RE: Ram Cummins/Aisin Failures

"Hot shotters are the canary in the cage for us RV'ers."
Wow, you'd think the hot shotters would be using something other than Ram/Cummins if they're falling apart all along the roadside, but I seem to see just as many as ever. Maybe it isn't as big a deal as the youtubers, desperate for clicks and views, would want us to believe. Just a thought.

RE: The Ford Explorer Men only Edition

I'll be away from the computer for an hour. I need to instruct the wife as to how to fix my supper.

Better hope she still not using cast iron skillets, those things can do some damage. :)

RE: The Ford Explorer Men only Edition

Well they live longer then men so there is that. I would say that is an advantage.
Affirmative action has more than made up for any advantage that men once had in hiring.
Still told what they can do with their bodies by old white men? Old white men prevent the use of women using birth control? Never seen that... If you mean abortion, that is society driven at the State level now, Your free to vote for whomever you like to make that decision for you.As spoken by an old white man. LOL

RE: stairs

Bravo, Grit Dog. My favorite is the dumping of dirt into the RV. Apparently they either don't have a broom or the few seconds it takes to use one.Yeah, that mud just brushes right off. :)
Face it, some of us hate them with a passion, because they're a PIA. You like them. Shoot, you could have mine if I could replace them easily.
But really, the worst thing about them is if you can't put the steps down, you can't get into your trailer. Smart engineering.

RE: The Ford Explorer Men only Edition

Cute. I get it . . . in recognition of Women's History Month. OK.
So, when is Men's History Month, or did I miss it?
The world's population is almost an equal split, 50.4% men, 49.6% women.
So, we should expect equal billing, right?Basically, every month is Men's History Month. Or hadn't you noticed? :)

"Not that long ago"? Heck 70 years is a fair amount of time to me. Not too long ago would be the turn of the century. :)

RE: Prostate problems

Doc subscribed 5mg Cialis daily for me, said is was good for the prostrate blood flow and often used for an enlarged prostrate. Google it. Extra benefit in there also.
Interesting. I'm already taking a blood thinner (Eliquis), so that may help with the blood flow through the prostate (?).I believe that Eliquis is an anti-coagulant, not a blood thinner. An anti-coagulant won't do anything for blood flow through the prostate.

RE: Route Planning Software - Android Tablet & PC

Phones and tablets are great, but why mess with something that just simply works? If he's doing most of the driving, give him the GPS. I've used RV Trip Wizard, and still prefer BaseCamp, and a good GPS.

RE: Axle and tire?

Well, you can get them for under $300, but that's still too expensive. IMO anyway.

RE: Tire Mileage

I'm assuming when they checked alignment, they also checked for axles that were straight, and hadn't lost their camber.

RE: stairs

We've had several spots in different storage lots, and all maximize their space by having trailers pretty close together. They are most definitely not spaced far enough apart to get the solid steps lowered. Never seen any that are parked that far apart.

RE: EMS

Nope, you're right. But an EMS will alert, and protect, you when voltage goes up, or down, to unsafe, for your electronics, levels. It will also alert you to other issues when plugging into the pedestal. A $70 surge protector will not.

RE: Visible Cell Plans & Service

The only customer service you get from Visible is via online chat or email. This is typically true. But if you are not getting results via chat you can really push the matter and arrange for a voice call back.I'd rather deal with a chat line, at least I can understand what they're typing. I've had too many encounters with call center employees that I cannot understand. They really need a bit more screening for operators that are going to be speaking to solely English speaking customers.

RE: stairs

Sorry, but your cost of OEM versus retail is wrong. Granted, there is a LOWER cost at OEM but the fact remains, that Retail costs are higher for the door fold down. BUT, the OEM for both types will be lower, but the door type is still higher than the standard old style. MOST of the door fold outs have an adjustable bottom leg to meet different uneven patio pads. I have NEVER had a customer complain about the door step type system. DougYou must be dealing with people who have never used them for any length of time. And that adjustable bottom step adjusts the steps only so far, so if the ground is too high, as in a curb, walkway, patio, then you can adjust that bottom step til you're blue in the face and they still don't work.
