RE: Looking for Boondocker friend/group OR. WA. area

Well to start with have you tried boondocking in your driveway? Did you know that you can overnight at the McMinnville air museum? This would be dry camping without hook ups. We have been there a few times. You can also stop at casinos for a night or two. In Washington we camp on state land (DNR). These are all free.

RE: Has anyone done this in the US?

I wonder what the overall length is. I know here in Washington State we have a limit of 65 feet. Other states are different.

RE: '22 3500HD Denali question

It looks like we have very similar trucks. I tow at 65 MPH but I'm not sure that's the sweet spot, I get around 10 MPG while towing.

RE: Traded in our old fifth wheel, bought a cougar

So, you traded in a 19-year-old 5th wheel and got a 13-year-old 5th wheel? How much did the dealer make on this trade? I hope that your wife is happy now.

RE: Hairline Cracks in Graphics

The reason that the dark colors are cracking is because they absorb heat. The only way to stop this is to keep it out of the sun.
You can remove and replace or just remove the vinyl but if it already has cracks it's done.

RE: Water pump short cycling, how to fix

Check out "attenuators" they use a compressed air pocket to smooth out the pressure. It can also provide a short time of pressure for those late night trips.
You splice it in line after the pump.

RE: External Water Fresh water Tank

I use a 40-gallon water tank mounted in the back of my truck and transfer water with a Harbor Freight 12-volt water transfer pump.
In your case I think that I would get a couple 55-gallon barrows.

RE: Champion 2500-Watt Dual Fuel Inverter Generator

I bought a Champion generator from Costco and it leaked fuel all over the floor. I could not stop it from leaking, so I returned it and bought a used Honda 2000i for less than the cost of this one. You buy cheap you get cheap.

I use the Wyze V2 cameras. They work great and are good for the budget.

RE: Lithium Battery Upgrade

Yes, but you are going to need more than one 100 ah battery. You will also need a shunt-based battery monitor.

RE: Black Tank Treatments - Yay or Nay?

Calgon liquid and Dawn detergent for us. If the tank smells just add more water.
After dumping the tank, I add a few gallons of water and we are good for another 18 days until we dump again.

Lowering the B&W is easy so that would be the first step. Next would be to raise the kingpin.

RE: House batterys

When I was using four 6-volt golf cart batteries I would check them every 4 months and add distilled water as needed. One gallon of water would last me two years. You not only need new batteries, but you need a new converter that won't cook your batteries to death.

I solved that problem by buying a new Chevy truck that has an option for trailer TPMS. A low tire for the truck or trailer will show up on my info screen.

RE: B&W Companion hitch removal

I don't think that my B&W Companion hitch weighs 230 pounds. I remove the head unit and then remove the base. I can do this in about 5 minutes by myself and I'm 70 years old.
