RE: The end of an era.

Yes, after 5 years, no more Tesla semi thread. Thread title pretty much tongue in cheek. :)

The end of an era.

Let's all observe a moment of silence for a old friend that has been x'ed out. :)

RE: This net is dying!

I'm getting more confused. Therefore, I need to ask all of you....: Will it solve my immediate problem if I were to succeed in installing IMGUR into my desktop Dell windows-10 computer, THEN transfer photos from a digital camera into this IMGUR, ....THEN post photos from this IMGUR into this RV.NET forum? You don't "install" IMGUR, it's a hosting website, like Photobucket.

RE: Stops Catalytic Converter thefts! (inexpensive method)

Well, it can be tough to stop a determined, or lucky, thief.

RE: Stops Catalytic Converter thefts! (inexpensive method)

Well, having those cameras sure paid off. People are always telling me we need to have security cameras and now I see why. :)

RE: This net is dying!

I certainly see no reason you can't access IMGUR with your desktop. I've used a laptop, all-in-one, and a desktop PC. Using Windows 7 or Windows 10. Not an issue.

RE: Stops Catalytic Converter thefts! (inexpensive method)

Of course you have to wonder at the accuracy of those numbers. Remember the inflated value of drugs confiscated by the authorities during the "War on Drugs", and the incredibly inflated numbers of enemy casualties during the Vietnam War. My faith in numbers from the media is about as large as the period at the end of this sentence Oh yeah, there's no period there. :)

RE: This net is dying!

She plugs her iPhone into her HP laptop and a Photos app pops up. It connects and she transfers pics from her phone to her pc. The Photos app is part of Win10. It does say Photos will not transfer from the iCloud * Does this mean that IMGUR does not use the icloud? It seems unlikely. On Edit, unlikely that IMGUR uses iCloud.

RE: Influenza 2022-2023 Experiences - Comments Etc.

2010? Current strain of flu vaccine? Symptoms? From the vaccine? Not a real clear post.

RE: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

Maybe we could get back to RV related posts instead of NHRA related posts. How the semi pulls, and when/if the semi pulls is more relevant to this thread. :) Although relevancy seems varied at best. :) I did read somewhere that the Cybertruck is supposed to start production end of 2023. Seems like it's always going to happen "next year".

RE: Theft at a State park.......

Don’t let staying in a State Park give you a false sense of security, I was at the State Park in Lake Havasu in my truck camper, full hook ups, I unplugged my power cable but left my expensive surge protector locked to the electrical post, went around town, came back and the surge protector was gone! I complained to the front desk they asked around and then the Ranger came by with my surge protector! He said the “help” had thought I was gone and took it for safe keeping in case I would return. They didn’t check if I was there another night, which I was, they kept it in their shed, not the front desk, where I would have gone. I told the Ranger I was going to call the City Police and he wanted no part of that, so they credited me with my entire stay for free. I’ve also had chairs and a portable BBQ taken by the neighbors so they would not be “stolen”. If not for some nicer neighbors who came by and told me what happened, I would have lost those as well. Don’t trust anyone or any place….So you got all your stuff back? Nobody stole anything? Stolen stuff is rarely returned.

RE: Newbie - 36ft vs 41ft fifth wheel

Little to no difference in the actual towing. Getting into and out of service stations will be a bit more difficult with the larger 5th wheels. The longer trailers will make your selection of RV parking spots a bit fewer. Once you get up around 35 feet, a few feet more doesn't make a lot of difference.

RE: This net is dying!

I use Imgur and it works similarly to Photobucket. If you can use Photobucket, you can use Imgur.

RE: Refill small propane cylinder

Don't forget the "L" in LP is Liquid, so given some time, the liquid will flow downhill. Kind of sketchy IMO, given the possibility of leaks and pockets of propane gas, but people do it.

RE: Is there a back flow valve on the hot water outlet

Yes, should be a check valve, and those check valves are almost always plastic, and tend to have a short lifespan, sometimes measured in minutes if they aren't installed correctly, i.e. hamfistedly. :)

RE: This net is dying!

There are a bunch of brand specific forums now that RV.net used to cover. Now many people visit the brand specific ones, and forego the ones that aren't. From what I've seen, they want to come in, post a questions with few specifics and expect an answer. And of course everyone is supposed to be so nice and friendly, and be part of this wonderful family. Bah, I'll usually be civil, but cute and cuddly is not what I'm interested in. And I'm not looking for a family, I'm looking for information. There's a few smart a$$es on here that I could live without, on the whole I can ignore them without too much effort. They usually have decent information but suck at not being an a$$hat. Don't know why they feel they have to be offensive, but there ya go.

RE: Retirement and health care

does medicare cover a cost of hearing aids? No. Medicare will pay for hearing tests though. Some Medigap plans cover a bit of the cost of a hearing aid, but it's pretty minimal, and some hoops to jump through. I've heard VA will.
