RE: Do you have a bed liner?

I don't have a bedliner. My last two trucks had plastic bedliners. No rust in the bed. But I also stored the trucks in a barn/shop. My current truck does not have a bedliner. But the wife keeps telling me to get the spray on...I just haven't pulled the trigger.

RE: Anybody else have trouble packing for camping

I have an awesome wife and three wonderful girls. It doesn't matter how much I prep. I could prep a month out and there is still four hours of $%^& to put in the !@#$%^& camper the day of the trip!

RE: In-Coil Airbags

Try inflating the air bags without load. You should feel or see the truck raise when inflating. If that does not work then check for leaks.

RE: How cold can you go?

Our last camper was a 2006 Timberland RPM without an enclosed unbelly. We camped at 40* days and 20* nights for two nights. No problem. But I would do what RobWNY recommends...winterize and use the camp ground facilities.

RE: Gap year, family of 6, TV and TT recommendations

It can be done...but I wouldn't do it. My buddy uses a Ford E350 2015 with the 5.4 liter motor. Pulls a Bullet Ultra Light (Don't know the exact model). There are six of them. He hated towing over the Rockies. Another buddy has a 2015 F250 with the gas 6.0 pulling a Wolfpack (Don't know the exact model). There are five of them. He also hated pulling over the Rockies. He was doing 35MPH at 5500 RPMs in the truck lane. He told me this after they got back July 2019. You could start out with what you have. Since you are going for a year, is it in your budget to upgrade if you don't like your setup? Good luck.

RE: Looking for short toy hauler with slide

Just a quick google turned this one up: https://www.rvtrader.com/listing/2020-Winnebago-Spyder-23FS-5007680798 It is a 2020 23FS Winnebago Spyder with a slideout.

RE: Toy hauler for kayaks and bicycles

sometimes i look in the back of our pickup full of lawn chairs, bicycles, bbq etc etc and think a 5 wheel toy hauler would be easier than our travel trailer! Our first camper was a 1988 Prowler. We had it for 3 years. Our last two campers have been toy haulers (bumper pull) with all the fun stuff we carry.

RE: Toy hauler for kayaks and bicycles

We have used our toy hauler to move an entire bedroom suite...I forgot about that one.

Toy hauler for kayaks and bicycles

Any one else by us use their toy hauler for kayaks and bicycles instead of motorcycles and side by sides? I had a guy look in my toy hauler while he drove by and said, "I figured there'd by a Harley in there!"

Late check out

So this past weekend we got reservations a month ago for Friday thru Monday. Sunday afternoon I asked the camp ground owner if we could get a late checkout. He obliged. I told him that if there were people coming that we would leave. It's an 11:00 AM checkout. He said he would put them in the next site until we leave...we were planning to leave by 2:00 PM. The reason is the wife and I wanted to ride some more mountain bike trails, make brunch, shower and pack/leave. Well, the people showed up at noon. We were in the process of packing. They parked in the site next to us. I approached them and apologized. I told them we had permission to get late checkout...and that we were hurrying to get packed/leave. The lady proceeds to tell me that we were in their spot. Duh! She also tells me that they were supposed to be there Sunday. I didn't respond and just apologized again. They left in the car that was following the truck and fifth wheel. We were gone by 12:55 PM. Any body ever ask for a late check out? This is our second time asking. Never been turned down. On our invoice it states 3:00 PM arrival. There is no checkin time anywhere on the campground web site policy.

RE: How to deal with grease on ball of receiver

I've used a Styrofoam coffee cup for years. Stays on the ball going down the road and exceptionally cheap:B Nice!

RE: Lower Michigan west coast druthers

If you don't need water / sewer your battery(s) should last one night. Just boondock close to the place you want to enjoy.

RE: Things getting out of hand

So you've used it once in June and this weekend will be your second trip this year?

RE: My first post - I'm new to trailers and need some input

Buy a used trailer and start camping close to home for the first year. Work out all the bugs. You'll be glad you did. You're right...lots of the answers you'll get will be "It depends".
