RE: Drivers Door Controls

You can carefully pull off the cover (YouTube has videos on how to) and clean out the contacts. They are very susceptible to getting dust/crud and might work properly after cleaning. Had this happen on my 2010 Silverado and was able to get them working.

RE: Indian Reservations

Not here in the states but on our Alaska trip in 2019 we spent a few days in Carcross and visited the native center. We quickly made friends with a young lady there and were invited to a banquet to celebrate the local graduates. Had a great time and then met a master canoe builder. Very interesting to watch her and him building a large dugout canoe using traditional hand tools. Respect them and they'll probably respect you.

RE: Suggestions for Printer/Copier/Scanner for RV

We use an HP M14 laser, it's small and with the HP app on our phones it's very easy to take a picture of a document and then print it. That takes care of copying and scanning in one small footprint.

RE: Masterbuilt or Char Broil

Whatever you buy also buy a smoker tube. The tubes put out much more smoke than the built-in boxes. They also allow you to cold smoke cheese, fish, etc.

RE: Ever hear of this camping company? Harvest Host

Haha! yes it isn't for everyone. We've been HH members for years. It's a much better overnight stopover than a Walmart or other crowded busy place. Most HH places we've stayed are out in the country at a farm or winery, along a river or other peaceful setting. All of the hosts we've met are very nice, yes they usually have products to sell but we've never felt obligated to buy anything. We've tasted and bought some very nice wines and farm products but that is what we would have purchased at a store anyway.

RE: Lithium Batteries

The bigger issue is the float voltage. After a LiFePO4 battery is fully charged you want the float voltage to be no higher than what the manufacturer recommends. If your converter doesn't float at or below that voltage then just turn it off until you need to charge it again.

RE: Aqua Hot 450D troubleshooting cool air zone 2 (front)

Does this have the clear cube relays like the older model? If so pull them and reseat them. They sometimes get loose.

RE: Trinidad CO to Clayton NM (160->389->551->325->64)

Last year we took 160 at Trinidad to bypass Raton pass in our 36' towing. 160 is a narrow road with very little shoulder and hardly any place to pull over. Not a road I'd do again in a large rig. Very remote area. Raton pass other than the construction just before Raton heading south isn't bad. Easy pass compared to others in Colorado.

RE: Fuel mileage

Fuel mileage was never as much a concern as was range. I like to know how far can I go with what it's in my tank and where to fillup. But for those who care I've averaged 8mpg in both my 45' Newell and 36' Foretravel. That's driving 62 mph.

RE: DP oil change near dfw, texas

Might be a bit more than you want to drive but I've used Nacogdoches Motorhome Services in Nacogdoches of course. Great guys, quick, and they can do almost anything you want or need.

RE: Floorplan Help (rear living room)

Newell made a few with either a Murphy bed or some with a lounge area in the rear, typically used as an entertainer coach built for racing companies.

RE: Cost to have someone wash your FW

Look into Wash Wax All. I've been using that exclusively to wash my motorhomes for years. Most places accept using it since you're not using water. Quick and simple to do.

RE: Favorite Leftovers Recipes

Leftover meat especially with the gravy is great for adding to a packet of Ramen soup. Especially if you have some extra veggies to toss in.

RE: Fire in the coach.

LiFePO4 batteries are definitely MUCH safer than Lithium Ions. The recommended procedure is to flood the batteries with water IF they catch fire. Please do your research these are two completely different chemistries. Not sure what the batteries Tom/Barb is using but if LiFePO4 there is no concern for safety. I have 3 Battleborn 100 amp batteries in my motorhome and in a previous motorhome built a 1000 amphour system using Winston cells. Very safe systems, no concerns with fire.

RE: Online order

Good luck. I placed an order on May 17 for 2 Furrion A/Cs and it took over 3 weeks for the components to trickle in. I called over 5 times and got a different answer each time. Then I was told the 2 air distribution boxes were backordered for 2-3 weeks after I finally received the other components. So I ordered these 2 and paid for 2 day delivery so I could finish this install and cancelled the CW order for these 2. Two days after I received the order from another supplier 1 showed up crushed and damaged. The worst part? A friend ordered the same 2 days after I did and received his entire order in 1 week!

RE: Coleman thermostats sensor wires

Use colored ty-wraps to mark each wire, makes it real easy to know what wire goes where.
