RE: TransCanada Hwy, West to East

Can only help from the Thunder Bay area to Sault Ste Maria. We stayed at Fort Williams Provencal Park for 3 nights. Between the history and things to see and do at the fort and surrounding area things 3 days was just right. From there we went to Wawa and stayed at Wawa Rv Resort https://wawarvresort.com/ its a good sam park so a little of a discount. I will mention that between Wawa and Sault Ste Maria there are NO gas stations so make sure you fill up. Out of all honesty I really was not impressed with the drive on the North side of lake superior. I guess I was hoping the road would somewhat follow the lake, for views but thats not so. Have a good trip

RE: 2012 Sightseer slides, do they all need to be opened?

I have no first hand knowledge of your rig so this just my thoughts on the subject. I would say you would not have to have all the slides out. It just does not make any sense to have to put all out. Looking at your floor plan I would guess you are thinking about the bedroom slide more than the other two. With that said the living room slides might be a different thing. As for balance I could see what past owner was talking about, it would make sense to put both out. However for an overnight I would put out what is needed for the night. Good luck

RE: Are you heading for Utah's National Parks?

We were at the Utah parks this past mid May and found them filling up then. We entered the line to get into Zion at 830am and was the last car. All the others we had no problem, just lucky I guess. As I saw it, parking was the problem. All of the parking places for the major sights were just not big enough to handle the crowd. The small pull over sights were always empty so no problem. I do not see the problem going away until someone comes up with a good fix. If they went to shuttles the welcome center parking lots are not large enough. Hope fully time will tell and folks again will be able to enjoy our great national parks.

RE: Disconnect switch not reconnecting

I had a simular problem this year. It ended up being the solenoid valve was causing the problem. Find the solenoid valve and make sure you are getting power both to it and through it. If you have power to the valve but not through then the valve is not opening thus its bad and need to be replaced.

RE: Norcold refrigerator trouble

From what is posted it looks like your frig is dead. If so at this point you have some decisions to make. Replace with new Norcold, replace with residential frig., or just replace the cooling unit. My thoughts as I went through the same process. We ended up going with replacing the cooling unit. Reason, easier cheaper DW and I could do it. I went to JC Refrigeration and with their help got the correct cooling unit. I went with the 120v only as we are always plugged in and never boondock. That made more sense to us. It really is a take out the old and put in the new. Check them out as part of your decision process. https://jc-refrigeration.com/ Good Luck safe travels

RE: Zion to Bryce

We just finished our trip out that way. We really enjoyed Hwy 14 if you like scenic drives. You did not say what you would be driving! If RV 14 maybe not so much, its very do able but you would not beable to take in as much of the sights. Hwy 20 on the other hand is just a great Hwy!

RE: Zion east - North Rim or Page ?

We stayed at Page a few weeks ago then headed to Hurricane for a few days. While at Page we went to the North Rim via 89, 89a, and 67 now we drove the car but there were no large grades that I can remember. I really did not think the North Rim was worth the 2.5 hr drive from Page. Maybe the weather (cold and very windy) maybe the main sightseeing road in the park was closed due to down trees. Lake Powell and the **** was a good drive. Hiking to "horseshoe bend" was ok and worth it. For eats in Page Big Johns Texas BBQ Good Luck

RE: Where to sell RV items we've upgraded from

When we took out our dinette benches, we listed them on Facebook Market place and sold in two days. Really did not care who purchased just glad to get them out of the garage.

RE: Coach step inc issues

Not doubting you but how can you see the teeth? I just had somewhat the same problem with my kwickee step. There are four bolts that hold the whole motor assembly to a metal plate, that is attached to the underside of the coach. On my step the four bolts had sheared off, and the motor was not being held on to the metal plate. You may have somewhat the same problem. Maybe not all four but enough to cause the action of the motor and its arm to not fully retract the step. The bolts were brass and I replaced them with metric #6 stainless steel bolts. Once completed the steps work as good as new.

Filling of Propane tank

Does it make a difference if you get your propane filled at 8900 ft or 1000 ft. Reason I ask is right now I am at 8900 ft and could top off the onboard tank. Or am I better off to wait until I get to a lesser elevation? Is it a quantity thing.

RE: midwest resorts

Their like everything else, if you use them it may be money well spent. If you do not use then its money wasted. We belong to coast to coast and would love to use their parks. However our travels seem to never be where a park is.

RE: Need a new TV antenna

On a different coach I replaced the wingman batwing with a King Jack. King has a unit that is designed to go on the wingman setup. The Jack work well it was however a little more sensitive to direction than the wingman. On the other hand it pulled in a few more channels. I also replaced on a different coach the King Jack with a Omni directional ant. The Mjg. had put the King to close to the ac cover so it blocked signal. The coach I have now haa the wingman and if I had to replace it would be with the King Jack.

RE: Highway 50 closure by Gunnison

I was just into the office of the only KOA in Canon City and asked about what you were referring to. They do not charge extra for arriving late, in fact I was told they do not charge for arriving early either. There is no problem coming in after dark either. I nor the KOA folks have no idea where you got the info. The folks at this KOA are the nicest folks you could find. I normally do not respond to these kind of post but seeing how I was at the KOA I thought I would find out. I would look at the link for when you will be able to pass through on your way to Canon City and plan accordingly. Feel free to give the KOA a call to double check my info 719-275-6116

RE: Highway 50 closure by Gunnison

We are in Canon City now and monday are heading to Cortez via 50 to poncha springs taking 285 down to 160 to cortez. If you could take maybe you could drop down that way. This link gives a schedule on how they are allowing travel might help https://www.codot.gov/news/2021/april-2021/us50-little-blue-creek-detours We found canon city to be agreat place. The Royal Bridge experience is, to me, a little over priced. But the train is will worth it. Good Luck safe travels

RE: Estes park

A few years back we stayed at the KOA, it was a normal KOA. It was located on the east side of Estes. There are a couple of parks closer to the NP but I do not remember their names. Maybe someone else can help with that. I would stay at the KOA again.

RE: thor axis 25.6

Although I do not own either a axis or vagus, I did own a ACE 29.6.The v10 did a great job of pulling the unit along with my car on a dolly so no complaint with power area. Workman ship left alittle to be happy about. Nothing major just alot of little things, mostly the attaching of the wood panels. Our ACE had only a 26gal black tank plus the bathroom sink drained into it. This caused a very short time with out dumping of some type. They placed the King ant. right next to the AC cover thus if the tv towers were in the wrong direction the ac cover would block reception. I ended up installing a different ant. at a different location. Our ACE had only one AC unit that was not enough, even for the midwest. Storage was very bad not enough room for long trip, 3 weeks or so, cloths that type of thing. All in all would I buy another, if I could check ALL the boxes, maybe.
