RE: cleaning 7-pin receiver connector on truck

When I get that message I just disconnect and connect the trailer plug a few times and the message goes away.

RE: 2010 Mobile Suites shock absorbers : See updated post

I have the Nev-R-Lube bearings on my 2004 Carriage with around 100,000 miles. I have no problems with mine. I called Dexter and talked to a tech and was told that to check them jack the tire off the ground and check for excess play in the bearing by grabbing the top of the tire and move it in and out. If you do remove the brake drum you will need to torque the bearing to 140 ft lbs.

RE: Absorption fridge 2 way vs 3 way

We boondock four months a year and our fridge is always on propane. We have a 2 way fridge.

RE: New Chevy / GMC 3500HD options

The standard tailgate is powered and you can push a button inside the cab to raise or lower it. You mean standard on High Country or other high trim levels, correct? I'm not sure on all because I was only interested in the High Country.

RE: New Chevy / GMC 3500HD options

Does the 3500 sit higher than the 2500? I think that the 2500 and 3500 sit about the same but you should look at the specs to be sure. We are about ready to order one as well and don't know what to expect. Look at Chevy.com Do they just charge you full MSRP? Yes, I paid MSRP but some dealers may add a fee on top of that. I was going to ask for a discount but the process went so fast and then it was to late. Is there an option to get rid of the amber lights on top of the cab for the Denali or High Country? On a DRW no but on a SRW you would need to order them.

RE: New Chevy / GMC 3500HD options

Thanks Dadoffourgirls for the input. I ordered the standard tailgate. I still have time to change the order so I may add the heavy duty front springs.

New Chevy / GMC 3500HD options

I just ordered a 2022 Chevy 3500HD SRW and have a few questions about options. If you own a 2020 or 2021 3500HD do you have the standard power up down tailgate or the 6 way manual lift tailgate? Why did you pick what you did? There is an option for a Heavy Duty Front Spring / Camper Package. Did you check this box? I will be pulling a 5th wheel.

RE: National Forest boondocking sites compatible with big rigs

I some times use Campendium but most of the time I use Google Earth to find a clearing that I can set up camp in. If you find a list on the internet with GPS cords you can bet that when you get there that spot will be occupied. Always have a Plan B and a Plan C.

RE: Hot Water Re-Circulation Pump

Thanks for the great write up. I have been thinking about doing this also but my plan is to "T" into the hot shower faucet then throw a solenoid value and pipe it to the fresh water tank. This way I can open the solenoid value for 30 seconds and the RV water pump will move the water.

RE: RV state sticker map opinions

I have been on a lot of road trips and flights and slept in a lot of states that I did not take my RV too. Maybe I need a second map.

RE: Arctic Fox Roof

That is what I did on my 5th wheel. No problems and they have been installed for 8 years now.

RE: Putting new decals over old.

I agree with Gdetrailer on this. Do it right the first time or you will be doing it again.

RE: GM 'o7classic LBZ dsl 6 spd to '21 L5P dsl 10 spd report

After reading your post and stopping by my local Chevy dealer I'm thinking about ordering a new 2022 Chevy 3500 SRW with the Duramax. So I assume that you had to get a new B&W companion hitch? Is the height of the new truck and the old truck similar?

RE: Toilet burping

It could be the vent as others have said but my bet is that the black tank is still full. Go ahead and add more water but keep a close eye on the toilet so that it does not overflow.

RE: Reseal questions on or near roof

None of your photos showed up. Dicor will work great on all except the Thule racks. I would need to see a photo to help you on that.

RE: Tire Pressure Q

Set the tire pressure cold. Yes they will go up as they warm up but that is OK.

RE: BAttery replacement.

When I bought my 5th wheel it had two 6 volt golf cart batteries that were dead. I replaced them with the same type of batteries. After seven years I decided that I should have more battery power so I bought four 6 volt golf cart batteries, that was five years ago and I expect to get another three - five years out of them.

RE: Wastewater Tote & Fresh Water Containers - Do you use them?

I use to carry two 6 gallon Aqua containers but now I use a 40 gallon fresh water tank in the truck and pump the water to the trailer. For gray water I use three 5 gallon orange buckets with lids. My black tank is 45 gallons and will last a couple weeks then we take the trailer to the dump station.
