RE: Fleetwood Mallard early 2000's (pics added)

around 6k sounds good we have a 05 27' Fleetwood Pegasus that had been stored inside, very nice paid 12k for it. ours has a lot of onions. it seams to be a well constructed rv much better than a lot of newer rv's Jay D.

RE: Generator while traveling for travel trailer

Most portable generators need to be level when running. Roads are not level, and the carrier may not be level, when hooked to tow vehicle. Jerry I've never seen anyone have a problem with the generator running while on the road. When we go salmon dipping in Chitna, we often take a chest freezer in the back of one of the trucks and run it off of a Honda 2000. Other friends have gone to Colorado for elk hunting and used a chest freezer all the way back to Alaska with a Honda 2000 and no problems. Bill we did this, my gen a 3500 Champion is mounted on the back of my T/T. I ran a heavy duty extension cord up to my pickup bed were I had a 7cu. freezer. going down the road i would run the gen about a 1/2 hour every other hour it kept everything frozen solid. Jay D.

RE: Is this legal???

the O/P should contact the Better Business bureau in the state of the campground, they should be able to provide honest answers. its not the money so much its the principal. some people just don't care and will lay down and let people walk on them. others do care, they are the ones that make it better for all of us. its all about right and wrong. Jay D.

RE: Slide Out Mechanisms

we have the cable system and its about 12 years old. I have replaced some of the cables and done some adjustments, its very easy to work on. I carry a couple spare cables kits and other parts just incase. I could easily change them on the road, the only thing that couldn't be fixed on the road is the motor if you didn't have a spare. you can also move the slide in with battery operated drill and a flex drive to fit your motor. RE: Finding a CG has become such a frustrating pain in the....

The wife and I drove down to a couple of our local campgrounds one Saturday during the summer last year. both have signs that they are full. as we are driving through we see several sites vacant 8- 10, as we are exiting I see the camp host and ask if your full how come you have many open sites. he says they are reserved, but he also says the people may or probably wont show up. most were reserved for three nights the soonest we could have one would be monday afternoon. even though they sat vacant Friday Saturday and Sunday. what gives! Jay D.

RE: Different generator question?

Why not convert the ONAN to a portable? Thhat Champion you cited sounds like it might be a contractor's model (That wattage usually is) ear plugs are NOT optional. they are necessary with Contractor's models. Build a box to enclose the ONAN and load it in your truck to carry. you may wish to convert it to gasoline though.. Propane it sucks lots of. NOPE, Champion has a 3400 inverter with remote start weighs apr. 95 # I have the same thing only 3500w Jay D.

RE: Looking for a generator

CHECK your FACTS again, that's a contractor gen not an inverter. unlike the 3500 inverter model 100262 at 59dba. Champion also has several 2000w inverters that run 53 dba Jay D.

RE: Looking for a generator

check your facts, Champion specs there 3500w remote start inverter gen at 59.0 dba. I just can't see a 2400w gen starting a 3500w A/C. my 3500w gen wouldn't start mine, I had to get a soft start now its ok. Jay D.

RE: California Firearm Compliance

All you folks avoiding California must be doing something right because California is the 2nd most popular state for foreign travel (New York) and the most popular for internal travel. Keep on staying away! Yep, I think people are rushing there to watch the homeless people **** all over the sidewalks, so many nicer places to go. Jay D.

RE: California Firearm Compliance

Golly----I LOVE Idaho and it's lack of gun haters. Walk through the Costco and you might see more then a couple weapons hanging around. We can buy as many rounds as we have money for, stop by the holster shop and pick a new holder, get a couple 15 round mags at the other store, pick up a pizza and the mail, go home, kiss the little lady, pat the dog, and relax. Life is good!! We carry bear spray AND a firearm for our protection when traveling. This is our choice and each person has the opportunity to chose their comfort level. Peace out fellow traveler sounds great, I'm going to look for some property there. Jay D.

RE: Help with a salvage title situation

you really need to go and talk with someone at your local licensing agency. and do what they tell you you have to do. I would think that Camping World should have been required to have you sign a form that states that this vehicle had a salvage title. it protects them and you both. I would check the law on this. here in Oregon I believe its required. Jay D.

RE: 2017 GMC SIlverado Crew Cab Short Box

GOOD POST^^^^^ I pull a 27' T/T with a gmc crew cab short box 5.3 and have no problems at all, pulls great. just went 7000 mi. to Alaska and I couldn't ask for anything better. a 6.0 engine would be nice but I don't really need one. if I towed all the time then yes maybe. I like 20 + mpg I get on the h-way when not towing. when in Canada and crossing the mountains I could blow buy my B/Ls 40' diesel pusher. As for the Harley, I would have pulled the front wheel and blocked the frame at the rear then pulled the tailgate off. he could have then probably used a standard w/d hitch. Jay D.

RE: Yea, "cheap gas"

That's less than 2.50 a gal how can they do it! the cheapest gas here today is 3.10 that's 6.10 for gas and 12.80 for the burgers. you won't get much of a burger here for 6.40. maybe a burger but they will hold the meat. Jay D.

RE: Yea, "cheap gas"

I started driving and paying for my own gas in 1971 when I was 16 years old. I vividly remember the first time I got gas at the pump myself, for my own car, that I paid for myself from working, making my money ... not sponging off my parents..... it was 17 cents a gallon. I thought that was a horrible price! Well, when I was making $1.60 an hour, it probably was! Yep, I remember the good old times. but for that 1.60 and hour you could buy 5 gal of gas and a burger basket for you and your girl friend and maybe have money left over for two ice cream cones. today you make 25.00 hour you get 2 gal of gas and two SMALL fast food burgers. Jay D.
