RE: Trying to beat the rain... Air Up.. Best of the best

Yep, Pismo Beach was my spot 20 miles south of me. Never saw anyone surf fishing though. Mainly clamming or terrorizing the dunes. Started getting real crowded around 1990 with all the sand people from the central valley coming over for cooler weather. We would have motorcycles and quad runners and dune buggies but we always brought our own compressor and generator to air up. Sort of like being self sufficient. There is talk of closing Pismo in a year due to the snowy plover,(bird). I would expect a lot of toyhaulers to hit the market.

RE: Trying to beat the rain... Air Up.. Best of the best

Yeah, guess not. Never thought of airing up for drizzle. I did have a 1967 cj5 that I had 11 “ wide high flotation implement tires. For the sand dunes. You wouldn’t understand.

RE: Off grid for first time, need some guidance !

Keep in mind everyone loves to spend your money. 4 gc2 batteries and 400watts of solar and a 2000 watt inverter. Even though you don’t need it and probably never will. Use what you have and you will be fine.

Take the Honda and on eco it is quiet. Squeeze out 2 hours from 11am till 1pm. The two extra batteries will be for emergency.)

Why are you airing up? Do you have leaky tires?

RE: Wood Laminate Floor Install

Wood laminate is heavy and probably 1/2" thick which may interfere with bathroom door and slides. Home depot has some snap together stuff that is thin and light weight that may be a better option. It wont 't be getting the use that a house does so it should last.

RE: Water leaking from overflow valve on city water

The pump has a check valve to keep water from going to the fresh water tank. It sounds like it is bad and allowing water into the fresh and out the drain. Fill the fresh tank and use the pump and no city water for this trip Edit: the two valves you mention are probably the low point drains for both hot and cold. Close them.

RE: Why put the fridge in the slide out?

I agree with NRALIFR. No flex for gas, drain, hot and cold and electric. The less movement on these the better.

RE: Canada opens land border and more airports to US visitors

I have a passport and a vaccination card that states I have two shots but that isn't good enough? I have two aunts/uncles and a slew of cousins in Victoria, B.C. that I would like to visit.

Sounds like they don’t want us there. Keep your money in the states.

RE: Tongue jack clicking

Wouldn’t the motor still spin? It is still spinning, but the jack isn't going down. You said clicking.

RE: Still very tempting to buy my totaled TT back

I just replaced my tongue jack with a Husky hb3000 from adventure rv for 200. I would also replace the awning as I use mine every trip from hot sun to rain. Good to here it’s working for you. My son is looking for a wolfpup 17jg but they are hard to find.

RE: r v with a group

How about just talking to people on either side of you or across the drive. You will find out quickly who wants to talk.

RE: If you can't decide if you want an RV or a boat

Awhile back there was something called a boaterhome where the boat part separated from the chassis. The boat part was the living space of the rig when secured.
