RE: How to transfer large video from phone to computer

Try emailing it to yourself. You'll get an error message but it should allow you to upload it to the cloud and then download it to your computer using that link. Assuming you use gmail.

RE: Take our RV to Colorado or Store It?

What about leaving it in Cortez? That would get it closer but not yet in the mountains.
Hurry back, the snow's great!

RE: Roadtrip by car vs RV, a couple of thoughts...

Our story, after traveling for about 12 years in the motorhome we bought a cabin 1300 miles from our house. We leave in late May each year and spend 3+/- days traveling there in our Roadtrek 210P van. Then drive home in late Oct. or early Nov. Then in Jan. we drive the Tahoe to the cabin for a month or two.
It's much nicer traveling in the van, we can stand up and stretch, use the bathroom, fix lunch, and have our own beds. Occasionally if the weather's bad we'll stay in a hotel.
Interestingly we get the same fuel mileage in both. In the RT we're driving 64mph and the Tahoe we'll drive the speed limit. But the way our trip is it will take 3 days at either speed.
It generally costs less in the RT since we're not eating out and not staying in hotels.

RE: Fire Cube Gen 3

I've found in the past years that smart TV's don't always update the apps. I use Roku's for that reason.

RE: Time to Paint the RV - Who's good at it ?

Xtreme paint and graphics in Nacogdoches, TX does fantastic work. They're usually very busy. They also have a free apartment available for people having multiday work done.
They've done repair work on my Foretravel and also a full repaint.

RE: Aqua-Hot in Cold Weather - Issues with Performance?

Which controller do you have? Silver one? or the newer one from Aquahot?
There was a black controller (I think made by Spheros?) that was problematic. The newest one from Aquahot should be better but expensive at ~ $1000
There is a guy who rebuilds the silver boxes, can't remember his name but he is on ebay.

RE: Lumbar Epidural Steroid Injection

In the last 15-20 years I've had shots for 2 herniated discs in lower back. They gave me relief for a period of time but now I'm having nerve ablations done which give me better and longer relief. These are done as out patient in my doc's office under a local. A bit of discomfort but better than "going under."
Just realize that none of this cures the problem, just gives you some relief from the pain. At some point I'll need surgery but I'm trying to avoid that as long as the NA works.

Another tip while traveling through Canada make note of Canadian holiday weekends and expect Provincial campgrounds to be pretty full.

RE: Good enclosed cig lighter socket?

Search on Amazon, there are some that have a locking ring that helps to retain the plugin.

RE: Severely damaged windshield … is yourMH totaled ?

Some manufacturers used commonly available parts including windshields. They just may not want to tell you that. Check for a forum for that model and you might find it uses a GM or other windshield.

RE: dinghy towing question

I bought 4 large washers and put one on each side of the pin. That helps keep the cotter pin isolated.

RE: TV & 30 ft TT to Mini Van and 17 ft TT

We have a 2011 Roadtrek 210P on a Chevy chassis with 6 liter engine and 6 speed transmission. We average about 15mpg driving at 60mph. I also just towed our Lexus GX470 with it and averaged 12 mpg.
Our Roadtrek has everything needed built in. And is much easier to drive than a small car pulling a small camper.
Just another option.

RE: Turn Your Regular Grill into a Smoker - Easy

I've been using a Carpathen smoker tube for a few years now and it works fantastic with pellets to produce lots of smoke. There are many different brands out there.

RE: Louisiana RV Parks - Shreveport and Baton Rouge

Lamar Dixon in Gonzales is off I-10 just east of Baton Rouge and has large gravel pull throughs with full hookups. When you drive in there is a campground to the right but go to the right behind the large buildings and you'll see the larger campground.
Also Cabela's also in Gonzales allows overnight RV parking to the right of the store.

RE: Water Pressure Regulator

I've done the tank fill & use method for over 8 years and had no problems with pumps. Another benefit to doing this is if your tanks are in a heated basement and the water coming out of the ground is 36º is has a chance to heat up before you use it.

RE: Dentist in Mexico

https://www.dentaldepartures.com is a great resource. We've used Ciro Dental for a few years and have had cleanings, crowns and my DW has had an implant there. There are dental labs in Los Algodones so a crown, etc. only takes a couple days.
We did try one of the large clinics once because our Dentist was out of town and were thoroughly disappointed. First we had to pay up front, then came the hard sell for all kinds of services. Finally after sitting over an hour waiting for our cleaning and seeing people walking up and getting serviced before us we decided to give up. Took over an hour to get our money back.
There are a couple hundred dentists in Los Algodones so there is much competition to provide great prices and service. Nice parking lot at the border, walk across, then go through customs to get back into the USA.
Bring your Rx's list and check out eyeglass prices there also.

RE: Solo fire pit

I thought about and almost bought one but decided to get this instead, may not be as smokeless: https://www.ebay.com/itm/184629779053
Note that this is for my cabin but since it's collapsible and built out of heavy steel should work for an RV. This is another brand that is very similar: https://www.ebay.com/itm/304266221025?hash=item46d7ae15e1:g:V90AAOSwuj5hui4~
Also there are many copies of the Solo (not sure who copied who).
