RE: Yellowstone 2020

We stay close to where you are staying. Get into the entrance gate at West before 9 AM and you will go thru very quickly. Too many folks can't seem to get out of the pancake houses' before 9:30 AM, sitting there getting a belly full and sucking up coffee. Get to the most popular places early and it will make it much simpler. There will be some hassles with a Class "C" at pull offs. And don't schedule times to be somewhere in the park as there will be animal back-ups, etc. If you are in a rush, don't even bother going in! This is what we have seen for the last ten summers while staying in the area for about six weeks at a time.

RE: Nascar Follies

But Cloud, has JJ been getting the best that Hendrick MS has to offer?? Or has it been scaled back and given to one of the younger drivers? We all know no matter what team, equipment and horsepower is not always equal across the team. And besides within the team, Chevy as a whole, has been sucking hind boobie.

RE: Union Pacific Big Boy

Big Boy was in Yuma, AZ. several weeks ago. It spent the night downtown, then left about 8 AM. It was amazing to see all the folks watching it along the way thru Yuma. We went out of town to the VFW parking lot along US 95. When we got there was already several cars and more kept coming. What was funny was watching traffic going both directions on US 95 with that look of "what is going on"?

RE: My daily trip to Walmart

We have seen it at the Twin Falls, ID., Henderson, NV. and here in Yuma, AZ. It seemed they were checking slips of folks that had unbagged items in their cart. 12 packs of soda, bags of dog food, etc.

RE: Los Algodones dentist?

I have used Drs. Camacho. It was a husband and wife but the kids are doing most of the work now. They are about directly across from the turnstile when crossing the border. You of course have to follow the sidewalk thru beside the bathrooms, then cross the street and go back north. There is another dental office just north of Dr. Camacho and then a restaurant we really like.

Bags, how much difference is the parking of Chase Young going to make, whether short or long term?

RE: Penske has deal to buy Indy racetrac,

Thomas I love the milk carton! When I read the news, I also remember when Roger unloaded tracks and at 82 getting back in. But it is going to be under "Penske Entertainment Group" and the Indy paper thinks that the track would be used for many other forms of entertainment sort of like the Las Vegas track is used. Future watching should be great.

RE: No one is heading south?

Well Barb, friends that have been coming in to Yuma for the last month report heavy southbound RV traffic. On Nov. 1 a street that intersects with four RV parks, the Yuma County Sheriffs Dept. probably should have sent out a deputy for traffic control. Motorhomes, fifth wheels going three different directions. Yesterday afternoon sitting out on the VFW patio on US 95 there was a fairly constant steady string of south bound RV traffic.

Ted, that reminds me that there is a Cracker Barrel in Chambersburg next to the interstate. Just off the RT 316 exit.

RE: Full-time in the Arizona heat

Depending how big your rig is determines a lot. 2 roof ACs in a large unit will be marginal. A friend of mine has 32' Artic Fox fiver. He put a window unit in and it made a big difference plus was much more efficient. Silver bubble paper in the windows also helps, the only drawback is it's like being in a cave. Put Styrofoam in the roof vents and put silver bubble in the shower dome. Never leave with your awning out. Wrap your water hoses with pipe insulation. You won't need to run your water heater. Also foam insulation on slide roofs helps keep some of the heat from the slide. The park has about 156 sites and about 8/10 fulltime residents.

RE: I'm In College Football Haven Over Here!

Thomas, yes, amazing to round up that money to send a coach down the road (DTR). And depending who the new hire may be, shoot, there might be a buyout to the place he is coming from. Thank goodness the players are soon going to get some kick back.

RE: Penske has deal to buy Indy racetrac,

If anybody bought the place, glad it is "The Captain. But at 82 years young, I really wonder what is down the road. My first thought was if he ever had a conversation with Brian?

RE: Places to stay for the night around Chambersburg PA

Don't know when you are coming thru but check to see if Twin Bridges is open during the winter. I lived in C-burg for 50 plus years before going fulltime. Been gone 16 years so can't comment on the other possibilities.

RE: Country Ham

Boy, good old country ham, not city ham. Whole smoked country ham is one ugly piece of meat. Used to get ours at Rotz's Meats on US 522 just out of McConnellesburg, Penna. Also had Thomas Brothers when doing racing in the Carolinas' Along with some red eye gravy. Fine dining! If you find any in Arizona. At least now we can usually get Lebanon Bologna. https://www.thomasbrothersham.com/shop
