RE: CC&R dated 1973 says no RVs, trailers, boats can be stored

I had that problem when I moved into my condo. I could not bring it home to load it. There is no place for storage so that is not a question I got on the board and then president. We had to redo our master deed ad by-laws and it got 3 days before and after a trip for loading ad unloading. Everyone approved when we voted on it. (182 8uits). I am still president 15 years later.

RE: I Was Stimulated Today

I got my stimulus money on the 4th. Do Y'all think there will be a 3rd round of stimulus money forthcoming? With the VA declaring me dead when I reported my Wife's death, it did nor come a minute too soon. I am working feverishly to get that corrected. I have been declared dead twice. One time the insurance co. I worked for turned me in to the state Ins Comm. as deceased. It makes it difficult to transfer your license when you are dead. The second time a fellow with the same name and living in our neighborhood also, died. I was the Church organist and as one lady walked past the organ console on the way out she said I saw you died and went to the funeral home. It wasn't you, and she was glad. I never did finish that postlude because I was laughing so hard.

RE: How do you transport your mobioity scooter

I have had a Travel Scoot for 5 years now. 35# to lift into my Equinox. It folds if necessary. It goes on airplanes and I ride to the plane door. It gets picked up and always there when I get off the plane. The light weight enables it to go where others can't go. My big heavy one is in the garage, unused for the last 5 years.

RE: Remember when tv

We got our first TV in 1949. People said we were going to ruin our eyes when we got the 12.5" screen. 10" was big enough. We got our first color in 1964, an Admiral 25". We were fortunate to live in Detroit. Windsor, Ontario was just South of us and we could watch channel 9 so we got 4 channels before UHF came into use. Yes, to you doubters. To get to Canada from Detroit you go South.

RE: Great time to Sell Your RV!

I was at Holland Motor Homes last week and they had no motorhomes for sale. Their last used one was sold to someone in Pennsylvania and they had no new ones left.

RE: Friend is looking to get into rv.. check this site out ??

Mt. Clemens, MI. was literally my back yard for 37 years before moving to Holland, MI. I checked and the BBB has nothing listing them. FRAUD! I was at Holland Motor Homes the other day and they were complaining of the shortage of available motorhomes, new and used. I am sure they would know of any auctions.

RE: Oil change + replace battery, which comes first ?

It is that starting for a few minutes to warm it up and then shutting it off is what helps to build up moisture in the oil. Getting the whole engine totally warmed up will get the moisture hot enough to evaporate. UNLESS YOU HAVE EXCESSIVE MOISTURE DILUTING YOUR OIL I WOULDN'T WORRY ABOUT IT.

RE: What about driving a diesel pusher?

If you ever drove a Blue Bird bus they loved switches and they had enough left for their motorhomes. My daughter's family had 2 Bluebirds and they had switches. Most that I have seen on DPs never come close to Bluebirds.

RE: I Hope This Doesn't Get Taken Down Right Away

I was working at ARA. They had vending machines in all the auto plants in and around Detroit. I was working on a different project for them Mold a Rama was a plastic injection machine under a big plastic bubble. I was prepping a machine that made a bronze colored bust of President Kennedy to take to the Sears store in Highhland Park MI. My boss came up to me and told me about President Kennedy. We decided to hold off installation. Demand was so high that we had to put it in place a couple days later. I was trying to move that weekend and had the Co. truck. As I would go near the Sears store I would have to stop to remove the money and refill the plastic about 3 times a day. There was always a line for that machine for about 2 weeks. They gave up on he machines as not profitable enough. I tried to buy them but they put them in a field in Wilkes-Barre, PA to rust away and said they made more that way than selling them. I still see some in museums and airports.

RE: Honest RV Dealers - Are there any?

I have been RVing since September of 1969 with TTs, pop-ups and A,B,&C motorhomes. I just bought my 3rd motorhome (used) from General RV. For me service has been great, which is why I keep going back. My salesman moves from Grand Rapids area to Ocala for winters. Jeff. This is probably my last MH purchase since I am 82 years old now.

RE: Maritmes phone coverage

I have Verizon unlimited service so I can use my phone in US and Canada. No switching of any kind. Personally I will NEVER have anything to do with AT&T after the ripoff I got when they installed my worthless satellite TV service.

RE: Where to buy roses

I didn't have to buy my wife flowers because we always had a cat or two and they seemed to destroy the flowers in a short time. We did get to 55 years so I saved a lot. Try giving her a cat instead.

RE: Should I buy a Class C or not for this specific situation?

I just bought a 1999 Challenger 31'. I went for a Class A for several reasons. Water tanks are inside heated basements in most cases, I don't have to reach under the MH to dump tanks, They are less prone to leaks in the cabover section. I gave had A,s B, and C. over 51 years of RVing, as well as TT, pop=ups and a Hi-Lo. I didn't want to spend much money at my age (82) so when I have to sell it I won't lose much.

RE: New to me 1979 Dodge Fireball

My first MH was a Fireball and I have not heard of one until now. I bought a '76 in '86 and traded it in '89. Mine was 20.5'When I traded it in the dealer later told me they sold it 3 seperate times and every time they brought it back for a larger one.

I am buying a 1999 Damon Challenger and wondering about the transmission. Is it 4 or 5 speed? Thanks.

RE: Are other drivers killing your RV experience?

At 65 you are a youngster. I just bought my 8th, motorhome yesterday and I am 82. i have had RVs since 1969 and just sold my Road Trek a month ago thinking I was through. Once the bug gets you you are hooked. When it comes to driving you haven't lived until you are in Toronto on the 401. Trucks aree the big speeders there. Fortunately I know most of the back roads in Ontario and avoid Toronto unless I am going to a relative that lives here. Most of my relatives are in Pembroke and Petawawa and I can avoid Toronto. Atlanta is horrible. When I retired, back io 1994 I drove tour buses for fun and got 45' coaches to most of the big cities. A motorhome doesn't scare me.
