Purchaser owns it. When he signed the paperwork, he took delivery.. even if he didn't drive it off the lot. Willing to bet the dealership doesn't have it on their books anymore. VIN will point to a delivery with individuals name and it is now in custody of service department, not part of inventory or part of sales department. Mike

Payload usually does not include multiple passengers, just a 150# driver and half a tank of gas and does not address the WDH/weight. We do agree the OP has way more trailer than truck... :C Towing Capacity usually includes a 150lb driver and full fuel tank. Payload Capacity only includes the full fuel tank. The driver is considered as an Occupant and not factored into the Payload Capacity. Dan and Captain, SAE J2807 specifies 150 lb driver and 150 lb driver along with 100lbs of hitch equipment. All the OEM's have signed up to follow the standard. “Tow Vehicle Total Weight” (TVTW) for testing for ¾- and 1-ton trucks allocates 150 pounds for the driver, 150 pounds for a passenger, the weight of all tow package equipment, and 100 pounds of optional equipment (hitch ball, weight distribution bars, and such) split evenly between the front and rear axles. Motor Trend summary article on J2807 Cliky link Phil J2807 is the TESTING standard. It doesnt change how payload is calculated. J2807 TESTING, which all manufacturers have signed up to, merely establish the test conditions under which the vehicle must be able to pass a test in order to establish the Gross Combined Vehicle Weight (GCVW), which is the combined weight of trailer and tow vehicle. It is simply a standard test methodology to establish GCVW, nothing more. It did not/does not change how payload is calculated. Look at your yellow sticker. It says combined weight of ALL passengers and cargo must not exceed xxxx lbs. It does not say all passengers except one that weighs 150 lbs must not exceed. We all know towing a flat bed trailer with weight is far different than a RV and with an RV, one will likely exceed payload way before reaching their GCVW. Mike

Okay.. Don't know if that takes more stress off or not. They mount with either four or six bolts (can't remember and it's dark outside(, so not sure their position on the mount adds more stress or reduces stress. I don't think anyone is taking offense. I sure wasn't. Just saying you don't have to justify your decision to any of us. It's all good. Interesting though that no one else uses them. Maybe you'll start a trend. Mike

Not sure I understand what you mean about setting the jacks at the same tow height. I would think you want the jacks to be fully retracted while towing, not set to the same towing height, but whatever works for you. Not sure what you mean about less to deal with either. Put down pads, initiate auto level. Done. You don't have to justify your decision to us. Enjoy. Mike

If it's cold enough for your Keurig to freeze while you are in the camper, with heater on (because it is cold), then can't help ya. If your RV is parked for the winter, take the Keurig home with you and keep it in your nice toasty home. Mike

Heckuva lot more plastic options alot cheaper that work fine for the majority of us. I just use the Camco plastic lego squares. Work just fine and can get 10 for the half the price of one of your Ox Blox. To each there own I suppose. i haven't had any issues with my cheapo camco blocks for oh, I don't know, nearly 10 years. When my wife heard about the DEF shortage she ordered 4 jugs from Walmart . Got it the next day , free delivery . I sure wish some one would tell her that there is a shortage of Snicker bars and Krispy Kreme donuts ! Panic buying and hoarding will create the alledged shortage. It becomes a self fullfilling prophecy Exactly! I actually believe in some instances these sort of "shortages" are artificially created in order to increase consumption and raise prices. All you have to float is an internet statement that looks real enough to ignite a flurry of reactions like this thread and increase your bottom line. Mike

Honestly, they all have their pros and cons. 1. Good Sam and Coachnet will FIRST find a shop willing and able to take your rig. THEN, only after they confirm that, will they then locate a tow truck to get you there. This can cause delays. My breakdown was at night, in the rain. Coachnet towed me home. That said, I was probably 70 miles from home, and they said the nearest repair shop was in my town, so I had them take me home vice the shop. They did tell me that they would have to charge me if there was a difference. They did use the nearest shop policy, but the dealership was already closed, so there was no way for them to get a confirmation that they would accept my truck. I was out in the middle of absolute nowhere, and fortunately did still have cell service. I got the impression they would have towed me anywhere I wanted to go, as long as I was willing to pay the difference. Good thing there wasn't a shop closer. Mike

I use Coach Net. Had one instance. Broke down middle of nowhere. They took care of everything. If i used my regular insurance, I believe I would have to find tow truck company, call, and then get reimbursed. Ajriding, I don't think having a claim for towing would impact your insurance rates. At least not with any insurance company I've ever had. Neither does having a claim for cracked windshield. Mike

I agree with OP. Some of the basic acronyms like RV, TV (for television, and tow vehicle here) and the like are one thing, but when I have to google acronyms just to be able to understand a conversation, that's beyond ridiculous. Its a shame we can't communicate effectively without the use of internet to look up obscure acronyms. Mike

I've watch a couple come thru the inlet past Fort Clinch unsubmerged. It's an impressive sight. Gun boats fore and aft with attack choppers overhead. They move back and forth to a repair facility in Mayport as needed. Didn't think about them moving out for repairs. Good point. Was just thinking operationally. Friend of mine's ex son in law was stationed there as a submariner. I know their departures were generally at times you and I would probably be sleeping. You know, heard it from a friend who... heard it from a friend who... Mike

Yeah, I've stayed at Crooked River several times. We go to the Amelia Island Shrimp festival and stay at Crooked River. We still go down there, even with Shrimp festival having been canceled past two years. Not much of anything going on locally. We go just to relax and chill at the state park. You won't see any subs.. their movements are concealed/not disclosed on purpose. The submariner museum is cool, so that is one thing you could do. Mike

At this time of year, with short notice, it will take some luck. Also, everything will be pricey. Sun N Fun would have been one of my recommendations, but since that's a no go, here's a couple others. Frog Creek RV Resort. Palmetto (North of Sarasota). We were there the week before Thanksgiving. Decent park. Mosquitoes were bad though. The Tides - just down the road from Frog Creek. Right around $100 a night based on a friends reservations for a week. Nice resort, large spots all with brick pavers. I assume for one night, probably not worth it, but I doubt you will find anything for less than $85-$100 a night. Mike

I agree... it is load limit, and if you exceed the load by a pound you should go to the next higher rating. BUT, my interpretation of Cummins 12v98's post is even if I were at or below the appropriate rating, he recommends adding 5 PSI. Just strikes me odd that he (and others) are so adamant about following the chart, but then decide on their own to only take it as a recommendation and create their own chart (in their mind). Just an observation, nothing more. Mike

Im just curious.... if the chart is gospel, why go 5psi above what the chart recommends?Better to be 5 over than 5 under. Can lose some air naturally or through a slow leak. I agree. I just really don't understand the mentality of "thou must obey the inflation charts", but then recommend 5 PSI over said inflation charts. Mike

Over/under MAX has nothing to do with "PROPER" inflation. There is a reason for every tire there is a Load/Inflation chart. Weigh your axles and add 5psi to what the chart recommends. This is per GY Tech support for when a person wants to use the brain GOD has given you instead of blindly airing to MAX sidewall pressure. Im just curious.... if the chart is gospel, why go 5psi above what the chart recommends? Mike
