RE: restoring 1987 holaday Rambler

After a call back from the people at HWH, 563-724-3396, they said they made the jacks for that system back in the day. It is a 100 series kickdown system. it has different jacks. the front part for jack is AP7001, the back jack is AP7164. the Actuator is part AP0547 and seems to be the same on the front and rear. they said to make sure the roller bearing part number R12E should probably be replaced on each jack. the difference in jacks is where the Actuator mounts on the jack it seems. said the should both be 9000-pound jacks.

This is a picture of the passenger side front. It works and is extended. the piece held by the hose clamp has two wires going into it, one to a ground on the pump. seen in the upper left of the shot, the other runs back to the light assembly by the driver's door. I believe this is a mercury switch. to activate the indicator lights. https://i.imgur.com/ncgdncrl.jpg

The main ram moves free and is clean, the ram on the metering block doesn't move. The part hanging down is a mercury switch I believe. https://i.imgur.com/YAAi43fl.jpg

I have never used the leveling jacks. it seems the front work and the house to the return line is broke. Here is the rear jack. where does the wire go, and anybody know if they sell a kit to the controller mounted on the side of the jack. https://i.imgur.com/muSiPa5l.jpg

RE: restoring 1987 holaday Rambler

I started to take apart the landing, the part where you step as you come in the door, and first step. It was made with beaver fart I believe. This is what was there when I pulled the first piece of carpet up. https://i.imgur.com/kMdSPZol.jpg If you look you can see four rusty spots, those are the bolts that are holding what's left of the electric steps up. .

RE: 8R19.5 birgstone R187 metro radial tire

I still have the old 8R19.5 tires, I am going to switch to a G Rated 235 70R19.5 I believe. The Sailone brand seems to be the one I will go with on my new purchases.

RE: restoring 1987 holaday Rambler

Auto Zone, Discount Auto, and PEP Boys near me were no help, I went to the NAPA store is KISSIMMEE FL. the guy there told me it was a Dextor axile cap, he didn't have one in my size. he did send me to a trailer place where I found one.

I wanted to check the tag axile breaks, before I went to Colt Creek State park next month. I took the bearing cap off, https://i.imgur.com/HPvUApMl.jpg the cap was brittle and broke when I was removing it,here is a top and side view of the old cap TOP VIEW https://i.imgur.com/qPWGzhRl.jpg SIDE VIEW https://i.imgur.com/U0BgFDIl.jpg

8R19.5 birgstone R187 metro radial tire

I have a guy that can get me a couple of one year old dated tire in a 8R19.5 size for three hundred fifty a piece, is that a fair price? Are the tires any good?

RE: restoring 1987 holaday Rambler

Soo, it's not dead yet. I used it three times last year. Now it's time for tires. 8R19.5 is the size. it seems the one place near me has some Brigstone R187 tires that are not dated old for 340.00 each. From what i see that's a fair price. is the tire any good, I only drove it 500 miles last year, just to some local stuff around Orlando.
