RE: Good Sam - what's in it for the campgrounds?

Man, oh man, been a long time since, probably a couple of years, since WesternRVParkOwner and I agreed to disagree. Brings back old times but this raised the hackles on my neck, classic consumer vs business owner!

RE: Onan 5500 fuel pump not priming

rsnawder, if you decide to change your fuel pump, Google- Airtex E11015. It is the same pump that Cummins/Onan wants big bucks for.

RE: Good Sam - what's in it for the campgrounds?

westernrvparkowner, it is only an imagination to you, a park owner. Ask the consumers to compare the rating and what is really there. Same with pictures, the pictures very rarely match what you see when you get on site. We were in a western Montana RV park several years ago when the Woodall ratings group pulled in. Had plenty of time to watch them. Next morning I approached one of the folks and asked how the laundry graded out. Couldn't tell me because they never set foot in it. Unfortunately to the consumer but fortunate to the park owner, low power so consumers just kept pouring quarters in it to get clothes semi-dry.

RE: Good Sam - what's in it for the campgrounds?

What we have found, when the book was "the thing", the bigger the ad purchased also got that park a better rating!

RE: Escapees?

Been members for 17 years plus the mail service. Excellent outfit, but if looking for campground discounts only, probably not worth it.

RE: Kidde Fire Extinguisher recall

They replaced mine way back when the recall was first posted. The new one came very quickly and stuffed the old one in the shipping box and either FedEx or UPS picked it up at the patio. Been awhile and sort of forgot about the recall until I saw your post.

RE: Going to the Sun Road

You know Dick B, as a frequent visitor and driving the "Going To The Sun" road, I'm a whole heck of a lot more worried about driving to and from Glacier National Park with all the brain dead drivers on public roads.

RE: Tips for Traveling with Other Couples

I know we wouldn't do it, but we are very independent, making no reservations, quitting for the day when we want to. Maybe we will move tomorrow or not. One thing to remember, some folks need to be baby sat. We do know of two couples who did the Alaska deal with two couples who where friends. But the friendship after returning never was the same. When we did Alaska in 2014 there is no way we would have anyone tagging along. Just our opinion. And like another poster brought up, what about breakdowns?

RE: Those with 50 amp 5er's

For 16 years of fulltiming never needed an 50 amp extension. That is until a month ago. Usually I'll just use our 30 amp extension but it was 100 plus degrees and sure needed the second AC. The new cord was needed because of the location of ped and I could only go back so far due to curbing, etc.

RE: Teton Pass Route 22

Ozlander of Rose Hill, check out the reader board on the Idaho side of the pass. It will tell you what I'm referring too.

sbell2003, I take it you had no moose run across the road in front of you?

RE: proper hook up procedure?

Always use wheel chocks! I've heard too many folks with veed truck beds say "but the ground looked level". The company I worked for, if you didn't chock, take the next day off in the street with no pay.

RE: 2019 Little League World Series

We were there in 1998 when Toms River, NJ. won it all. We lived in Chambersburg, PA. then, drove up for the final and what a great time. Not much of a baseball fan, but sure was enjoyable. And talking with folks seated around us was just great!

RE: Kids winning millions playing Esports

Thanks 8.1 Van. I didn't see that article. Keep the NCAA out of it. Their motto is "Don't do as I do, do as I say". The biggest two-faced organization in the US. I really believe in a number of years you will have to refer archives to see what they were. Mark Emmert, what a joke he is!

RE: front hitch

I have hauled bicycles on front ends of vehicles starting in 1974 Ford Pickup, then a 1984 Dodge Van, then a 1995 Dodge Cummins, and since 2003 on a Dodge Dually Quad Cummins. The hitch is from Hidden Hitch. It also serves as a tie down for two kayaks that ride on the roof of the dually.

RE: mail forwarding

We have used the service for 16 years without any problems. In fact we have a mail drop coming to Twin Falls, ID. this week.
