RE: FIBERGLASS campers ??

I have a Dutchman type camper with "fiberglass" sides. Most are built with a skin (and I mean thin) layer of fiberglass glued and pressed on to a luan type backer (which is wood). If moisture (humidity or water) gets to the wood the fiberglass pops off in what they call delamination. If you get delamination you have lost thousands in value of your RV. A few use ANSDEL backer for the fiberglass, which is water resistant.

RE: USA crossing to Canada from NY

Set your GPS to avoid toll roads! My history with the ETR is avoid, because by the they catch up to it will cost you $$$ in late penalties! At the border they take US, CA cash or EZ-Pass.

RE: Buying a New 2016 trailer in 2019. What’s it worth?

It may be never owned but it has been out in weather for 4 years! Look for water intrusion and cracked caulking. 50% is generous.

RE: Best RV Resort or Campground

Letchworth and Allegany SP, NY have been rated #1 & #2 the best State Parks respectively in America! Letchworth is a picturesque river valley with 3 major waterfalls (Genesee River) with manicured walking trails. Allegheny has over 63,000 acres of mostly forested hills with many hiking trails, I believe one is 27 miles. Beautiful more natural setting.

RE: Surge power protector- hard wire or portable?

If you are a DIYer check out the warranty requirements for the hard wired version I believe there state you need to have it installed by a tech. P.S. I have a portable one that I chain to the power post, wouldn't be without it!

RE: Maryland to Canada Niagara Falls Jellystone

If you are coming up through Erie PA I90 is the most direct route although a little rough through Indian Reservation (due to a squabble between the Seneca Nation and the State of NY - over casino money). Then take I190 right to the Peace Bridge. If coming up I99 take I86 west to I390 (north) to route 36 north, this takes you through Mt. Morris and to Letchworth SP. Letchworth was named the best (#1) state park in the country! Next turn left on route 63 to Batavia. Take I90 west to I190. 36 & 63 are the way truckers go, good 2 lane highways.

RE: Maryland to Canada Niagara Falls Jellystone

In a positive note, here us a link to a forum on another site that has information about Niagara Falls and Western New York. Niagara Falls things to do or done.

RE: Maryland to Canada Niagara Falls Jellystone

I don't know where MDKMDK got their information, but there is nothing wrong with the Queenston/Lewiston bridge! I've lived here most of my life! With that said, taking the Peace Bridge to the QEW is the most direct route to Niagara Falls Jellystone Campground. Now getting to Buffalo, will you be traveling through Pittsburgh or a route north that is farther east?

RE: Tie Downs

I've got such a deal for you. I have a 2011 Silverado long bed / regular cab truck with Torklift frame mounts that I don't need as I sold my TC. PM me to see if we can work a deal.

RE: Slide out awnings

I think I've got mine to tight, as they seem to put stress on the slide out mechanism. Otherwise they are great.
