RE: Pulled to the left when being passed by Big Rigs

Your not privileged, it happens to my Class C too, I'm sure it happens to other classes too. Sometimes it's only a little, other times it makes you get a tighter grip on the wheel. :E

RE: Very high aurora forecast for Aug 18

Forecast for central Idaho is cloudy, which is a shame. That happens all the time to us, every time there is an eclipse or some other Celestial Phenomenon, always cloudy. :(

RE: Very high aurora forecast for Aug 18

Would be nice to see them again, maybe for the last time. Saw them once a lot of years ago, (maybe 45years +/- ) while fishing one night in Northern NY.

RE: How to keep outdoor refrigerator door open

if what you do works, I'd stick with it.

RE: No Power Thru the Power Cord into the Rig

Are you absolutely positive that there is Power at the outlet on the garage? You are using an adapter, so I assume it's a 15A outlet. Try plugging something else into it.

RE: Looking for quick overnight near Richmond VA

Winchester Va. I think it’s called Candy Land or something like that. On I-81 bypass. I have stayed there a couple of times. When we lived in MD we stayed there a few times. Good suggestion but I think maybe an hour longer than we want to go on day 1. Plus I'd have to manage the Fredericksburg,17,66 fiasco around rush hour based on our timing. Thanks though, it's a good suggestion otherwise. Appreciate it. If they ever get the construction finished on 95, getting on 17 shouldn't be the goat rope that it currently is.

RE: Panic Water buying Again?

Are you sure it's panic buying and not a supply chain issue to re-stock the shelves? Supply would be my first guess, our WalMart will be stocked full of various items, including water, the next week, there's none to be found, totally empty shelves, next week shelves are full again to the point that pallets are setting in the isle.

RE: Boondocking Devastation

Not the way you want to see logging done, glad there were no injuries.

RE: Glacier NP

In 2015, we stayed on the East side at Two Medicine CG, and loved it, it's rather remote and quiet, no hookups, but there is a water fill & dump station, flush bathrooms but no showers. We stayed 4 days, gorgeous scenery, it's first come first served, so get there Early in the morning, we got there at 7am and waited for someone to leave and jumped right into the site as they were pulling out, then went to register. We would definitely stay there again. https://images34.fotki.com/v1522/photos/7/1474187/13835297/photo48-vi.jpg height=400 width=650

RE: 5th wheel & Half-ton TV Thoughts

"the dealership says he'll be fine..." Of course they do! Dealer wants to make a sale.He won't be fine with 95% of all 5ers. TOO much pin weight. One can modify their truck (even those of us who are not automotive engineers) but one can't increase the manufacturer's max weight. What I believe your friend really did was modify the truck to make it level. Remember, generally speaking, if their lips are moving, their lying.

RE: RV that makes it's own water!

Are these the same Hofmann's that tried gold mining in Alaska? If so I guess that didn't pan out? Ba Da Ching. How do you cram enough stuff worth about $300K into what is basically a 26' aluminum cargo trailer? 24kt rivets? You don't, or can't, not even if it wipes your arse, as PButler96 so eloquently put it.

RE: Can't post signature photo

Try converting the GIF file to a JPG, GIFs can be problematic at times. If you have Photoshop, it is easy to do, open with GIF photoshop, then select "save as" and select JPG then save.. Windows photoviewer might be able to do something similar. Lots of free software that can make the conversion for you if you don't have photoshop or graphics editor handy.Nope, my map is in JPG but comes up with the same error message.

A well documented problem, nothing gets done about it.

RE: Just checking in

Not one bit! We did not get a travel trailer to save money but to enjoy the world around us. Yes, overnight at a campground is way cheaper than a hotel but it takes a lot of camping to cover the initial cost of the rv and the added cost of fuel. Like any hobby, the only true return is the enjoyment it gives you. AMEN !!

RE: Favorite way to skip the interstates?

We still have an road atlas from 2000 and still use it a lot if Seri can't talk with a satellite. I guess I am spoiled to the interstatesunless I am in the 'relax and see the country' mode. Us too, we are generally destination travelers, getting there is the first priority, then we'll relax.

RE: one more thing to worry about

I don't leave my wallet Or Credit cards in the vehicle, makes them rather hard to use in the store. And I'm still waiting for someone explain what the L shaped thing is, evidently, I don't have one, or never forgot it in the car. :R

RE: Gray Tank Smell (Seriously annoying)

You mentioned that you get the smell with the AC running, do you get the same smell from the sink area Without the AC on?

RE: Rte 2 Across Vermont, New Hampshire into Maine

Wondering if anyone has driving this. We'' be coming form Burlington VT heading east bound. Wondering about bridges along the way or any other tidbits that should be made aware of. Considering mid to late October. Thx Happy TrailsHave done Rt 2 a few times, no problems, Know that many, if not most campgrounds in New England close around Columbus Day, I'm sure there may be a few that don't.

RE: New Host Everest

Great report! Thanks for posting this. Are you comfortable crawling in and out of the bed and is your age a factor? I'm asking because we are in our mid 60's and someday when we get to the point of not wanting to hook up our FW, we've thought of a Host, but will we be "too old" to climb up and down into the bed. I know health is a huge factor and right now we are relatively limber and healthy. Besides the age & health factors, how in the world do make that bed, my DW has a fit making the queen in our class C even though she can get around both sides.
