New Ride

Last October I ordered a new F150, Platinum fo replace my 2019 F150 work truck.. Well,It came in last Thursday and I picked it up Saturday.... Its the 2022 Platinum F150 , 4x4 , 6.5' bed, 5.0... Its a nice riding truck, it will be close to a grocery getter as my 2020 F350 is the REAL Work truck.. I will put some miles on this one, about 25k a year, 3 year lease and start over.... https://i.imgur.com/lWRDD4Yl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/a2q6Oekl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/i4ktTg9l.jpg

RE: Dish Satellite Dish

We used to use the Dish Pathway X2 . . It allows you to watch ALL 3 satellites and will work on eastern arch or western arch. It also has 2 output ports - 1 for the main, and 1 for secondary. The issue will be that whatever satellite the MAIN receiver is on is the satellite that the secondary will get stations at the same time ..SO, if your watching 2 TV;s and all is good.... IF the person on the main receiver changes the channel to watch something different, if that show is on a different satellite, the person watching the secondary TV will loose their signal. I believe that's what the OP was trying to explain he hates and is why he wants a standard antenna with 3 LNB's. Yea, I read it as though it would only get 1 satellite..... It would not be the first time that I didn't comprehend what I read.... just ask my wife :S

RE: Spare tire pressure

Off topic, but kind of related; Spare tire on TV. Most people at least look at tires on the ground every day but often do not check the spare. I always air my spare up to max sidewall on the theory it is more likely to have enough when I need it. Yes, I have a compressor, can air up spare. But it is quicker to reduce pressure and over inflated is safer than under inflated. Good Point ! I do this once a month during tow season..... I learned the HARD way.. had a flat and put a spare on that was under inflated...

RE: RV's and internet connections

I have been using Calyx Institute for a couple of years... NO throttling.... It is truly unlimited.... I set up camp and can set all 3 TV's to the hotspot provided and watch unlimited TV while camping.. PROVIDED I HAVE A DECENT CELL 9 wifi ) SIGNAL... If our in th eboonies, all bets re off, normally, if you have a good phone signal, the hotspot will work.. It is part of T mobile/Sprint ..

RE: 50A RV with 30A plug?

I agree with all the above.... that RV IS wired for 50 amp, just go out and buy a new 50 amp detachable cord and good to go.. Keep the existing 30 amp cord as a spare in case you camp at a park that only offers 30 amp

RE: 2020 F350 6.7 weak start

Finally - the dealership replaced both batteries under warranty. The reason "upon inspection found both batteries to be leaking" Means they never even looked at it for the 2 days they had it earlier in the week. Glad to hear you all whole again ! ! ! ! Will look forward to hear how FAST it started today !

RE: 2020 F350 6.7 weak start

Got it back from the dealer and when I started the next morning the start was weaker than it's ever been. It's probably close to not starting at all. Also it's starting to do weird electronic things, like the window going down when I press it to go up and the clock keeps resetting itself to 24 HR. I change it back and the next day it resets. Based on what I've read these are clear signs the batteries are going bad. Having them load tested today at the auto parts store. It's also clear the dealership essentially did nothing. If it's the batteries, can I get them replaced under warranty without the dealership? Do I just bite the bullet and buy better batteries than the motorcraft ones? I'll have to look but I think the batts carry their own warranty but being motorcraft I assume it's through Ford. IF it were me.. IF the bats came back as BAD after the load test, I would take that truck right over to Ford and have them load test it in front of you.. The issue will be that they will say that bats may not be covered as people can cause harm to them by leaving STUFF on at night.....BUT, It won't hurt to ask / demand....

RE: '22 Powerstroke seems a little thirstier than the '21 was.

I just turned 95k on my OLD 15 RAM today. Did a fine job towing my 24k DRV with Harley towed behind. 1,300 miles in 26 hours over two days. Yea I’m tired but the truck says it’s ready to go again. Back home from Socal >?

RE: '22 Powerstroke seems a little thirstier than the '21 was.

^^^ So why not order a ‘22 and when it comes in sell your ‘20? Extremely Happy with my 2020... not looking to miss a year of camping either.... If you keep your ‘20 till the ‘22 comes in you won’t be missing out on any camping. I am NOT banking on the prices staying where they are.... The bottom HAS TO DROP at some point.. With MY luck, that would happen a month before making my trade !:S Not to mention, I have a rather large addition going up right now that has most of my funds tied up temporarily..

RE: '22 Powerstroke seems a little thirstier than the '21 was.

Pickups haven't depreciated too badly for awhile, especially diesel pickups. That said the last year or two has been strange in that regard. Limited availability and much higher real world pricing on new trucks have really propped up older truck values. I think I could sell my 2015 for what I paid new or very close to it, and that's 7 years and 85k miles later. ya thats what they keep saying but even now I can save over 30K off sticker price waiting for a 2 year lease return. that 30% average hasn't changed in about 10 years. the dealerships keep pumping out adds sayign the used car demand is at its highest and you'll get a lotto of money but when you go its normal maybe a little higher but nothing specatacular.... I was looking at trading in on a new dualie ;) I guess you're meaning you can buy a 2020 for $30k less than 2022 sticker price? That is surprising .... I sold my 2021 for $300 more than 2022 sticker price. no, I could get a 2019 today here for about 30% lower than what it was sold for in 2018/2019. when I bought my 2014 in 2016 it was originaly sold for 86000 bucks, I got it for 51000 including extended warenty and such. the spred is about the same today but the numbers are higher. I was looking at a 2020 a year and a bit ago to replace min but it was still only a single rear wheel and it was 109000 so I said mine still does real good, I'll pass haha I haven’t paid anywhere even close to those numbers for my fully loaded Platinums but like I stated in an earlier post my dealer has been treating me very well. Was that $109,000.00 for a 2020? My dealer offered me $82,000.00 for my 2020 Platinum with 14,000 miles.. It is dead center of trade value on KBB

RE: What is J-Wrap?

Hi Ford truck guy, You guys knew what happened and what was being done to fix it. My concern is no one seems to know anything! The Coach builder should have it by the end of the week and I hope to know then what happened? The dealership is playing Sgt Shultz. I KNOW NOTHING. The dealership has accomplished what it started. It does NOT have to pay thousands of dollars to fix their screw up and have passed to the OEM. Doug I agree 100%.. My buddy was lucky, the dealership owned up to it... heck, they showed us the camera footage.. That is how they found out about it.. The lot person did NOT tell anyone, the people that prep it saw it and that when they looked on the camera.. The trailer was 100% usable so he/we took it from TN as is.. the dealership arranged for Grand Design to ship all parts direct to my buddy, the dealership arranged with our local dealership in PA to install everything and send the invoice directly to them in TN.. They even offered to keep the unit, replace the parts and deliver it 16 hours to us, all for free.. we decided to take it as they had trips planned. I will say, Lazy Days in Murfreesboro TN owned their screw up.... I would have to be concerned with that dealer going forward, as they seam to be covering up something.

RE: '22 Powerstroke seems a little thirstier than the '21 was.

How old qualifies as a beater? When I can sell mine for what I paid maybe I will trade ;) (not really)My dealer offered to buy my 2020 with 15,000 miles for more $$$ than I paid for it new... BUT, I would be paying big bucks for a replacement.. I'm good for now..Almost like a Ponzi scheme waiting to see who is stuck with the highest loan payment at the bust. Well, that wont be me as its paid for in full....
