RE: Uneven Dually tire wear

So have you been rotating the tires? I would put the spare tire on and see what happens to it.
It is time for 6 or 7 new tires.

RE: Solar expert please help me understand

I unplugged my converter 8 years ago when I installed my solar. It has been a couple years since I have be in a RV park but if I was my batteries would be charging from solar not the power post. I most likely would be plugged into the power post to run a heater or air conditioning.

RE: New Dually - Need Hitch, Toolbox, Rolling Cover Advice

I love my B&W hitch but mine is before the puck system and kind of hard to remove.
I don't know if you plan on doing much boondocking but if you do you might want to think about adding a 50 gallon water tank at the front of the bed and a rear tool box built for a 5th wheel.

RE: Solar Questions

I unplugged my converter seven years ago. My solar keeps my batteries charged.
You can leave stuff plugged in when you power on your inverter. Your satellite dish will need to reboot after you turn the inverter on.
I clean my panels with soap and water a couple times a year.

RE: Battery Percentage Before Charging.

This way a shunt based battery meter is so much better than reading battery voltage. When I checked this morning I'm at 81% SOC. My voltage is 12.2.
My batteries started charging when the sun came up.

RE: Boondocking and working with no electricity

The simple solution is to stop working. I stopped 12 years ago and now I can enjoy life. The next best option is to spend less $$ on gas and buy some batteries, battery monitor, inverter, solar panels, and controller.

RE: How to run exterior cable for wired backup camera?

I have a wireless backup camera but if I was to have a wired camera I would either use the RV's tail lights, back up lights or run conduit along the frame for power.

RE: ..Looking for a new air compressor for the MH tires etc..

There are a lot of 12 volt options for airing up a tire. Why use a 120 volt option that would require using the generator or inverter?
Have you looked at VIAIR?

RE: DYI Electric brakes

With only 15K on them your brakes should still be in very good condition. If you have standard wheel bearings then it's time to clean and repack them.

RE: help furnace again

I had the same problem and did not figure it out until the wife complained about the low flame on the stove, then I replaced the propane regulator to fix the stove. I then tried the furnace again and it works great.

RE: Advice on towing a 5th wheel

The overall length of a truck and 5th wheel would be 3-4 feet shorter than a truck and trailer.
The truck and 5th wheel can turn a much tighter turn then a truck and trailer.
There has only been a few times that I have had issues at a fuel station and it has to do with the height of the 5th wheel. I was still able to get fuel but I had to back out of the fuel dock.
If you go with a 5th wheel I would recommend getting a truck with a 8 foot box.

I have the Garmin 770RV. It has some nice features but I don't trust it to take me on the best route so I also use my I phone with Waze.
