RE: 2x10 between camper and front of bed or not?

Do your truck's rear tail light lenses rub on the camper when the 2x10 is not installed? Mine do so that is why there is a 2x10 spacer between the front of the TC and truck bed wall. No Lenses do not for me but I have a Ram Cummins.

RE: 2x10 between camper and front of bed or not?

We have never used anything but the rubber bumpers and have not had a problem in 4+ years. However, I think a 1x or 2x wood spacer would not be a bad idea. X2 Never used anything but good quality rubber mat over sprayed in bed liner. No spacer in front either. had a few panic stops over the years.Just rubber bumpers. Never moved.

RE: You very first TC...

Here is mine. 1968 Royal Coachman by Teardrop Bought it in 1976 from my dad. It bit the dust in the 80's when an Oregon storm (80mph) blew it over. Interior was very nice. Photo is in Ca. redwoods https://i.imgur.com/YH5Tsxnl.jpg Very cool looking TC!

RE: Handling comparison: SRW vs DRW at GVW

DRW hands down has safer, more stable feel. Most modern campers are way too heavy for a SRW. If you're using a SRW get a travel trailer or 5th wheel. Just my experience and humble opinion. X2

RE: Installed a front receiver on my F350 today

Spiked lug nuts. Bought the truck used, it came that way, wife likes em, they stayed. I think I saw those on Ben Hur. Thanks for the write up, I may be doing something similar. I'd probably include some sort of stick to provide a visual indication of the new length. Ben Hur LOL

RE: 2015 LANCE 1050S

Buzzcut1, Thanks for input. Yes I did notice the back splash near the sink as a con but I like the roomier dry bath. My Adventurer dry bath was nice but extremely tight. Drop down bunk for extra sleeping for Grandkids when needed. This year model has two storage compartments in exterior of slide. Also has an Onan 2500 generator with only 4 hrs. on it, back camera system, rear awning, Maggie rack on roof, prewired for solar, TV and entertainment system, and also looks the AC has a controlled thermostat so the fan will not run all night. Hated that. Made the deal yesterday with dealer and pending physical inspection Monday and everything checks out ok will bring TC home. Had to purchase extended brackets though for my DRW. Dealer is going to will install for me.

2015 LANCE 1050S

Well I sold my 2014 Adventurer 910 DB(dry bath) last month and looking at a 2015 Lance 1050s at a dealer here in Texas. Loved the Adventurer Quality but looking slightly larger TC with bigger Dry bath, Cabover area, and need extra sleeping. I have owned an older Lance before but anyone out there with this model or late model lance owners. Appreciate opinions.

RE: TC - New vs Extreme Makeover

I bought mine used, and I usually don't buy used stuff. While checking the camper out also check the owner. Are his cars junk? House need painting? Yard full of junk? If he doesn't take care of his other stuff he probably didn't take care of the camper. Very good point.

RE: Insulating under cab-over bed

I put 1" foam board under the mattress on mine. Seemed to help quite a bit also added a 12v heating blanket on it as well. Used to do a lot of ski / camping up at Manning Park in BC till they raised the prices thru the roof......... X2

RE: mattress moisture barrier

Few years back I used Drymesh. Similar to Hypervent but cannot find a U.S. Distributor anymore. Now use the pink or blue 4x8 foam board sold at Lowes or Home depot. Works and a lot cheaper than Hypervent.

RE: Kudos to Grand Design

I've had my GD fifth wheel for almost a year, had one minor issue with a slideout seal. Called the dealer and they were able to make me a Saturday appointment. Furthermore, the company is a participant in the GD user forum - go read it sometimes. They actualy talk to forum members and solve issues. I've been helped numerous times - and no one has ever given me the rolling eyes emoticon for what they considered common knowledge. Apparently they have something good going on and people actually enjoy helping each other out instead of what you get on here 80 percent of the time. Agree!
