RE: Why won’t my Champion C46540 generator run the microwave?

I must be blind in that eye! Thanks. Wonder why I didn;\'t see it farther in manual, must be blind in that eye! You would think that it would show on page 6.

Interesting it is shown in parts but not shown in the control panel. It is also not the the operational control panel information. 2112: where did you find photo you posted?

RE: Why won’t my Champion C46540 generator run the microwave?

I do not see a switch on this genset to change voltage ouputs. Only switches are the circuit breaker push buttons. Genset manual

RE: Elko, NV to Victor, ID

US 93 to I-85. Catch I-15 south to McCammon US 26 to ID 31. ID 31 is secondary state highway. Not sure of it's condition. Reason for Victor ID?

RE: Why won’t my Champion C46540 generator run the microwave?

When powering an off-grid system there is many things to consider. Need to get calculations on what is going to be connected. That would give basics for size of genset. Some cabins are powered with only a 120 volt source and others install a 120/240 volt source. We don't know what he is doing!

RE: Why won’t my Champion C46540 generator run the microwave?

The OP needs to tell us what he is trying to do. He is talking a building in posts. This is different and potentially dangerous!

RE: Why won’t my Champion C46540 generator run the microwave?

What are you powering or trying to? Your language indecates that you are trying to power a building. If it is for a building and don't need an inverter style, a 10,000 plus watt construction style genset. Hopefully you are not trying to back feed a utility powered sytem!

RE: Why won’t my Champion C46540 generator run the microwave?

I better clarify that the twist lock is 120/240 four wire. 14.6 amps total, indicating it would be somewhere around 7 amps per 120 leg.

RE: Why won’t my Champion C46540 generator run the microwave?

OP: What you posted for connection is not correct. The four pin twist lock is a 120/240 genset output. The 30TT three wire receptacle is 120 volt. The twist lock only has a 240 volt output rated at 14.6 amps. See page 6 of owner's manual You should be using the 30TT recptacle to get full load from genset. What is shore power connection in your rig?

RE: Differential Service

Thanks for the update! Leak at hub explains fluid loss.

RE: US 12 Lolo MT to Kooskia Id

US 12 curves northwest at Walla Walla, WA and is part of I 82 to just north of Yakima. Conitues over White Pas and onto Grays Harbor WA. It does not go into OR.

RE: Wifi options

I call my Jetpack an air card. It is the same. Box says Novatel aircard wireles. Smaller print says MIFI 7730L Jetpack. Mine is older model that handles 4G. I would check for newer models

RE: Wifi options

We have Verizon for our needs. You can use the phones we have as a mobile hot spot. We also have an air card which we connect to a small router for the ability to use both computers. It is not necessary any more since we upgraded phones.

RE: US 12 Lolo MT to Kooskia Id

There is a steep down hill run westbound from Lolo Pass. Use lower gears and watch using brakes too much causing over heating. Good highway, numerous pull offs.

RE: 1994 Holiday Rambler Endeavor 30CB

I have an older, 1993, MH. We have had it since new. Have over 200,000 miles. I have maintained it what I feel good. It is on a Chev P-30 chassis. Nothing wrong with older rigs if they have been maintained. I have had no prolems finding parts for the chassis.

RE: Malheur/Burns Oregon in May to see the birds

Going north to I-84 is sure a long way to go. I would suggest going straight east from Burns on US 20. Plymouth Park is a very nice park but gets very busy and fills quickly with wind surfers on the Columbia.

RE: Laptop Google issue??

OP: have you done all the Windows 10 updates including optional? Have you done system cleanup including system cleanup? Try disabling Avast and enableing Defender.

RE: 2022 Trip Planning- Advice for Newbies

Even though we have an on-board genset in MH, I have a pair of Honda 2000 watt gensets. We bought them (wife) when Onan had issues. They are quiet but trouble some. Harbor freight inverter 2000 watt genset meets most needs. We run our gensets while having breakfast. Normally is enough to get batteries up. Inverter genset Yes, dry camping is without any hhok ups. Works for us as we travel many back roads, non-interstate. Slower pace and much more to see. Saves money to be spent on special items along the road. Pump is 12 volts and works off rig's battery system.

RE: 2022 Trip Planning- Advice for Newbies

Carry at least 1/4 tank. Fill up if you plan on extended dry camping stay. We only make long advance reservations for special places. Making too many reservations tie you down to a schedule. Normally we find campgrounds a day or so ahead of visit. We use many US Government facilities like Corp of Engineers, National Parks and Forest Service.
