Here's video that shows a Class A that crashed and hit a tree. The entire roof was pealed off of it! You Tube Video out of Oregon

RE: Sticker shock

Just yesterday I was talking with my BF (known each other close to 50 years), he's a senor service adviser for a very large Mercedes-Benz Dealership in the North East. He started out swinging wenches and worked at both smaller and very big dealerships. We were talking about how the dealerships charging "Book Time" for repairs has effected the quality of work. Some of the time "paid" does not even come close to the time that the "Tech" has to spend to complete the repair. This leads to the tech sometimes working on several different vehicles at the same time and billing hours on each one. When I called these "Techs" part changers and not real wrenches, I was surprised when he agreed with me. With all of the computers that all of these new vehicles have makes all these Techs part changers because, they can usually only change a part if the computer says to replace it! Now there are times where they do actually diagnosis something but when they do, it tends to really jack the cost way up!

Tesla X Towing Videos

This video was pretty interesting and showed some real life numbers. First Towing Video Mountain Towing I have no interest in purchasing a Tesla or any other type of Electric Vehicle as they just do not fit in with what my use is as of right now but you never know what the future will bring. When we purchased my DW's 2019 Nissan Rogue, I noticed that they had a "High Speed" charger there for the Leaf's. When I asked them how it was working they said it had been broken for quite some time and Nissan was not going to fix it as they had only sold ONE Leaf!

RE: Older Dog and Night time

I will be getting Macy into see our Vet this week to have her checked out. After reading what Dr. Doug suggested, I've been doing some research and she seems to fit a lot of what is described. Lately, I've noticed her stopping and just standing as if she's lost and doesn't know where she is. When this happens, even calling her name does not get her to even look your way. Usually, she has no problem with hearing and can hear me open "Their Cabinet" and comes out looking for a treat. :-) Another thing that has been happening is when I start to let them out, she will stand in our Dinning Room, it's almost like she's not sure what to do. I'll stand there and call her sometimes she'll come out on her own but other times I have to go in and help her along. Whatever this is has been slowly coming on for sometime but we have not put it all together until now. Hopefully our Vet can shed some light on what is going on and help her be more comfortable. We rescued her shortly after I had back surgery in 2005 but I always say, she's the one that rescued me! Thanks again for all of your caring replies, I'll post again once we see the Vet.

RE: Older Dog and Night time

She could be sensing something wrong with you, like the start of cancer from smoking or some other issue starting up. Excellent point! Don't ignore that. Been seeing just that on "Animal Miracles" where animals sense illnesses in humans. While I'm not discounting any ideas, I do not think this is it. I'm a 5.5 year cancer survivor and see my Oncologist every 6 months for extensive blood work.

RE: Older Dog and Night time

This is Wikipedia's description of CCD (canine cognitive disorder) and it's pretty accurate. There are medicines and OTC supplements that can be helpful. Doug, DVM Thanks for giving me this link, some of it hits home but others not so much. This gives us someplace to start before we got into our Vet so we can have our questions on hand.

Older Dog and Night time

Our Macy (Our rescue Golden / Cocker Mix) is just about 15 now and lately she's been acting a little strange at night. First, Macy while she has always been fine with me, she has always shown more "love" towards my Wife. Recently, usually starting around 9 pm, she wants to be near and almost touching me. I smoke so I am usually outside on our Lanai watching TV while my wife is inside. Macy will come to the door and scratch so I let her out and after a couple of minutes she wants to go back into the A/C (She's smarter than I am :-) ) Tonight she has been glued to me for the past several hours. I've taken her back out just in case that was the problem but nothing changed. What I'm wondering is I've witnessed "Sun Downers Syndrome" in friends before and I'm wondering if this might be something like that and if anyone else have noticed this happening with older dogs? I will be taking her to see our long time Vet but just worry that she is getting older. Thanks Everyone.

RE: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

Interesting way to put out a Tesla Fire. Not sure I would have done what they did to make sure it didn't reflash but I guess it worked!

RE: Chevy DEF system failure

My Brother In Law (2012 3500 Dually with about 120,000 miles on it) was up in Alaska with his Truck Camper last Summer when the DEF Heater went south and put him into Limp Mode. They had to fly one in for him and that took about a week! He is really considering deleting it but I told him about Canada being tough on people deleting. They go up to and through Canada quite a lot and after I brought it up he is rethinking the idea.

RE: Tire Dealer trying to sell me older tires, what do I do?

Also, the clock starts ticking when the tires are SOLD - and the date of manufacture is only used in the absence of a purchase date (no receipt!) Check the warranty for details. All of the tire dealers near me in Florida say if a tire is 5-6 years old they are not alloyed to repair them! One of these shops is the one that I've dealt with for over 15 years and trust! So, I would go be the date code on the tire not the date on a receipt.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Good Morning FOOFs Speaking of barking dogs, Monty likes to bark at our skylight in the kitchen. I had the roof replaced several years ago. When one of the workers replaced the skylight, Monty happened to be in the kitchen at the time. He looked up and saw the worker removing the old skylight and went crazy barking. Now, every time we get any rain, he starts barking and runs to the kitchen. The rain on the skylight makes noise and it makes him mad. I guess he thinks he is guarding us from the bad man on the roof. I hope everyone has a great day! Burch Burch, Our Pap Sandi does not like change. When Christmas comes around and we have to rearrange the living room, she will bark at whatever is now in a new spot. She will do this every time she walks by it until time comes to put it back where it belongs. Now, if we get a package and put it on the dining room table, the DW and I wait for Sandi to notice it and start barking at it. Sometimes, you just need to laugh. :)
