RE: Full timing question

We haven't stayed here but have driven thru. Nice park. http://www.northspokanervcampground.com/ Also if you are and Eagles member they have RV parking in Spokane. Close by is Post Falls, ID. and Coeur d laine, ID. Just both a short ride to Spokane. Several parks in the area. Also, again the Eagles has RV parking in Hayden and the CDA Elks Lodge has an RV park if you are a member.

RE: Question about removing black tank

whereumakeit, most folks that do this is to get rid of the RV toilet and put in a residential pottie.

RE: Question about removing black tank

This is done quite frequently here in the Yuma, AZ. area on fivers that aren't moving. Removal of black tank can be fairly simple or a real PITA. Remove the RV pottie, drop the black tank, clear the hole that was used for the connection from the pottie. Use ABS black plastic to the sewer connection. Use the already in place water supply line and modify it reach to the new tank. Here in this area with so many RVs there are several plumbers that do just this. A few use a mobile RV repair person. Cost is dependent on labor rate and difficulty of job. If the fiver isn't going to move this is the only way to go.

RE: Missoula, MT to Columbia Falls and W Glacier

Rt. 35 is doable but many vehicles turning right and left. Don't use it during cherry season! US 93 is better but heavily traveled.

RE: Break away cable

I put the cable loop thru the clevis pin that holds the hitch head to the hitch super structure.

RE: Is Socializing a Dying Thing in the RV Community?

Absolutely Powertour! Been RVing since 1974, in parks, boondocking, etc. Shoot, there was always socializing going on. You would wave at somebody driving down the park road and wave, they would wave back. Now you get either "that deer in the headlight look" or the facial expression of "what the heck are you waving at me for"? It also carries over to being on the road. This past summer quite a few folks were telling about trying to get an RV driver that there was a problem with their rig. And they would just motor on.

RE: Advice on selling my 5th wheel

Do not give the consignment outfit your title. You hold it, have them call you if the customer is ready to settle. In the last decade there are many of these outfits will hold the title, sell the rig, and you don't get your money. And you have no title to show ownership and the buyer may never get the title either. We have had two outfits here in Yuma, AZ. that pulled this stunt. One is in the iron wigwam and the other reportedly fled the country. Two people got there money from the first outfit but the second outfit made off with everything. If they don't want to do business this way with you, run, don't walk away from them. Also, if it is a dealer that sells new RVs you will be playing second banana. Personally, sell it yourself.

RE: Protect 50A power cord?

Being fulltime, our 50 amp cord has laid out for 16 years, 365, 24/7. No problem!

RE: Nascar Follies

Heck, it's not cheatin, it's reading between the lines in the NASCAR rulebook. Make something obvious and they get side tracked on that obvious problem and then have a brain fart. That is why the ink is never dry in the rule book.

RE: generator surge

tiffy2000, I feel your pain. Last carb for our Marquis Gold 7000 was 192.00 thru an independent Onan repair shop. Now due for another. Like you said, no knock off available and not rebuildable, just another throw away item. Nothing PO's me more than when people fire up Yamahazees and Hondas, off they go, no choking, no puking, I'm sure you know the routine only too well also.

RE: Dental work in Mexicali

zhidoni, glad everything went well. Hard to beat. After the first of January, when the crowd gets larger, it will be busier than a one-armed paper hanger.

RE: Nascar Follies

Never forget when "Jaws" was driving for Junior and won the Allstar race at Charlotte and all race long was walking the dog. On the backstretch after the checkered flag, old "DW" hit the clutch, over revved the motor and detonated it. I think NASCAR spent close to the same time going over Junior's cars as they went thru inspection as they did with Smokey Yunick's years before.

RE: Joe Burrow Wins Heisman!

Best thing that happened to Coach "O" was when USC sent him down the road. I really like to hear interviews with him.

zhidoni, if you are going to downtown Algodones in the AM, wear a heavy jacket, it is cool down there in the AM!

RE: Dental work in Mexicali

The area north of I-8 where there is always some RVs parked is BLM Land. As far as Quechan being safe, no problem.

RE: Dental work in Mexicali

zhidon1, you can park RVs in the Indian lot at the border. It costs more than a "regular" vehicle. Also, I don't think it can stay overnight without previous arrangements and then I don't think you can be in the RV overnight. http://clinicadrcamacho.com/en/clinic/

RE: Dental work in Mexicali

The casino lot does not "fill" up, always room. There are also a couple of RV parks nearby if you don't want to dry park. It is quite a walk to the border. Depending what you have done it may not be in the best interest to walk back. The Indians charge $6.00 to park for the day. Sani Dental is one of only gosh knows how many dental offices in Algodones. But they may very be the largest advertiser. I've used Dr. Camacho just across the border for 16 years.

RE: Ford pickup recall

I have no problem with the recall. Years ago there was no such thing and dealers would tell you "we never heard of that happening". But since it involves 250, 350, and 450's that are very popular for towing, how would you like to be pulling your fiver down the super slap and the tailgate drops? I just am old school and don't see a need for an electric tailgate latch.
