RE: UP with hookups

We travel Northern Minnesota, UP, and Door County most every summer. Have to get out of the great humidity in SW MO. We like our FHU sites, so most state, county, city parks are out. In looking at different places to its important to us to have reservations. I really like to know I have a place to put my head. Where you are wanting to go is very popular and sites get full very quickly. In Door County WI we like Hy-Land Court https://www.hylandcourt.com/ They are in a good location to enjoy most of Door County In the UP there are many things to see and do after doing the mackinac island stuff we found a great little park in Curtis called Log Cabin Resort https://www.uplogcabin.com/ Curtis being almost in the middle of the UP made seeing things very easy. I hope this helps somewhat

RE: How to Best Run New Coax on Roof ??

On topic I ran coax from the back of MH to front for same reason. I found that using dicor by its self did not work. For me the coax would not stay flat long enough for the dicor to harden. I ended up getting coax cable clips to hold it down while the dicor dried. I can not remember if the nails that came with the clips were long enough or not. I was not a fan of putting more holes in the roof, however by using way to much dicor I felt safe. Good Luck

RE: Has Anyone Pulled New Coax in Roof?

Do not know if this link will help, but it shows a connection between the main coax and the antenna coax. https://www.winnebago.com/Files/Files/Winnebago/Resources/Diagram/2007/07_wire_110138.pdf Good Luck

RE: Online Tire Ordering

I had a tire decision to make this past summer also. My rear tires were starting to show very large side wall cracks. We decided instead of trying to get home to Missouri from Northern Minnesota we would replace tires here. I had Michelin, but knew I wanted to go with TOYO tires. No one in northern Minnesota had anything near what I needed. So go on line! I found the same online dealer "Simiple Tire" and had 4 Toyos delivered to the shop for installation in 3 days. Customer service was excellent.

RE: Rock Collectors

So never knew there were more DW out there that brought home bags of rocks. We were gone all summer and returned with 4 plastic bags full of rocks from all over. Large ones small ones, the tumbling idea did get into her mind but i think (i hope) its pasted. Good Hunting

RE: Norcold on Inverter

Why not run your generator? This way you will have the frig on plus you can run the ac to keep coach cool.

RE: Drivers Seat Armrest

When you removed the arm rest was there a "pin" maybe about an inch long in the mechanism? I had the same thing happen, found out the pin came out. I was able to find the pin and hammer it back into the arm rest mechanism.

RE: Best ride for the buck

We went from a 1ton dully pulling a 35' 5th wheel, to a 30ft Thor ACE. The ride was better in the ACE, the noise for us was bearable. We found that for weekends the ACE was ok but for long trips it just would not work. We went to a 07 Itasca Meridian 37' with cummings engine. What a great choice for us. We have had it going on 4 years and almost 40,000 miles. The ride is better than the ACE however DW says that with the airbages its makes walking around while moving a little harder than in the ACE. I am not mechanically inclined so I have the unit serviced once a year. That way I know things are being looked after by folks who know. Good Luck

RE: Storage of Fresh Water - How Long

As for the fresh water tank, my rule of thumb is if its going to sit for more than a couple weeeks I will drain it. I carry less than 1/3 so not much is sent to the ground. As for the water heater, I drain mine at the end of the season. Clean it out using a water heater nozzle on the hose. I have never understood the folks who drain after every trip. My question is do they drain their water heater at home when they leave?

RE: Gas Class A

A couple years back my DW finally had enough of the "chucking", rough ride that our 1ton dually pulling a 35'5th wheel could give. We went looking for a MH, a gas one was within budget. We found a nice 29' one that we thought fit the bill. The ride was ok, the seats were not the best but very do able. The engine noise was a little over bearing at times. Nothing that we could not get used to. On the down side that we never even thought about was storage! Being used to the large 5er the gasser had no storage neither inside or out. For weekend use it was great but for long trips not so much. After the first year we realized we made a size mistake. So off we go looking for larger MH's. Thats when we found an older 37'DP in excellent shape. The ride so much better, its easier for DW to get up and move around when rig is in motion. Everything that "tracking" had to say was correct. I will add think hard about how you want to use the MH. Do not get two short of a unit, as the change from toy hauler to mh is a big one. Good Luck you have a big decission to make

RE: branson trip

I am sure you mean HWY 65 not 75. I have not taken HWY 412 but have driven HWY 62 many times. Either way you will end up on the southern part of 65. That part does not have the 3 hills you are talking about. If you have never stopped in Eureka Springs this would be a good time. Its worth a day or two. Good Luck love the ozark mountain driving

RE: toilet

I have found that the grove that seats the piece that opens and closes will get filled with TP. I have taken a cloths hanger wire and cleaned out the grove. Along with lubing the seal check out the grove. Good Luck

RE: Where is the ice maker water shut off valve?

I will say that I have no where near your rig. With that said the shut off to my ice maker is under the kitchen sink. Its a small inline value that you turn to shut water off. I would start your search there.

RE: Considering first DP - any advice?

I have an 07 Itasca Meridian 37' with the 300hp cummings. I have a KIA on tow dolly. Yes you are not going to go up mountain passes at 65 but last year we traveled colorado and had no problem maintaining 45 or 50, yes we did drop down to 4th or 3 gear put not being in a hurry made no difference. The air brakes are sorta different. For me its alittle more planning ahead to stop, they are just not the same feeling as car brakes. I agree with the post about the storage bins attached to the slide. Its great to not have to bend and crawl to gain access to the bins. My Meridians bins are attached to the slide and its just so much easier. Would not be a deal breaker though. I enjoy the diesel much more than any coach or rig I have had. They are just a pleasure to drive. Good Luck safe travels

RE: Changing out Booth Dinette with table and chairs

We took the booth out of our MH 2 years ago. First we look at finding a table a chair combo that would work. That did not go well, we ended up keeping the table. Just by luck we were at a used furniture store and found two chairs that not only looked good but the wood color fit the MH just fine. Yes it would have been nice to find a table chair combo the size seems to be a big factor.

RE: My Fridge Died

Two years ago my Norcold frg of 13 years decided it had served the RV well but needed a rest. I was not in favor of replacing with a home style frig as my carpentry ability was not good enough to make the finial result look like it belonged there. Replacing with a new Norcold would require removal of the windshield and that was a NO go. I looked into replacing the cooling unit and found the JC Refrigeration had just what I wanted. Their customer service is way above average. The instalation went very well. My wife and I were able to do the job over a couple days. We could have done in in hours but we were in no hurry. I made a dolly the same height as the bottom of the frig., sled the frig onto the dolly and was able to do all work in the camper. I would ckeck out JC Refrigeration before making a decission. https://jc-refrigeration.com/

RE: Do I need to condition my slide seals against drying out?

Do you need to not sure, should you most likely. I know there are a bunch of products out there. Just look at its and another one of those yearly maintance things.
