RE: campsite photos

Which Skidaway park were you at? We stayed at the state park and had tons of room for our 40' toyhauler. I bragged to friends that we could have put two trailers end-to-end with ease. Next time try the state park. When I am looking for a new park I push the RV Parks button at the top of this page. Good Sam has been a reliable source for us as we don't like staying in junky parks. I also look at the parks on Google Maps to see the layout.

RE: 20 year old hoses

I'd change them. Plus you might need a coolant change.

RE: UTV trails/campgrounds in Richfield Utah area ???

South Forty RV Park in Marysvale is all about off-roading. Piute Trail is in their backyard, 2200 miles.

RE: Leave slide out?

Look at all the RV's that are lived in full-time.

RE: Best route from Merced Ca to Mesa Az

I mis-spoke when I said I overnight in Tehachapi. Driving motorhomes for the company we have to sleep in hotels and Tehachapi fits the bill. I don't have any info on RV parks, sorry.

RE: Best route from Merced Ca to Mesa Az

I do sorta that quite often; Tucson to Sacramento delivering motorhomes. 99 south to Bakersfield. 58 east through Barstow to I-40 east to Needles then south on the 95 to I-10 to Phoenix area. Easy peasy. I, and our other drivers, have found this is the best route as we've tried everything else. I always overnight in Tehachapi.

Forum Posting Help and Support

Just as a curiosity, why do you think so many threads, on a host of topics, are started in Forum Posting Help and Support? Is it through a default of some sort?

RE: Having a SENIOR moment

Driver's licenses are far too easy to get. There aren't enough cops out there 'correcting' driver behavior. BTW, I've seen some pretty crappy RV driver behavior, too, so I don't think we have a leg to stand on to criticize non-RVers. Frankly, it's just the human animal being what it is.

RE: Campground Theft

Thieves steal things that they can quickly convert to cash. A plastic bed rail doesn't fit that bill, Hubcaps maybe. Electronics, jewelry, generators, bicycles definitely.

There's another thread on this story.

RE: Must read before you buy (Long)

The manufacturers DON"T CARE about quality products or they would build quality products, which they don't. My trailer is prime example. I had issues when it was new that wouldn't have been issues if the work had been don't properly at the factory. I work in the RV industry and see the lousy workmanship on a large scale. It is a fact that the workers are paid by the piece and crank out the RV's as fast as they can so they can make more money. There is also no quality inspections at these factories. Met a man who worked a Keystone trailer line and he said he'd never buy one.

RE: health insurance

I'm a retired city cop and didn't pay into SS for 30 years but I am Medicare eligible and am on it. My wife won't be 65 for another 18 months and she is continuing on my city healthcare plan to the tune of $600/month. FWIW, I paid $0 into healthcare for the last 10 years that I've been retired so I shouldn't complain.

RE: Using Winegard Satelite Dish Far From Home???

You would need to go through the receiver setup once and only once unless you move the receiver between home and RV. If that's the case, you must go through the receiver setup before you try to have the antenna search for the satellite as it will not be able to do so with any of the home setup settings. In the RV you want to have the receiver set to 18" round and Multi-switch to allow the antenna to locate the 101 satellite. He's got the Trav'ler that gets all three sats with the push of a button.

RE: Does anyone use Google FI for their cellular service?

Nope. I can't say I've ever been anywhere where I didn't have Verizon service.

RE: Just wondering

My triple axle Voltage grosses at 19,000 pounds. I've drug it around the country for the past 5 years with my Chevy 3500 dually and have had zero issues. I wouldn't have anything less than a dually. You need payload to handle a large trailer. My Voltage puts 3500 pounds on the hitch (been to the scales) but my truck has a 5000 pound payload, which a single wheel rear won't have.

RE: Using Winegard Satelite Dish Far From Home???

I use the same setup. We've been all over the country with no problems, so it's not a location issue. I think the box isn't getting the sat signal.

RE: Augusta, Ga. to Pensacola cross country suggestions.

Easy. Go to Google Maps, enter start point and ending point. Tap OPTIONS and check Avoid Highways. Shows three routes for you.

It's an accident looking for a place to happen.
