I heard that DQ sold the settlement out to Wendy's for small Frostys.

RE: Substancial deposit required

With DW's parents both at 89 and all grades of medical catastrophes last year we can't reserve much until the last minute. With the booming numbers of new rvers that doesn't leave much. We'll manage a short trip here or there and that's ok for now but no nonrefundable reservations. I don't blame the CG owners, they have a business to run. No different than a restaurant that refuses reservations or spends the evening watching over a half empty place.

RE: TV went out, easy fix.

I know how to check source before I call for help. Spectrum tech went right to hdmi after I told her what I had already checked. This was all on a phone call BTW. I have a neighbor who has lost 3 out of 4 hdmi ports on one of his tvs. It must be fairly common for tech support to go right to it. I had just never heard of it and wanted to share.

TV went out, easy fix.

Some of you will know this but it may help others. Our 2 TV cable set up at the house went up. One worked, the other had no signal. After following the turn off unplug protocols from other outages I called tech. Told me to switch HDMI ports on the TV. Bingo! Evidently they go bad, who knew.

RE: Great new electrical connectors

14g wire in a hole that can take 12g starts fires. Ask any insurance claims adjuster.

RE: No Reception on TV

If you have a bedroom tv the booster should be in that area so that it can feed multiple tvs.

New to is mysteries

Our new to us 2014 Forest River Blue Ridge 3025RL has 2 mysteries I need some help on. There were no manuals in the unit when we bought it last week. This unit has a fresh, gray, and black tank. There is a door on the road side behind the propane door that contains a gray and a black tank pull handle along with other plumbing controls. The mystery is that about 4 feet back on the skirting is a round access door that unscrews and accesses a third pull handle that is labeled as the other gray handle is. The fresh drain is clear back by the rear bumper on the road side. Anybody know what and why that is there? No second BTW and all specs on the web list only one 60 gallon gray tank. The other mystery is the factory speaker system. There are 3 speaker choices and all can be on or chosen by themselves. A is the living room roof speakers and C is the storage bay fold down speakers on the curb side. B plays music but the speakers are inside the road side living slide somewhere which makes no sense. There are no grilles inside or outside on the slide (open at the time) and they sound like they are serenading the refer. Just curious on this question. Thanks for any guidance.

RE: Self Driving 18 wheeler Going 75 MPH

I'm seeing that most truckers are now doing the speed limit. Is this a result of the electronic/gps/clock/4G internet log books now in use?

RE: Fresh Tank Filling on City Water

Bucky, and if upon arrival no water is available? I never leave home or a campground without a full fresh water tank if available. If a TV and/or TT can’t handle the weight, someone bought the wrong TV and/or TT. Lots of beautiful DRY campgrounds in the West. Good point. I usually only travel with enough for potty stops if needed.

RE: Ideas wanted to secure non fixed kitchen island

Sweet thing is resisting the fixed option but your votes can get it done. Thanks

RE: Fresh Tank Filling on City Water

I always fill the fresh tank upon arrival. It only took once to learn that lesson when the park shut the water off to fix a leak or whatever. The older the park the higher the chances.

RE: Illinois state park alcohol rules

Plenty of commercial CGs that would appreciate the business. And Plenty of people who avoid commercial CG's by rule who do not like parking lots, lights, the awning scraping the neighbors rig, golf cart races, and bingo. Not disputing your account of what happened. However I won't change my approach until I experience the beer Nazis first hand. Nor would I expect you would. As I said thats the only time I have ever experienced that in many years of going to state parks in many different states, including MD. At the time I suspected new guys as they looked really young, with Barney Fife syndrome. I only meant in Illinois. We prefer state and federal parks.

RE: Is Socializing a Dying Thing in the RV Community?

We've met some great people in our travels. We've also not met some great people as they didn't want to be met. We've also not met some bad people as they didn't want to be met. I tend to check license plates, locals tend to be weekenders just trying to get some R and R before Monday rolls around again. We once were them so I get it. Over all I think it's about the same as it always was during the weekdays. Quiet and mostly friendly.
