RE: Good RV Mattress for heavier people

We have put a Signature Design by Ashley Chime from Amazon. It is very comfortable and currently under $300 for the 10in Queen.

RE: Nat gen/Allstate service. Or not

Depending on the cost to repair and your want to pursue, I would ask for the reports to prove what they say. If they are blowing smoke that may change the tune.
I also had Allstate many years ago. Cancelled them when they denied a claim that was witnessed.

RE: Fence for Dog

One other quick note, some campgrounds limit the height of your doggie pen to 24" ....just for info.
Also, some campgrounds do not allow them at all. I watched a poor soul meticulously set out a very nice "play yard" for his 4 legged companions; only to be told by the campground staff to remove it as it was not allowed. After some less than civil conversation, they were told to leave.
Make sure to check first.

RE: Comenity Good Sam Visa

Statement on Comenity (Good Sam) page:
We know the recent system outage has been frustrating and we will work to ensure a fair resolution for impacted customers. We’re waiving late fees for customers whose payment due date fell on June 27 or 28, 2022. Those customers’ inability to make a payment will not affect their credit score. You can now check your balance and make a payment online using EasyPay, or by calling the number on the back of your card or on your statement. Until we restore full service, we will not charge a pay-by-phone fee when you make a payment with one of our representatives.
I was able to log in at this time

RE: Cell Phone - Sending Test Message

If your using ATT they are "aware"of the problem but do not have a fix. We have used a work around by turning off wifi when sending then turn back on.
Aware of what problem? We have 50 - 60 phones in our company on AT&T, and do not have any stinking problems.
Good for you.
The problem is all over their support pages. Mainly Samsung phones and Pixels. We had the problem in our S9 but not in the S20

RE: Fuel savings at Pilot/Flying J

If you want to save money stay away from Pilot/Flying J, and the other large truck stops. Thier prices are 30 to 50 cents a gallon hiher than the station across the street or next off ramp. I use Gasbuddy to fine better prices along my route. Then Goggle map to see how hard or easy to get to the pump.
I disagree, but I avoided the crazy prices in California and filled up in Oregon passed through California and filled up again In Reno Nevada
I use them all the time and have not noticed the difference in price
X2
Have never had that much of a price difference in any that I have used. With the % discount on their card, it is usually cheaper.

We stay hooked up when just overnighting unless we plan on going somewhere that night; like visiting a relative or going to a special attraction/food.

RE: RV retail sales drop 31% April year over year.

I have started following a local consignment dealer to gauge the market. PPL Motorhomes has three times as many units for sale than in previous months and they are having more "specials" with reduced prices. This seems to indicate the used market is being inundated and the pricing is falling. It will be interesting when the travel season is over to see where it continues to go.

RE: Flying J / RV Lanes

You are aware that Flying j fuel prices are higher than other stations!
I just completed a trip through 3 states. The Pilot/Flying Js I stopped at or passed were the same and a few were cheaper as any other in the same area.

RE: Buying New, Is there a Consumer Report Guide for RVs?

One section of the RV Travel Newsletter has reviews each week on RVs. You can look up old issues and see many report.
RV Travel
Be very careful when buying at any dealer as many are about the same as a used car salesman, especially Camping World. Read everything closely.

RE: How to increase laptop WIFI speed

I had an HP Laptop that used that wireless adapter. It had many issues over its life and one was slow speeds. I replaced it with an external adapter and all was right with the world.
Am using an HP laptop Though it Wi-Fi's at 5 Gig.. The speedometer wrapped the needle round the pin when I plugged in a CAT 5 adapter and hard wired it.
When mine is hard lined it performs great. When it was using the original WiFi adapter there were many issues. Adding an external USB solved these and gave me the 5ghz ability. The original adapter was only 2.4.
By using hardwired Ethernet or a USB external WiFi card you are bypassing the internal Broadcom WiFi adapter which from the complaints I found when looking up the model number the OP gave appears to be either a flakey adapter or possibly flakey drivers.
Has nothing to do with not being able to use 5ghz..
This seems to be a common and mainly a HP laptop issue with their WiFi radio cards.
I didn't find any other laptop manufacturers with this same common complaint (they most likely are using other WiFi radio card manufacturers, Dell is using Qualcomm WiFi cards).
Surprised the OP hasn't had this issue before although it is possible that their Frontier modem/router/AP 2.4ghz WiFi radio is going bad.
Rather than beating ones self to death trying to figure out why the HP WiFi isn't up to par anymore on old PC equipment, bypassing with pretty much any external USB WiFi radio will most likely fix the problem permanently.
On edit,
Since the speed problem is mainly the laptop, the OP could take the laptop to any place like McDs or a coffee shop that offers free WiFi to see if the laptop connects at speeds greater than 7 Mbps.
If they get a connection greater than 7 Mbps then it may be an issue with their ISPs modem/router/AP which may need replaced in this case.
If they continue to get speeds of 7 Mbps at other locations that offer free WiFi. Then the issue must be the internal Broadcom WiFi radio card. The fix would be bypass with an external USB WiFi radio and not bother trying to figure out why the internal one isn't working correctly..
In my case it doesn't bypass it because I removed it completely from the unit (has a nice little removable cover). The new external one is all the way to WiFi6 compatible.
