Louisiana RV Parks - Shreveport and Baton Rouge

I'm going to spend one overnight stop in Shreveport and Baton Rouge within the week. I would appreciate any recommendations. I would like to be near I-20 or I-49 in Shreveport ............. and near I-49 or I-10 in Baton Rouge. I will not even be unhooking the tow vehicle. Thanks

RE: Orange Beach, Alabama

Thanks for the information. I will be taking I-20 to Shreveport, LA. and then I-49 to Baton Rouge on Sunday. I was finally able to get reservations in Orange Beach, AL. I don't like long drives so I plan to stop and overnight near both cities. I'm going to post a new thread and ask for Shreveport and Baton Rouge RV park recommendations. Thanks to everyone for their input.

RE: Orange Beach, Alabama

Thanks, Bob. My next choice seems to be Luxury RV. I have an email into them asking about availability. Because of the holiday weekend, it will most likely be tomorrow for an answer. I'm also considering Island Retreat and Sun Outdoors. However, both of those got some negative reviews for their WiFi.

RE: Orange Beach, Alabama

I just located a Gulf Shores RV Resort that has openings beginning June 20th. I may have to delay my trip if I can't find anything else. With schools recently ending the year, it might be difficult.

RE: Orange Beach, Alabama

Thanks for the seafood restaurant tip. I checked out Gulf State Park and it's a no go. It's booked solid except for a few single night stays. No RV site is available for 4-5 nights. I may have to find a place to stay inland away from the coast.

Orange Beach, Alabama

Traveling from Dallas/Ft. Worth to Orange Beach, AL in the next couple of weeks. What would be the best route for a travel trailer and where to stay for 4-5 days once I arrive? Also, any recommended side attractions in the area? This will be my first out-of-state trip with the TT. Thanks

RE: A Quick Question

>>Yes, both tanks. This will prevent you from having to get up at 2 in the AM. to open the second tank and keep all propane appliances operating.<<
Thank you so much! I do not function well at 2:00 AM. ;-)

A Quick Question

I purchased a small, used TT and intend to take it out tomorrow for a couple of nights close to home. It has two propane tanks with an automatic switch-over function on the regulator. My question: Do BOTH tanks need to be OPEN for this function to operate correctly?

RE: trailer quality

Wage of the workers does not make one difference in "quality".
Of course it does! Someone making $18/hour has a lot more incentive to retain that job. Someone making $7.25 knows there is a fast food restaurant within walking distance that has a "Now Hiring" sign in the window.

RE: Another Question About Level Mate Pro

Thanks to both of you for the help. I downloaded the manual and will level the TT while in storage. Looking forward to trying this neat little unit. It should save a bundle of time.

Another Question About Level Mate Pro

I read here on RV.net about the Level Mate Pro and ordered one. It does not come with an instruction manual. The only guidance says to follow directions on the phone app. Logic tells me that the TT should be level before mounting the unit to the wall. Right now, my TT is sitting in storage and is slightly unlevel side-to-side and front-to-back. Do I need to hook up and level the trailer before proceeding? Or, can I just mount the Level Mate Pro regardless? Thanks
