RE: Memory seats

We mostly use it with my wife's Enclave because we both drive it. My truck has it but I only use it when vacuuming under the seat. It just makes it easy to get back in the right spot.

RE: Anyone use a battery operated blower?

I bought one from Harbor Freight a few years ago and it is awesome!

RE: Interesting dog names

My dad was a firefighter for over 20 years. Well, they ALL loved the soap operas and my dad named all of our pets after characters from Days of Our Lives, LOL!

RE: RV Manners Matter

I was the offender here, but I do not know if there is a way to avoid it. When starting charcoal for the grill, try to avoid blowing smoke on the neighbors. Again, I don't know how this could have been avoided. We were packed in pretty close and I couldn't go to another site to start my charcoal. I could hear them loudly coughing and getting annoyed. I apologized. After the coals caught the smoke died down but I was still embarrassed.

RE: When to change oil

2011 Silverado 1500 2WD. I wait until the truck tells me it's time (7K+ miles). I do feel guilty sometimes. My old truck (2000 Z71) would get new oil/filter every 5K miles. My old daily driver (91 Camaro) would get changed every 3K miles. It amazes me how far you can go with today's oil.....

RE: Inflated hopes for EV P/U

One thing I like to compare it to is back when we were using Horses to haul things. Then the "car" came about and the horse and carriage users probably thought he same way we are now about the EV. But we eventually got to where we are today. I believe that somewhere down the road EV will be able to go farther, charge quicker (and hopefully cleaner), and be able to tow heavy loads. Technology is rapidly changing and to think EV are just a fad is IMO very ignorant. It may not be in our lifetime, but one day the technology will be there.

RE: Want your opinion

We are going through this same scenario. Our 1995 5ver needed A LOT of work. I figured we could fix it for far less than a new camper would cost us (we really don't know how much its going to cost). Ask me in a year if it was worth it, LOL!

RE: Rubber bumper suspension stops

That appears to be too close, IMO. What is the truck model? I assume the camper is attached? What about cargo in the bed and passengers?

RE: Maybe a new low?

Dayum! I would definitely send that pic to the head of the MFR. Send a copy to the ADA as well.

RE: Run on gas

I am in the midlands of SC and most of our gas stations are limiting purchases to $20. It's always something.....

RE: Camper Overhaul?

Give 'er a good bath (top to bottom) and get some new Dicor for the roof seams. Clean out the window weep holes. Look for any wasp nests.

RE: Forced out of your reservation

Nope! Did not read the comments. Only watched the video. I do not expect an answer to this but why did he not include that in his video? He will likely give an updated video with the new information. I have been a subscriber to his channel for a long time and he does well with following up about stuff. I feel like he handled it well considering the trip was never made. If he had loaded up and pulled to the CG only to find he had no spot I believe his reaction would have been different.

RE: Restoration begins!

Please do keep posting on this project. But the part from :40 to 3:15 should be cut out altogether. Nobody wants to have to sit through that. Going high speed for the unloading for the last couple of minute is a nice touch, but it too went on way too long. 30 seconds of that would be plenty. This is not intended to offend or insult, just constructive criticism. It's going to be an interesting project with the potential of getting a very nice camper at the end. Your criticism is greatly appreciated! We are definitely learning as we go forward with this process!

RE: Restoration begins!

We were able to get some more work done this past Sunday. We removed the jack-knife sofa, end tables, rear cabinets (along with the ceiling), dinette, slide carpet, most of the rear windows, and lastly, the slide itself. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51139810736_fb0d5103cb_z.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51139135432_b086ba55dc_z.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51140584554_eb6c0aac7c_z.jpg We should get more work done Wednesday and hopefully I will have a new video uploaded!

RE: Restoration begins!

I THINK that will be a pretty cool project and wish you luck. However I could not continue watching, way to much time opening an awning, could have skipped all that. Good luck. Thank you for your input! We are still getting the hang of making the videos and editing them. Hopefully our future videos are a little bit better, LOL! Update: I sped up the clip a little. Maybe it's a little easier to watch, LOL!

Restoration begins!

My wife and I started to restore our 1995 Coachmen Catalina yesterday. We got the camper from my parents 6 years ago and we have thoroughly enjoyed it! However, because of the "pandemic" we had not used it for a long time and well, issues that we should have addressed festered into un-usable conditions. So we are gutting it to make it like-new again! We hope to give weekly updates on our Youtube channel. Coachmen Catalina Restoration

RE: Painting ideas

Just for kicks, do you not like the original or just want a change? It is faded pretty bad.

Painting ideas

We have decided to fix up our 1995 Coachmen Catalina Fiver and this will entail a paint job. I will be doing the work myself but I am curious if anyone out there wouldn't mind sharing your own results from painting. Here is a picture of what we are working with. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51120443795_a75ae08991_o.jpg
