RE: Help me with current best manufacturers

I have a Winnebago bought new 20 years ago still going strong. I believe build qualities have declined better know how to maintain your unit since the service are worse. Buy tools, learn DIY, and enjoy RVing.

RE: 1st night camping in our yard, 2023.01.24

Similar excitement 20 years ago with the new Winnebago. Don't sweat it just take off and leave the worries behind. Keep your motor running out there on the highway.

RE: how to find value of used RVs?

Stay away from used, other people's problems. Should be able to negotiate 20% or more on new units or walk away they should be hurting to make a sale.

RE: 2023 camping season

We boondock or go to remote campgrounds away from crowds. Main reason we RV for the last 20+ years staying away from people.

RE: Older Ford E450 V10 chassis cold starting problem

Same unit from 2002 always do my own maintenance, never had issues with starting. Change battery every 2 years and oil annually. Good info on fuel filter will look out for this. Make sure you change the brake fluid.

RE: Will a 3/4 ton do

Michelle S you are correct not sure why OP is asking probably already knew the answer. Sometimes wonder why they ask, guess forums are good for info, opinions, even learn something new not relating to the question.

RE: The Future of Pricing

This thread is going off the rails. Not so simple question to buy or not to buy now, not sure anyone can answer the question to OP's liking. OP what is your decision.

RE: Jacking For Tire Change

OP how did you do? Jacking up a Class C front or rear is interesting as well. Bottle jack 8 tons, 6 tons jack stands, sockets, breaker bar, impact wrench, wood, and lots of patience.

RE: The Future of Pricing

Prices will increase for RV's and trucks, however, you may be able to negotiate when sales decline. Lucky to have bought new 20 years ago and maintained it and used it. If you did not miss the lifestyle while not having the rv and truck, minivan/airbnb may be better options. Will continue rving until health reasons or they take away our gas.

RE: Yellowstone Update

Nice info on Yellowstone. Rving for 20+ years never had an interest to visit so call bucket list including Yellowstone, but may one day visit. National Geographics on TV is fine. These places are so crowded so we RV and visit other great places in our great country that don't make it on the bucket list. Rving boondock is our preference over crowded campgrounds.

RE: Holes in Fiberglass Roof

Epoxy works or caulk. Easy fixes don't have to outsource. Go to Lowes or Home Depot and take care of it. Go up on the roof periodically to wash it and inspect, Go RV.

RE: Any issues having slides on both sides?

Slides add weight to the unit. 2 slides on current unit Class C Winnebago still going strong 20+ years. Make sure you have strong batteries and don't go cheap to operate the slides.

Agree with using wood instead of plastic blocks for leveling Class C. Used wood to level unit for the last 20 years.
