RE: Do's and don'ts of towing a loaded 12" tandem behind 5vr??

Back to the OP's post. A 12 foot trailer, loaded property, will do great behind a 5th wheel trailer. Been there and done that for almost 20 years. You will learn the do's & don'ts along the way.

RE: New Reese hitch; confused about unhitching.

On my Reese, when you pull the arm out it releases the jaws, that allow them to open. They are still closed until you pull away.

RE: Puck system & hitch questions

Have only the 5th wheel prep done at the factory. then you can buy your B&W Companion anywhere. I just bought/received my B&W Companion for my GMC that is going to be built the first of the year w/ the 5th wheel prep package

RE: Michigan to Arizona route advice

I would catch west US62 south of OKC, then 86 to US 60 into AZ. But that's the way I travel, non interstate.

RE: Albuquerque Rv campground?

I like Coronado on the north side of Albuquerque. Coronado Campground in Bernalillo, right on the Rio Grande. That's where we stayed & would return. Close to all Albuquerque's sites without the inner city feel.

RE: Where to in June

Take a Lewis & Clark tour up the Missouri River. Water and history, all in one trip. State, COE and National parks along the way.

RE: Trip to Colorado from Minnesota

So late Oct- early Nov. Find a campground around Ft Collins. Then if weather permits, take a drive up the Cache La Poudre River(HWY 14). That's my first taste of Colorado, been hooked since. 14 crosses the divide at Cameron Pass, a easy day trip from Fr Collins. Weather permitting.

RE: Forest River Wildcat OR Grand Design Reflection...???

It's all about the floor plan. The 303 has most campsite side view from inside. The Wildcat has most of it's windows on the road side. I have a friend that has a Wildcat with no campsite view from the inside. Our 303 has worked for us. It's all about the floorplan, you want.

RE: Rio Grande Valley

We changed our plans this year. After 12 years in the RGV, we won't go back until a few things have improved.

Grand Isle toll bridge in La.

I've booked a site at Grand Isle State Park in Louisiana. I understand the bridge toll is $7.50, with our unit. Is that toll charged both coming & going, or just crossing to get there? Thanks

RE: Dinosaur National Park

Nothing scenic unless, you go up and over the hill to Flaming Gorge area. There are different ways to get to Dinosaur from Vernal. Jones Hole scenic goes to Dinosaur the back way from Vernal.

RE: Towing My Boat Behind My Fiver'

Well said Bionic Man. I've also towed a boat behind a 5W since 2004. Every winter from NW Missouri to somewhere in Texas. Be ready to plan ahead and stay alert. But MO,AR,OK & TX allow it. It enough stress to tow where legal but add illegal, I'll stay west of the Mississippi.

RE: Central Missouri to Colorado Springs

In that part of Colorado you're in the foothills. Shouldn't be a problem. Time depends on the route. Fastest interstate. If you have the time, 50/56 across southern KS & return 36 across northern KS.

RE: Opinions on 5th Wheels with Island Kitchens

2halfs, Denice, the Grand Design 303RLS, while it doesn't have the outdoor kitchen, will meet all your wants. Island, able to get to the frig & bathroom with slides in. A still at 32' 6" pin to ladder.

RE: Enchanted loop NM

You'll be okay. The bottom half, Taos to Angle Fire on 64, are the narrowest & twisty part. Drove it several times with 5th wheel. It's a slow drive anyway. Top half, 38, is a real good road.

RE: Turning a FW around in a Culdesac

To the OP, if you don't think you can make the turn around. Then back into the cul-de-sac off the main road. Most need to learn how to back away.

RE: Route D between US54 and MO64

No problem at all. The shoulders aren't wide but if you can drive between the ditches you'll be OK. Enjoy.

RE: Amarillo to Red River Suggestions

Is SR-38 a two lane highway? Is the grade posted? We don’t play with passes and grades much here in East Texas! ?? SR-38 (NM-38) has been 2 lane since, forever ;) . I can't remember if the grade is posted but you wouldn't be driving 75 MPH. Like in East Texas. :B
