RE: Another Mile, Another Day

Depends. If I have a destination I can go a loooonnnngggg ways. Rest when I get there. Otherwise if just browsing around the country layover every few hundred miles and take a look around. Last Christmas I drove straight from here to West Palm Beach, 700mi, none stop at 79 years old. Yes non stop except for a couple of rest areas to go to the bath room....you don't drink you don't pee!!!!! But why? Last year I drove direct from Fort Worth to Minot ND and it only took 35 days.I did go by way of ABQ, Santa Fe Rocky Mountain NP and some outher interesting places. I arrived rested and well fed. I think I may have rushed it a little. Bill

RE: Another Mile, Another Day

These type of threads are always fun. I have found that on main roads your average speed will be 50 MPH. So use that number for planning. One of my fav statements is"on the road by 9 off by happy hour". Lots depends on what you are driving, are you still working? Sad for you if you are. I hate to tell you but RETIREMENT is better than you heard it was.:B I have done as few as 23 miles on a drive day to a max of around 300. I just use what discounts are available like Passport America, I saved over $600.00 last year with just that discount.Lots of cost depends where you are traveling. Be happy diesel is lower now. I remember filling up in Ca a few years back when the cheap diesel was over $5.00 gal. Bill

RE: My black tank valve is stuck. Easy lube fix?

I replaced both of mine at the same time on one of my RV's. Took me more than 15 minutes.. I had the 4 bolt thing down pat, but getting the seal to stay in the right place took me a couple of hours worth of tries! Next time try using a little grease like petroleum jelly under the gasket to help hold it in place. Bill

Bear with me as I am on the phone in the bush Dometic RM1350SLMX 2 years old Doesn’t cool on electric Control says it’s on. No error message There is power at the plug. Anything I can check past that? See if there is a fuse on the control board. Bill

RE: My black tank valve is stuck. Easy lube fix?

Replace both of them. I just did it and it only took about 15 minutes each. If one is messing up the outher isn't far behind. Bill
