RE: Rear picture window model suggestions

We have the twin to the 2604, a Flagstaff 26RLWS. Great RV. While there are some cons to the floorplan, it's the best we've found for 2 plus a large labradoodle.

RE: Chevy 1500HD vs. 2500

1500HD is the same as the 2500 non-HD. Great trucks.

RE: I asked for trouble and I got it.

I found it easier to raise the drivers side of the bed to change the fuel pump. Not difficult at all.

RE: I asked for trouble and I got it.

Actually, the job isn't as bad as you might think. I replaced fuel and brake lines on ours and I had no experience doing that kind of thing. Take your time and study up beforehand. Brake lines were harder than fuel lines. Fuel pump isnt hard. Ours was an 02.

It's hard to explain. I can tell a difference but it's not huge. The camper sits a little more nose down. No sway or any negative handling issues. Maybe I'll adjust the hitch a bit and see how it goes.

We currently have a Fastway E2 hitch. We typically travel with a small amount of water in the fresh water tank but when we are boondocking, we fill the tank full. The tank is forward of the axles so tongue weight is greatly increased with a full tank of water. What hitch would allow us to have more weight distribution when the tank is full and less when it's almost empty? We're pulling a 30' travel trailer with a 2500HD. Thanks!

RE: Rear-Living TTs: Likes, dislikes, features, models...

We have a Flagstaff 26RLWS. The floorplan works out great for us. Like having 2 chairs, a sofa and a dinete table with 4 chairs. The wardrobe slide is what did it for us. Small but holds a lot of stuff. Drawbacks? I wish there was a bit more room between the recliners and the counter but it works. 2 doors is very nice and everything is accessible during travel. All in all, it's a great floorplan.

RE: winnebago micro lite vs FR flagstaff micro lite

We have a 2016 Flagstaff 26RLWS. Been very pleased with it and have had no significant problems at all. I haven't seen the specific model you are looking at but one thing we found with ours is the little touches in the design. My wife says it must have been designed by a woman because they thought of a lot of little things that add up to a very nice RV. The quality of ours is exceptional. No complaints at all.

2018 Flagstaff 27VRL

We are looking at the travel trailer in the subject. Does anyone have any experience with that model or the V-Lite line in general? Thanks!

RE: Replacing Shocks - How much time.

Using a floor jack and air tools, less than 2 hours to do all four replacing with Rancho 9000s on a 2015 2500HD. Easy job. Definitely take off the fronts.

RE: Chevy 6.0 mileage

Our last trip this year was from Southern Illinois to Branson. Averaged 9 towing and 16 running around. 2015 6.0, 4.10 and tow a 30' travel trailer weighing around 7400lbs. Pulling the steepest hills around Branson, we saw 2mpg :)

RE: rand Mcnally gps rvnd 7

We have been happy with ours. We had a couple of trips where the GS Trip Planner tried to take us down a goat trail but when we did the trip on the BPS itself it worked well so the issue was Trip Planner, not the GPS. Battery life is just ok. Not horrible, not great, just ok. Shows well in bright sunlight and great for navigating cities. Overall, very happy with it.

RE: For those on the 1/2 ton vs 3/4 ton bubble...

I guess I was trying to provide some information for those considering the same change we made: do we stay with a half ton, and a "heavy" half ton at that, or do we switch to a 3/4 ton? My experience was, it is much more relaxing and enjoyable towing with a 3/4 ton at around 55% capacity than it is towing with a 1/2 ton at 90-95% capacity. Wretched excess? Maybe. All I know is, when we got to the campground at the end of a long day driving, I was much more relaxed. My .02 Yes it is easier towing 6k with a 3/4 ton, and easier still with a 1 ton, and easier still with a MTD. It is just not really needed. Argumentum ad absurdum...
