RE: Newbie - 36ft vs 41ft fifth wheel

Towing you will not notice much difference but parking it you will notice a big difference.

RE: Trailer Directional not working

There are no fuses on the trailer for the brake lights, turn signals or taillights, these are all powered by the truck. Some trucks do have separate fuses for the trailer lights.
I would start checking at the 7-pin connecter and work back to the taillight bulb connections.

RE: Intermittent heater no fire issue

I had a similar problem with my furnace for a couple years, then the wife stated telling me that the flame on the range was very low. The interesting thing is that the fridge and water heater both worked fine on propane. To fix the low flame problem I replaced the propane regulator, then I decided to try the furnace and it fired up and has been working great.

RE: B&W Companion question

I have had mine bind when trying to unhitch, when this happens, I leave the landing gear down and put the transmission in neutral to release the pressure on the hitch.

RE: Rotten egg smell, again???

If you have flooded lead acid batteries, you should check the water level.

RE: tire time

Buy a LT (truck) tire instead of a ST (trailer} tire.

RE: Overhead oven fan not working in trailer

If you don't want to blow up your trailer you should install a new propane detector like the one that you ripped out. The C02 detector will not detect a propane leak.

RE: Observation--newer trucks tow fivers a bit nose high

My new 3500HD truck is 4" taller than my old 3500HD truck. It's kind of crazy how tall these trucks are getting.

RE: Arctic Fox 1150 onboard batteries

Most likely you blew a fuse on your truck, check the 7 pin connector for 12 volt power.

RE: Trailersavor vs Anderson Ultimate

You may think that the Anderson is easy to hook up but wait until you back up too far and push your tailgate into your trailer.

RE: Decal removal replacement

We removed our decals and had the trailer polished. Even after the polish you could still see the location of the old decals. We never installed new decals and we are happy with our white ghost trailer.

RE: Tank cleaning wand - how much water does it leave?

3 to 5 gallons per minute of use is what you would get out of your water hose but with a spray nozzle on the end it might be half of that. I would think that you could drain the tank into a 5-gallon bucket when you are done cleaning the tank, then dump the bucket into the toilet in your house.

RE: Alignment shop

Take it to a truck frame and alignment shop. You should also check and/or replace the leafspring bushings and shackles with a wet bolt kit.

RE: Battery disconnect - switch or fuse?

I use a battery switch like bob213 linked to but mine is on the positive cable. I never shut this switch off unless I'm working on the 12-volt battery system.

RE: Water Issue

I agree with your neighbor that this problem may fix itself. By removing the city water pressure and running the water pump it will flush out the calcium that is stuck in the check valve.

RE: Diesel fuel prices … how is that affecting your RV travel ?

I expect diesel to keep going up until summer is over then it might drop a bit. By next year you will be happy to $6 per gallon.
I just bought a new truck, so I still plan on towing the 5th wheel.

RE: RV Generator

It looks like you can still buy them.
What the Golden State did was ban the sale of gas-powered generators starting on January 1, 2028. It's still totally legal to possess a gas-powered generator and operate it within the State of California.Apr 5, 2022

RE: Mixing battery types??

OK, since I am asking stupid questions instead of searching and sorting through a bunch of ****. If I go to Lifepo4 bateries, do I need to change my charging system?
I am going through the change to Lifepo4 now. It is not just a simple exchange, plan on spending more money. I had four 6 volt flooded lead acid batteries, 470 AH. I bought one 206 AH Lifepo4 thinking that it would have plenty of power but it would not power my microwave, so I had to buy a second 206 AH Lifepo4. The issue is with the BMS. I have 860 watts of solar on the roof and my MPPT charge controllers will work with the new batteries but my PD converter will not.
