RE: Dometic Power Awning Pro Beeping and Clicking

The Dometic power awning doesn't work properly in sub freezing temperatures, regardless of water intrusion. If the temperature drops below freezing, I usually turn mine off until it gets warmer. However, I try to not be in a place where it gets that cold.

RE: Tampa RV Show

I've been to both, and in my opinion, the Tampa show has more stuff to look at. I just visited the Hershey show, and seems like they only had about 2/3 of the non-dealer vendors as the Tampa show. I didn't look at all the RV dealer areas, but seemed like the class A areas at Hershey was about the same as Tampa. I do know that Tampa has a large selection of pull behinds. They don't have trucks to pull 5ers with much representation, if any.

RE: Long route travel plans

Our no time line started with pointing our compass NE from central Fl. We zig zagged across the US to Washington and then went on to Alaska. Took route 2 from Montana to Michigan then down the East coast. Took about 4 months. We never planned a thing and would never plan a trip. If you pointed your compass NE from Florida and wound up in Washington state and Alaska, you should get a new compass. :)

RE: Windshield sunscreen

Magneshade. We bought them 5 years ago, and have never regretted it. They are not cheap, but they are worth every penny. Easy up, and easy off. It cuts the heat coming in through the windshield. We also have the day/night MCD shades on the inside, but the Magneshade works wonders on cutting the heat that the inside shades can't do.

RE: Replacement Shower Head

You can pick up an on/off valve for showerheads at just about any hardware store for under $10. Here's one from Lowe's: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Danco-ABS-1-2-in-FIP-x-1-2-in-MHT-Half-Turn-Straight-Valve/3434836

RE: Homemade Tire Scale

I am intrigued by this. Does the 4 x 5000 kit only weigh up to 5,000# in total, or would it report weights up to 20,000#?

RE: AT&T anounces truly unlimited wireless data plan

I got all excited until I clicked on the link and learned that hotspot data is limited to 40gb per month. Per the article, unlimited hotspot data is a pipe dream.

RE: When does DEF fluid go bad.

When we got stuck for an extended period of time due to the plague, I drained our DEF tank using a siphon hose, and replaced the fluid with fresh juice before we started out. We were in central Florida, so there were lots of hot days, and that is a killer for DEF longevity.

RE: Florida State Parks increasing fees.

Note that that's for "non-registered day use" of the site with utilities. It's not applicable to ordinary camping (i.e. registered campers). There's no additional (separate) utility fee for camping beyond the fee for the site, which of course varies based on the utilities and amenities available at the site, among other things. If you want to drive your electric car in and charge it at a camp site while wandering around the park, or something like that, then it will be $7.00. The letter states "Non-registered, day-use sites per unit per day, all campsites with electric and water service and all cabins." That means it's applicable to ordinary campsites that have electric and water hookups. Doesn't matter if you plug your electric vehicle in or not, you still have to pay the $7/day fee.
