RE: Seven States to Ban the Sale of Gas Powered Cars in 2035

Just out: Ford projects it will lose 3 billion dollars on its electrical vehicle production in 2023. Margins on Rivian's products are at negative sixty-two percent. It has been three years since Tesla teased their Cybertruck - no trucks yet. Word is market viability is a large concern. Those that tow may be forced into EVs by a certain date in certain states. However, there may not be anyone manufacturing product for them to buy. Companies cannot eat losses like these and remain viable. . Yet Tesla makes bilions on their EVs. Ford just doesnt have the know how to build at profit, why is that? Check Munro live chanel for answers Cybrtrk is delayed bc of batery shortage.

I assume a bison expels much more gas than a cow??? But the greenies love those bison and say nothing about their gas expelling. I have never had a bison burger. Maybe someday. Bison meat is very lean dry. I dont like it. Btw its cows breath that expels CO2 alegedly the cause of global heating not methane.

RE: Seven States to Ban the Sale of Gas Powered Cars in 2035

As for charging time, when we travel long distance I figure refueling time is at least 20 minutes. The time to exit the freeway, get in line at a gas station, fill up and be on my way. so..... based on the advances in fast charging if the Gov't would change the laws around interstate rest stops and allow comercial activity, good chance I could pull into a rest stop, hook up, use the facilities, get a short rest and be on my way in about the same time it takes today to refuel. Course naysayers will say "but power isn't available at the rest stops!" well true today, but I suspect if it was opened up just like with cell phone transmission auctions, companies and power companies would be lining up to bid. BTW I've been to europe, The rest stops in europe are DECADES AND MILES AHEAD OF US. nice rest stops, restauarants, fuel, and other stuff all in one stop. I suspect the rules on no comercial activity on US. interstate rest stops was just a way to placate cities that were being bypassed by interstate to get people to stop in the city. Just like when unleaded fuel became a requirement, all the sudden it happens and "fueling" will be as easy or easier than today AND I'll be able to avoid trips to the "gas" station most of the time by recharging at home.https://youtu.be/3xDPthEy1gM havent been to Europe but seen some travelers in Japan and their highway rest stops are pretty awesome too. All kinds of foods snacks souvenirs and even showers available. https://youtu.be/3xDPthEy1gM

RE: Seven States to Ban the Sale of Gas Powered Cars in 2035

…The last new coal fired power plant to start up in the US was in 2013. And no plans for any new coal power plants. And not likely to get permits if they wanted to. US only has about 500 coal fired power plants and those are slowly being shut down. That just goes to prove how big of a SUCKER the US is. While we phase out coal, the rest of the world uses more and more. Look in the mirror, see that word stamped on your forehead? And don’t forget to keep putting them same people back in power. If you have ever visited China you would probably be anti coal. Took a business trip there years ago with three co workers. Air was thick enough to cut. Took a train from Hong Kong to Guanghou passing some kind of coal plants. For probably a mile diameter around them the ground was black with coal dust. We all had respiratory issues for 3-4 weeks after our return. Our company’s business was in controls for power plants and I visited a lot of them. Retired now. US plants are much cleaner but still not a place you would likely choose to live near. Fwiw Last time I checked China is going solar wind hydro to lower the polution. https://youtu.be/MIbbkW6dB98 https://youtu.be/4zt-SMlaaM8

Pretty easy to know California's position when it comes to emissions and ICE vehicles. Just assume the worst case/anti business scenario imaginable and you got your answer. BTW Fish, did you know someone recorded you with your new Kalifornia neighbors? . :B very funny vid Honestly tho anyone thinking guns are solution to crime is nutz. Go visit Japan or Singapore or Philipines or any asian country to see how safe it is without everyone packing heat. Let you know their secret,,they execute drug pushers https://youtu.be/EqojEHuCoVQ

RE: Ford 150 lightning recall

Typical forum BS. ... "Battery fires were such a huge issue for General Motors that the company had to issue a mass recall on the Chevy Bolt EV. The recall cost the company over one billion dollars. GM is looking to cut ties with LG following its battery fire issue.... Battery fires were enough to make GM want to abandon its partnership with LG. It seems LG isn’t the only company that is producing EV batteries that can cause fires. According to CNBC, the F-150 Lightning models that are fire risks are powered by SK On batteries. These batteries power several popular electric vehicles, including the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6." What part of this news story is a lie ????. This same news has appeared in other business news articles besides motor biscuit KH. Many RVers own other EV vehicles besides the F 150. Retired financial/tax accountant and overseas commercial helicopter pilot. https://ibb.co/SBJP2dY GM and LG continue a partnership to build Ultium batteries. GM did replace batteries for all Bolt's. There were less Bolt fires than Tesla's running into parked emergency equipment on the highway. I own a EV, gasoline, and diesel. I use what makes sense. Please continue to research information from reliable and varied sources. Tesla doesnt run into anything. Its the drivers responsiblity to hold steering wheel at all times, Read the owners manual before driving Tesla. Sleeping behind the wheel or being drunk then blaming Tesla was the cause in each acident.

RE: Ford 150 lightning recall

Want to see a lot of EV on the road, come to the Phoenix area. Tesla's everywhere. I would note that we snowbirds come each fall to try and slow traffic down, and each year we fail. Speed limits have been complete thrown out now. I do not know why they even maintain the speed limit signs. I still think that built in batteries in EVs was a mistake, they should have been swappable. Pull into a swap station and the robot swaps the battery for a fully charged one and bills you for the amp hrs used and sends you on your way in a couple minutes. I fly electric model airplanes and race 1/10 scale RC trucks. Both hobbies are based on swappable batteries. Swapable batts may be ok for bikes but unecesary expense for cars imo. My main worry would be how do you know you get new battery and not some worn out abused one? Also The problem w bolts holding the batt pack wearing out or being dirty and not conecting properly. And How do coolant lines get conected fast and proper? Too many things I dont like that could go wrong.

