RE: Nascar Follies

I'm sure Anhauser-Busch will do more with the pole award than Coors had been, but then some of the responsibility lies with FRANCCAR. Now Lowes will be leaving Jimmy Johnson and Hendrick after 2018. Of course Lowes had a lot of piggy backing sponsorship with some of their suppliers for several years and that will be hard to replace. Jimmy should do what Jeff did, finalize the Lazy-Boy tour and even more so the way finishes have been going.

RE: Nascar Follies

Yep, Thomas, I posted about the FRANCECAR air wrench deal awhile back. And again today it raised it's ugly head. Dr. Steve O'Donnell stated it was to keep teams from spending money to continue to develop quicker guns. Bottom line is FRANCECAR just wanted more control and they get the money the teams would have been using for R&D. If I was a team owner, if MY gun breaks, I'll bite the bullet, but if the rental goes down, I'd airmail it thru the FRANCECAR hauler door. The hierarchy just continues with bad decisions and lousy rules!

"Providers of racetracks", must be a new term for what used to be known as promoters. Come on Cloud, we all know you were one!

RE: Nascar Follies

Weren't the talking heads at Daytona last week spewing about the nice weather forecast for Atlanta this weekend? And with the rain, they even get to babble longer. On Fox but could end up on one of Fox's sub channels.

RE: Nascar Follies

No, they don't really need 40 cars but with the cautions for stage racing and the multiple overtime laps, they may be needed for some semblance of a finish. Also, bigger than that, is in the TV contracts with Fox and NBC, FRANCECAR must provide a starting field of 40 or money is docked from the contract. I can see back several years ago, when there was a field shortage, calls from HQ were made and some owners would load an extra car to bring to the track and was paid by FRANCECAR to do so happening again.

RE: kidde recall

I used the online recall form within a few days after the recall hit. About a month later, the replacement arrived via Fed Ex with the return shipping label in box. Placed the old one in the box and added shipping label, called Fed Ex and within 24 hours they picked up off the patio for return.

RE: Alaska - can it be done?

We went up in 2014 with our dually crew cab and 40' fifth wheel. Piece of cake. BUT you must budget in extra time for slow driving in certain areas of Canada and Alaska. Some will be missing pavement, others in repair with single lane and a pilot car. SLOW is good or you will have damage to the rig.

RE: Las Vegas campground recommendations

If you are an Elks Lodge member, the North Las Vegas Lodge and the Boulder City Lodge, both have RV parking. We use the Boulder City Lodge twice a year.

RE: Liquid roof.....so many reviews, good and bad

I would warn folks who see a product that is for rubber roofs, read the fine print on the container. Lowes is carrying a high end 5 gallon bucket of sealer. After reading the fine print, if using on an EPDM rubber roof, a primer must be applied before coating which of course isn't available at Lowes.

We are trailer trash but have quite a few motorhomer friends. This subject has been talked about for several years at happy hours and if came to be, which it has, "what would you do" Most of the folks that were FMCA members concurred that they would drop their membership. Of course some of these same folks are some that like "motorhome only parks". What I would watch is how will the trailer trash be accepted at the rallies, outside of the "Grand Poobahs" doing PR on the trailer attendees.

RE: Slide Stuck, Awning Stuck

TampaDave, several years ago I had about what sounds like the same issue. I watch outside while my wife extends the slides. Our large side started out but I could here it starting to bind up. Looked up quickly and saw the slide cover not rolling out and was getting so tight that you could have been able to play a tune on it. Hollered at her to stop which she did. I went up on our traveling ladder and the awning tube was tight. After "massaging" it a little, it finally stared to unroll and I heard something "pop". After it did come out I took thee assembly apart and found the spring mechanism was hanging up on a rivet. Drilled out that rivet, installed a slightly shorter rivet and it has been find since. I would say something is binding up your roller somewhere.

RE: Nascar Follies

Next question is what rules are the "Grand Poobahs" going to change between yesterday to Thursday for the "Twins", then following the "Twins" to Sunday? I'm sure Dr. Steve O'Donnel will let us know with a "spin" on it.

RE: Liquid roof.....so many reviews, good and bad

I just coated our EPDM rubber roof last Monday, Feb. 5th. with Liquid Roof. Preparation was a whole lot more time consuming then the application itself. It was recommended to me by another RVer that has done 4 or 5 trailers with rubber roofs and used Liquid Roof. He suggested that I clean all Dicor sealant that is around roof/cap joints, roof vents, etc. Used a rag with mineral spirits and wiped the Dicor clean. Now I did not remove the Dicor, just cleaned it off to it's original white. Cleaned very easily. Scrubbed roof 3 times, broomed off and dust mopped the roof the morning of the coating. Also, my roof radiuses down the side of the trailer about an 1 1/2 inch. So I masked the sides with masking tape and paper, down about 18 inches. Also partially covered slide awnings with paper. It was good I did, as the Liquid Roof is thick but yet like melted cheese on a pizza. Since the radius had to be done from a ladder with a 4" roller, it was a good thing I took the time to tape and paper. Sure saved a lot of clean-up. When coating the roof, I brushed the Liquid Roof around the vents, etc. Then several videos suggested using a squgee to distribute the coating after pouring out of bucket. Then rolling. Well I had a "foam" squeegee that didn't amount to a hoot. Threw it down off the roof and just dumped from the bucket and rolled the product. Went real good, took about 2 hours and 20 minutes for the 38' fiver. Looked at it Saturday, February 10. Turns I did do several places lightly. So, I just got off the phone with EPDM Coatings. They told me to wait 30 days to recoat which I'm going to do. I'm looking to preserve the roof and never had a leak problem. I don't care what it will look like, if someone wants to send their drone up to look, have at it. Have plenty of rags, maybe a back-up roller and some ground help. And have a good pair of sunglasses, I believe that is how I ended up with the light spots. The sun is extremely bright here in Arizona and my shades have faded over time. If I can be of any help just PM me.

Well here we go again. Qualifying played on regular Fox, then goes to the dogs and FS 1 gets the "Clash".

Hey,how about sharing them! Send them on a sabbatical to the Yuma, AZ. RV Park and concert circuit. I'm so sick and tired of "pickin and grinnin". The Bud Lite sure would go down better on the patio here at the VFW.

RE: RV solar installer in Northeast ??

Rbertlo, since you are coming to Arizona, there is no sales tax on solar products in state, and quite a few RV solar installers that do quality work. I wouldn't put any trust in an RV shop doing a solar install, especially the wiring, you know the routine, cheap and dirty.
