RE: EZ pass

Yes you can buy a EZpass from other states but why wouldn't you buy it in your home state unless it's cheaper from another?

RE: Chaser and Chasee

We prefer to tow for a lot of reasons but sometimes if we are moving a short distance, we will not bother to hook up.

RE: MPG for Various Class A Motorhomes

If cost is your objective, finding cheaper diesel is a easier option. I typically save $0.30 to $0.40 /gal over truck stops. Current example, in Boise, ID, Maverick is $3.05 and Flying J is $3.35 (per GasBuddy). That's a 9% reduction.

RE: MPG for Various Class A Motorhomes

About the only thing, I'm convinced of here, is that it doesn't cost all that much to tow and figuring maybe just 1/2 - 1 mpg. extra in a four down setup. I agree with this.

RE: MPG for Various Class A Motorhomes

Not class A but a Super C pulling a trailer 7 mpg. My Super C pulling a full size SUV gets 9mpg. I drive with a light foot and seldom exceed 62mph.

RE: Stolen Minivan Recovered

I don't know how it works or how it got setup but every time I shut my wrangler off I get a parked car alert on my phone showing location. Hubby has this too and he doesn't know how it got there either! That's kind of scary.

RE: Legal or safety issues carrying diesel fuel containers in RV

I see no legal or safety issues with your plan. Unless you are very very careful and have extremely well sealed cans you will likely make the entire inside of the compartment smell like fuel. You may even get the smell inside the MH. I would not like that at all. Right about that. If it spills in the compartment, it will take a long time to dissipate and I hate the smell. I had a trumpar camper and pulled a little box trailer to Alaska. I installed a steel box on the tongue of the trailer and carried 2 5 gals cans of diesel. The only time I needed it was on the Robert Campbell Hy and I was awful glad I had it. Short bed truck only had a 20 gal tank. I loved that rig.

RE: ? Quartzsite Auto Parking and/or RV Park Recommendations

We were able to park about 100' from the main tent entrance. There were a lot of scooters inside the tent. Agree, camping in the desert is special.

RE: Need the lowdown on Super C's

Ron, My wife drives our Ghost, towing a SUV, with no problems. She didn't drive a Class A but felt funny sitting in the driver's seat. Besides the Ghost's GVW is 26,000# which does not require a Class B drivers license in our state. She only drives rest area to rest area and always under my pretty close supervision. Zeke also monitors both of our driving. https://i.imgur.com/Y4TUL6yl.jpg Chris

RE: When leaving for the day...

I usually stay at NFS campgrounds. I've got my reservation printed and the tag on the site post. If someone takes my spot, i'll politely ask them to move. If they don't, I contact the ranger station. I take a picture so I can prove it.

RE: Bob Quinn Lake, BC

Thanks, Johnny, This actually seemed like a fairly regularly used spot. Even had fire ring and makeshift table. Looking forward to traveling through BC again. Chris

Bob Quinn Lake, BC

Back in 2005, I stayed overnight at a great boondocking place right on Bob Quinn Lake behind some sort of contruction yard. I'm going to make this trip again in August and was looking a BC roads. It said that you can't overnight in gravel pits and other pull out areas. Does anyone know if this place is still available as a boondocking site? Thanks

RE: Do you ever ship belongings to destination or back home?

We did a similar trip with our family of 7 in April, 2017. My wife and I flew to Las Vegas a day early. One of our checked bags was a big cooler with we packed full of stuff. Put a chain through the handles with a TSA lock on it. Picked up the rental and spend the day outfitting. Each person brought a small sleeping bag on the plane and we bought towels, pillows, chairs and some other odds and ends. At the end of the trip we donated everything we couldn't fly back with to the Salvation Army. That was our test trip - we ordered our new Class C later than summer.

RE: GPS with marine-lake-river interface

I have an old Garmin 478. This one has salt water marine maps but I know there was one which had fresh water maps (might be the 376). It works great in my RV, along side my 770. Easier to use for certain purposes than the 770. Great backcountry maps (had a dirt road in Arches NP on it, 770 did not). We were in the toad for that. Check Amazon and Ebay for used models.

RE: Campground near White Sands national monument

We also stayed at Boot Hill. Very nice people running the place. They lent us a couple saucers to use for sledding at White Sands... what a blast ! Another positive experience at Boot Hill. March of 2018. Mexican restaurant nearby was good but too much food. Check out the New Mexicao Space Museum in Alamogordo. This was a great stop and had some displays even better than the Johnson Space Center in Houston. The International Space Hall of Fame is part of this museum and we enjoyed seeing all the participates, including Russians, who have been named to the Hall of Fame. Even a special section to Star Tek!

RE: Using Furnace While Driving

I have no idea of the complexities involved, but...my '99 E 350 Triple E Regal has ducting to provide an engine heater outlet in back..plus a separate fan motor. It might well be worth looking into. Gary Haupt You would think all manufacturers would run at least one duct back but most don't - at least mine didn't. Would be even better if you could open that vent and close the ones in the cab so you don't get run out of the cab.