RE: Electric and ICE forever together?

dig out your calculator and lets use some actual data on EV sales. And EV sales are NOT 1% of the market, more like 5-7% and rising. last year (2022) EV sales in the US were 850,000. Now let's assume 100% got a 7500 gov't credit. That comes to 6.3B, I'd say 20B on fossil fuel subsidies FAR exceeds 6.3B, not the other way around While you got your calculator out, you might want to add in $7.5B for EV Charging and $7.0B for EV battery developmnt in the Inflation Reduction Act (Aug 16, 2022); and we ain't got to the Infrastructure and Investment Act (Nov 19, 2021) or the federal funded improvements to the electric grid (alot of which are necessitated in order to have EV charging). 100% credit is incorecto Tesla buyers no longer qualify for tax credit ever since it built over 200 thousand vehicles. https://www.nerdwallet.com/article/taxes/ev-tax-credit-electric-vehicle-tax-credit Btw Tesla paid for their Supercharging network w their own money!

RE: Electric and ICE forever together?

Geez, that's why you are constantly making a friggin stink about EVs? Because your tax dollars are being spent on it... Get over it. Our tax dollars are spent on tons of stuff and no one person is EVER going to be happy with 100 percent of the way it's spent. And yes, we even pay into things that we have no desire to be a part of - big frickin deal. Reading comprehension. It matters - or in this case maybe that's part and parcel of the problem. EV's were touted as green using parts of science and one fraction of the process of production to convince voters and those in power to dump a bunch of money into it. They aren't green and they won't save the planet. Full stop. I don't mind tax dollars being spent on things that actually benefit the general populous. That is not the case here. EV's don't solve a single problem - ecological or otherwise. They actually cause a lot of problems many of which are short to come with long term consequences. Actualy EV solve one big problem which is air polution. Prety important for those living in crowded cities. Driling for oil and burning fosil fuels is what makes sick and kils many milions of people every year. And if your house power goes down in winter one can nicely survive keeping warm in Tesla even if parked in a garage. Try that with gas or diesel vehicle :) https://youtu.be/N-BTBsyjCaw

RE: Electric and ICE forever together?

Was told by a car salesperson that don't be fooled into thinking ICE Vehicles will not be manufactured anymore or sold after 2035. He said they will still be manufactured along with electric ones and you will have a choice which you want to purchase. Don't know if he was just feeding me a line or was giving me factual information. I think By 2030 there will be more EVs made then ICE. Ford to triple ev production in 2023. Bigest problem is stealers adding on huge mark up in price https://youtu.be/vaL7BLvgM-8 Thats where Tesla has big advantage as one can buy factory direct. Also their advanced tech manufacturing guarantees it will always be very profitable unlike some ev makers. Munro live Dont bet against Elon Musk https://youtu.be/5fe548XvavY Since we talk trucks. Cybrtrk w over milion reservations will be seling like proverbial hot cakes for many years and no doubt will outperform every other truck, just like Tesla cars do. Why would anyone buy gas or diesel with its asociated cost maintanance is beyond me.

Cure for depresion

One of my relatives kid around 30 years old sufers from ocasional depresion. Hes financialy well off and does sports running etc,but one time he went to donate blood doctors told him his iron level is too low so they refused his blood donation. Found out hes a vegan and dont eat meat. I figured thats the problem. I couldnt last half a day If I didnt have meat or fish every day. Never been depresed in my life yet. In milions of years of human evolution people survived on eating meat and fish mostly,so without meat people cant be healthy and human body needs meat protein. Besides cows eat plants, grass, hay flowers and turn it into meat,so beef is basicaly made of plants so cow, deer, moose etc is one big vegetable. Why would vegans avoid it is a mystery.

RE: Can the grid keep up with EV use?

AC/Heater vs. EV range. Clicky From link above With the seat warmers on and the heat on full blast, the Tesla lost over 60 miles of range compared to the figure we recorded with no HVAC use./quote Thats just too funny,do people drive without wearing pants ? :B I wear thermal underwear and parka in winter and was never cold even at minus 30 ,sugest you do the same.

RE: EV alternative for light/medium duty trucks

I don't think anyone assumes EV's are going away. However, I think a lot of people believe EV's are not going to be the panacea that some people assume they will be. Last time I bought new Silverado I paid 23g. Until Tesla lowers the price way more Im keepin my truck bit longer. And judging by huge demand for Tesla even w their 4 giga factories going full speed it wont be any time soon. Dont care for any other EVs their quality just isnt there and never will be when CEO doesnt know what goes on down the line or hires incompetent enginers. https://youtu.be/0zjiMC2GT1M Tesla sucess is bc Musk knows every detail of its cars production and isnt scared to get down to asembly line to improve things. I remember people laughing at him sleeping in the factory. Well look who is laughing now https://youtu.be/9vFInzaFi6o EV advantage is obvious,no stinky exhaust kiling and makin people sick but also lack of usual maintanance, oil changes etc. Electric motor will last forever and bateries at least milion miles. Ev motor is 99% eficient, and has only one moving part, no ICEngine can come anywhere near that. Cant stop progress and evolution, that simple.
