RE: Happijac motors

Thanks Makito I appreciate the update. Sounds like there are a couple of options. Nice to be able to use the old board with both motor styles

RE: Happijac motors

Thanks Beagle I’ll measure when it’s back on the truck. We’re camping with it off the truck for the next couple of weeks Should be close but I might drill if I have to but it is only when folded in. Good to know about the board. Always careful at end of travel too. I could move the rear motors to the front as long as I can run new and old together on the board

RE: Happijac motors

I also spoke with Bigfoot Industries regarding the clearance issue for the new jack motors and they had to alter the jack mount to the swing out brackets to achieve clearance. This lowered the jack height to the road a few inches. Happijac says the new style motors are 8” above the top of the jack I have a Bigfoot 10.4, 2008, same as you. I recently replaced the jacks with 4800, and at the time measured the motor clearance thinking I might need new motors. As I recall, I decided they would fit. My old motors still worked so I didn't change them. I'll measure them again but pretty sure you don't have an issue. I replaced my front jacks with4800’s. The rear jacks are original 4150’s from 2008. If the clearance is ok for the fronts to swing in under the cab over that would be great. Does the control board need to be changed? Mine is original, with the cord.

RE: Happijac motors

I spoke with Happijac recently about the same scenario. I was first told they were going to bring the old style back. Then I was told they weren’t and I needed all new jacks, motors and controller if one old style motor failed. I told them about the clearance issue for the front swing out brackets and they really didn’t seem to care.Lots of campers out there with clearance issues. Great customer service! I have one motor that’s hanging in there for now.

RE: Bigfoot dirty water streaks down sides from roof, solutions?

https://i.imgur.com/BGwhc4Xl.png I bought a 25’ roll on Amazon for $38.86 the model number is DRB-25. Make sure the area is cleaned with isopropyl alcohol before installing. Lay the drip rail in the sun for awhile so it becomes pliable. Once installed, rub the rail with an old toothbrush handle to heat activate the tape.

RE: Bigfoot dirty water streaks down sides from roof, solutions?

https://i.imgur.com/xv1XtrFl.jpg I’ve been contemplating installing rain gutters for awhile. Finally put Trim Loc over all the windows. The weather has been hot enough lately to soften the material to make it easier to work with and allow a good bond for the 3-m tape

RE: Happijack Swing Out Bolt Removal?

I would suggest trying a penetrating oil like PB Blaster first and see if that un sticks it

RE: New shocks?

I installed Rancho 9000’s on my truck 10 years ago. I removed the setting adjustment knob and coated the piston with marine grease. The shocks have been flawless. Starting to show some surface rust but no leaking. Being able to soften the ride of my dually unloaded is a big plus. I run 3 on the front and 1 rear unloaded and 9 all around with the camper on.
