RE: Quadrants, rather than one big cross country trip?

it is just the 2 of us and we are retired. we keep our trips to a max of 1 month. too much to worry about at home even though we have people watching and taking care of things. lawn, etc in the summer and snow, furnace, etc in the winter.
i have found that the following travel ideas work well. we always stay 2 days after driving about 6 hours. gives the driver, me, a chance to recoup. the older you get the harder the driving, at least for me. we will have a 1 to 1.5 week destination and will throw in 4 days somewhere.

RE: Priming the water pump

after 18 years the old pump gave out. bought a new shurflo 4008 on amazon lat year but mine was only $46. amazon is pretty crafty. if the website determines that you have been looking at things previously, the price goes up. they must figure that we are getting desperate.

RE: Rooftop AC Unit Not Cooling Well

what are you plugged into? is your compressor kicking in. you need about 15-18 amps to start the compressor decently. running it on low amps kills compressors.
plug into 30 amps.

RE: Fresh Water Tank Location

the two low point hoses drain the water in the plumbing. the fresh water tank won't be too far from you fresh water fill. the drain for the fresh water tank could be anywhere.
my tank is between the axles and the drain is in the front under the tongue which is about 12 feet from the tank.

RE: Are some kinds of TVs better for RV life

i keep the tv on the bed while traveling. a couple strategically placed pillows and blanket keeps it from moving around.

RE: Directv ??? what are they doing???

you need to upgrade your antenna and receiver. when we got upgraded with directv about 5 years ago, they said that only a few people still had that set-up.
we have since moved to dish for half the price of direct.

RE: NEEDED 20/25 DOLLAR SAFE RV FULL HOOK UP IN TEXAS GULF COAST

good luck trying to find something. we made our reservations months ago.
i'm pretty sure state park electric/water sites ($20-25) would probably be gone by now but check anyway as people cancel regularly.
some private probably have openings and they would have full hook-ups but cost more.
last january the temps were usually 50-60s during the day, some 70s and one 80.
at night 40-50s. we ran our electric heater almost non-stop. one night actually got into the upper 30s with rain/sleet and the people were panicking big time. closing schools and businesses, etc. for us from wisconsin it was a warm winter day.
