RE: Question for Toyota Tacoma owners

I have a 1st generation Taco . 2004 V6 5 speed. Once towed a car on dual axle Uhaul car trailer. It was terrible and dangerous. Don't know what you are towing but I don't think a small sport truck like a Taco is NOT good for heavy loads.

RE: 1997 Winnebago Electric Stairs - No Power

Howdy,
I believe the steps are powered in when the ignition is switched on. Regardless of the on/off switch position. May be an issue there.

RE: Purchasing a Jackery or something similar....need help....

Side BAR: Using electricity to heat water (as in coffee maker) makes no sense to me. You can save power by using your gas stove to percolate / press.....

RE: Stealth Camping Tennessee

Yea, I really got a lot of good ideas from reading George's blog. He had sections on cooking, budgets, lots of technical stuff about RV's and also some life philosophy. He taught me about the real weakness in the corners of rv construction due to the moldings not being wide enough. He also had tragedy when he lost his son. I even wanted to meet up with him when he was in CA and I was going to be out there for business but it never happened. He always replied to my emails even when he got popular and many folks emailed with him. His last project of converting a rental truck to an rv was really interesting and he was doing a great job of it and using very high quality appliences. Just reminds me we all have limited time on this earth and we should make the best of it.

RE: Stealth Camping Tennessee

I too am a friend of Tioga George. I miss his blog. I had been following him since the beginning when he was in remission from cancer. He really knew a lot about campers and camping....Too bad about the laws not allowing camping in public spaces. Not surprised with the way the world is going. That new thing where you join a service that connects you to private folks that will allow you to dry camp on their land/driveway may be a good thing.

RE: Alternative to 4wd

Thanks for all the replies and shared experiences. I'll check out the Eaton unit. Might be enough of an improvement over my open diff.

Alternative to 4wd

Howdy, has any one installed a rear locker on their differential? I have a 02 Ford E350 with V10 and would like to install an electric locker to help free the vehicle when stuck in mud, wet grass, snow....... I have found that being such a heavy vehicle is no help in some situations. 4wd conversion I.E. Quigly.. is too expensive and would not be necessary. From driving a pick up with rear locker, I think that is the answer for me. Any product recommendations?
Thank you
