That's where the lower stable loads will come into play.

RE: Anyone haul camper with Ram SRW 3500 2wd factory air bag ?

I am right at 14K ready to camp with our 2015 Ram 3500 DRW 4x2 Cummins powered with Laramie Longhorn trim level in a crew cab and hauling a Lance 1181 Love it, love it, love it!!

RE: Dually tire pressure?

Yeah, it rides a bit rough, after all , it's a truck not a cushy 4 wheeler. Get used to it.

RE: I bet glider pickups would sell!

I would sooner have an old school Big Horn class 8 (only about 250 were built) from the mid seventies re-powered by a new Cummins. Got to be the "Ultimate Hood"!!

RE: Stableloads installation problem

I drilled the holes for the lowers on my Ram with a floor jack and a right angle drill. Not an issue. Took maybe an hour. Your shop just don't want to mess with it You mean to tell me they want 724$ to INSTALL them???? Or is that the charge including the lifts??

RE: 2x10 between camper and front of bed or not?

I have a 2x6 across the front as well. Also 2 short pieces of 6x6, one secured to each end of it and cut to angle back to the sides of the bed to act as a self centering guide when the camper bumps up against them. Kind of like what's pictured above but laying down flat with the angle face fastened to the 2x6. I posted picture here several times before but can't seem to locate it now. Works great!

RE: Weight police?

I wonder how the HJ set-up would have worked in that application!!

RE: Where to buy new Diesel, Dave Smith in Idaho?

RE: Making my own tiedowns How to

What's to understand, the end of the bumper is not the frame. You want to drill a brand new $50,000 + truck full of holes, knock yourself out. I took the happy jack stuff off a '15 Ford the PO had the camper I bought mounted on mounted on and tossed it in the scrap pile. I know why Jack is so happy now!!

RE: Making my own tiedowns How to

Nice job!!Certainly better than a bolt in the end of the bumper and puny bolts through the tin front of the truck bed like you know who does it!!!

RE: Importance of Camper Package on new DRW truck

Heavy front suspension, IMHO, will be a waste as many T/C's, depending on the COG, take weight OFF the front axle instead of adding it. Mt 1181 Lance takes 400 # off the front axle when loaded.

RE: Jack shims

Simple Blocks of wood. 2x6 or 2x8 Or some 12" square peices of micro lam Find a building site where they are using some and ask 'em for some scraps. Or make your own from several layers 3/4" plywood

RE: TC on flatbed trailer?

Looks kind of goofy, but what the heck!! If it works for you.... Looks like the COG would be more to your liking mounted that way. But....if it is too far to the rear, you will have unsafe fishtailing issues.

RE: On the fence for a new TC hauler? ... new Ram looks awesome!

RE: On the fence for a new TC hauler? ... new Ram looks awesome!

Sure would make a great "Hot Shot" rig though!! If I had it to do over again, with all this good looking equipment available, I may just have chosen that route. But after over 30 years at it, I kind of doubt it now!! My 1st Pete 359, cost less than these new pick-up trucks!! Lots of them running around here pulling stock trailers. One thing I do not like about the new Laramie Longhorn interior though, or at least the one they feature towards the end of that you tube clip, is the light colored seat leather.

Laramie longhorn for me!! Bring it on!! What's my trade worth, 2015 L/L loaded w/42000 original one owner miles. I can dream, can't I!!!

RE: Reciever maintenance heads up

The finish on my Torklift lower stable loads was shot after less than a year on the truck. I removed te, sandblasted, primed and repainted tyem. Their so called powder coat sucks and peeled off in sheets. The super hitch paint is not far behind. The OEM frame paint on my 2015 Ram still looks better than the hitch after 4 years. I rarely ever drive the rig during the winter and then only if the weather is decent. I give T/l a fail when it comes to the prep and paint dept.

RE: Hauler using short bed to haul long bed TC?

May not work on a class 8 flat bed. may be too high. Better off on a step deck.
