RE: Dealing with diabetes

I'm a techno geek an love my Abbott Libre 14 Day Sensors with a smart phone. It reads every 5 min and I Chan check the graph. I'm type 2 and lowered my A1C by 1.4 points (to the mid sixes). Check with your insurance carrier on what they approve and the cost. Abbott now has the Libre 2 out but it must use a dedicated monitor. I'll wait until it's able to connect to a smart phone. Like the OP said all the work monitoring is better than the uncontrolled consequences.

RE: electrical problem

Get on line trouble shooting instructions for your converter. Should tell if you have a bad converter.

RE: Suspension questions

I don't have experience with never lube bushings, but I would recommend looking at some sort of flex equalizers to take some of the road shock out of the ride. I'm happy with Dexter EZ-Flex. EZ-Flex

Be sure to check out the on line videos about removing the bolts, as one side is press fitted an can not turn. I made a wood block with a shallow hole (large enough to clear the head of the bolt) and then used a large C-clamp to push the bolt out

RE: New York mandates car sales be zero emission only by 2035.

You all need to watch this 5 minute video about the real cost of "zero emission" vehicles! Unobtanium

RE: EZ Pass with and without trailer

I was told here in New York State by the Thruway Authority that I needed 3 EZ-pass tags. One for my truck, one for towing a single axle trailer and one for my truck and my 2 axel camper. Several years ago was charged the highest toll rate for my truck with a truck camper, over $50 to travel from Buffalo to Albany! There was no cost for the additional tags. I just have to remember to change them to match what I am driving.

RE: Electric Tongue Jack Power Problem

Jerry, the OP said he just added positive power to the jack pin! He didn't check the truck output.

RE: Electric Tongue Jack Power Problem

Check your truck manual, I needed to add a fuse in the fuse box, it may be blown or not there.

RE: Not a good thing, at all....

Ontario (which has the longest CA border with the US) issues an update about the 20th of the month every month. Latest states that the border is closed except for essential travel (not campers) thru 4/21/21. It has been that way since 3/20/20!

RE: Trailer demand and prices

I had a "crystal ball" that was made of plastic, for forecasting solvents (like gasoline) in 1972!

RE: Finger Lakes NY or surrounding areas

FYI Letchworth SP has been rated one of the top SP in the country! But it us not on a lake, it is on the Genesee River.

RE: New Dually - Need Hitch, Toolbox, Rolling Cover Advice

Try looking at a Softopper folding "cap" Not affiliated, but I've had mine for over 10 years, very happy.

RE: Leave TT Unhitched?

Get a hitch lock! I use an old hitch ball with the bolt cut off and a padlock on the locking tab. Nothing is theft proof but it will slow them down.

RE: Removing seized shackle bolts?

Note as mentioned before, the bolt head usually has knurling and is pressed in( should not spin). Nut should turn off. I waisted more than an hour before I realized what was not going to work.

RE: Big truck passing

How old is your TT or 5thW? I had a 9 year old TT. I was pushed around at highway speeds by trucks. I upgraded the suspension which made all the difference in the world. It had the OEM plastic bushings that were worn out and dry! Went to wet bolts and bronze bushings, and Dexter E-Z Flex equalizers. This tighten up the suspension and reduced the sway. This worked for me and may not be the answer for others.

RE: How to run exterior cable for wired backup camera?

I tap off the bath fan (I have a rear bath). Mount a on/off switch near the fan with a pilot light. Run the cable through the vent cover.

RE: Progressive Dynamics converters

Check the type of battery you have or are looking to go to in the future. As different batteries take different charging schemes. As Progressive for the best information.
