RE: Driving people to boondock by calling themselves a "Resort"

Oh I agree they are not targeting the boondocking crowd. The new will wear off and the "Resort" label will not carry them. If Dollywood had a RV park it could rightfully call itself a Resort. Not so with those two.

Driving people to boondock by calling themselves a "Resort"

we have reservations in a didderent place but just for kicks I looked up two new RV Parks in Pigeon Forge TN. MARGARITAVILLE RV RESORT AT $119 a night and Pigeon River Landing rv resort at $79 per night. Marg is not a resort no beach no river no mountain within 5 miles of mountains. PR Landing is no resort. Again no beach no mountains does have hills does have stream. Both have pools. Most Parks are expected to have clean facilities, pool, and wifi but add Resort to mane and watch out.

RE: smartphone as hotspot for remote work

We have Visible and we use our cell phones as Hotspot while camping. Most CG don't have a big enough pipe. We haven't tried any great volumes of data but are happy with the Hotspot.

RE: Cell phone. Carrier

Good grief Gdetrailer you must be far out! Were you considered a citizen in the last election?

RE: Avoid Silverton Colorado

Their town Their rules. When we see places overrun by OHV or cart drivers we move on to spend our time and money elsewhere.

RE: DIRECT TV or DISH?

About 8 months ago we switched from Direct to Dish and are happy we did. Equal or better programming at a slight savings. We recently bought a Playmaker and Wally for the RV and for $5 per month it fills or needs. The equipment is much better but there is a learning curve with the remote. In the RV With Direct we had a satellite system but we had to use a SD receiver. With Dish we have HD.

RE: Want your opinion

Don't understand statement about 220 vs 120. Did you mean 50 vs 30 amp. Since they are all 110 in US.

RE: Which is best? Dish Tailgater Pro or Dish Playmaker Dual

It is my understanding that in dual receiver systems that only one sat is used which also limits programming available.

RE: Had our catalytic converter stolen

All electric cars will cure this problem but the slime will find something else to steal. What do you think the VALUE of Electric Car Battery banks are????? Thousands of dollars. Doug Key statement: "But the slime will find something else to steal. "

RE: Which is best? Dish Tailgater Pro or Dish Playmaker Dual

The Playmaker by Winegard that we recently purchased gets the east and west arcs. We were in Pigeon Forge recently when they endured sufficient rain to flood and in two days of hard rain didn't loose a signal. Couldn't be any better.

RE: New camper towing

It’s a pop-up, I don’t see filling the basement storage or FW tanks as being a deal-breaker. Put all the camping gear in the Traverse and drive carefully until you can get a frame hitch installed. How is that going to relieve the stress on the engine and transmission. Heat will be generated and that is what leads to premature failure.

RE: New camper towing

By the time you are ready to go you will exceed your towing capacity. Not a good fit.

RE: Gasoline/Diesel Shortages

Panic buying and NIMBY attitude. A refinery in North or South Carolina with designated crude delivered by ship would help. It appears this time will be over by the weekend.

RE: Run on gas

It will be corrected by this weekend and until then stockpiles will suffice.

RE: Foam Core Floor Repair. Epoxy?

Would it be better to use this epoxy AND 1/2 inch marine plywood?
