RE: Star Trek Themed Trip

If you head down south, check out the Nuetral Zone Studios, where the series Star Trek Continues was filmed in Kingsland, GA, just north of Jacksonville, FL. They still have the recreated sets from TOS on display and available for tours.

RE: Kanab, Utah 84741

Grand Plateau RV Resort is fairly new, with nice wide flat sites. We stayed there for 4 days in September and really enjoyed it.

RE: RVIA Certificate?

You could probably just give them your PWA registration number. The campground is most likely just trying to keep home built units out of their park.

RE: Pet Peeves in RV Parks

I hate arriving at my campsite to find trash in the firepit. It's a firepit, not a burning barrel, or ash tray. Some people like to roast wieners and marshmallows over the campfire, without having to clear out the previous camper's empty soda cans, chip packages and dirty diapers.

RE: Tampa-St Pete-Clear Water In Jan

It probably depends on when in January. The Tampa RV supershow is going on January 18 - 22, and the rv parks are booked up for then. You might check with Lazydays in Seffner to see if they have availability.

RE: Finding a long-term, month-to-month type RV site?

One of the first things the park will ask you, is how long is your rig? Hopefully you'll have an idea as to about how long of an RV you will be getting, so you can help them find the right spot for you. You can do a Google Maps search for RV parks, or use the Good Sam's trip planner tool, or RV Trip Wizard. They will have links to websites for the parks in your area, and you can look at those to find the parks that offer long term rates.

RE: America's first automated RV park

I've stayed at that park. It was a bit pricey for what it is, but it was very convenient. Water and electric worked fine. There were large boulders at the front of the sites, and you really have to watch your exit turn out of your space. Someone that had been in the site next to mine didn't, and drug the boulder a few feet, plus lost some of the fender area from their 5th wheel.

RE: Fence for Dog

We have used metal exersize pensl for many years. We extend them around the patio to create our own play yard. To keep the pups from going under the steps, I made a thing out of lattice from the hardware store where I cut out slots that fit around the step frames. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-L8uGGdtNUyE/Vj_A_kFlqBI/AAAAAAAABWI/TsPnefQ1jqY/s1600/IMG_20151108_094557.jpg width=640

RE: Corps of Engineers changing host policy

I don't know the accuracy of this, but I've been told by people who camp host at some of COE parks where we've stayed, that the policies on paying camp hosts is up to the Ranger in charge of the lake or region where the park is located. A few miles down the road at a different lake or region, the policies can be entirely different.

RE: Domicile

You can get your Florida mailing address without establishing a domicile. Its' just a place where you have mail sent, not where you live. At any point after that, you can use your mailing address to establish your domicile. We got our address about 3 months before we domiciled. We changed our address to the Florida mail service on our credit union account, and a couple of weeks later printed off a credit union statement with that address on it. We also changed our cell phone address to the Florida mail service address, and printed off a statement. A couple of months later, we had those statement copies, along with all the other documents needed to establish Florida residency, and took them to the county clerk office in Florida to get our vehicle tags, drivers licenses, and voter registration on the same day.

RE: MicroAir Easy Touch Thermostat

Yes, you can turn off the display. I did on mine, but don't remember exactly how I did it. It's not the "night" display option, which just dims it. I do remember you can set it through the settings menu on the display screen, not the phone app. Not sure what you mean by the "freeze" reading. Are you talking about the "cool" function that is represented by a snowflake? That just means the air conditioner mode.
