Good Sam RA Leap!

Roadside assistance is close to the expiration date. Got an email stating they attempted to charge my credit card for renewal but it did not go through. Geez, I wonder why? Anyhow Good Sam would like me to pay $139 or $149. Last year I paid $69. Granted there were promotions going on which I took advantage of. I emailed back that I had no intention of paying double what I did last year and please make another offer. Have not heard back from them and doubt I will. The old gray mare is just not what she used to be.

RE: 5er hitch options RAM MegaCab w/6'4" bed - Solitude 310GK

Can suggest what not to buy and that is a gooseneck with your 6'4" bed. I have had 3 5th wheels. The first 2 were pulled by a long (standard) bed truck. Both had gooseneck hitches with a retractable ball in the bed. Loved them. Open bed when detatched, easy to hook/unhook. I could turn the trailer perpendicular to the truck without a problem. No worry about hitting the rails. This truck is a short bed with a retractable gooseneck ball. I now have a dimple in each rear corner of the cab. I am lucky I did not shatter the rear window. You just do not have the turning angle with the short bed/gooseneck arrangement. . Danger!

RE: do you do this

I will guess you are concerned about flat spots on your tires. My understanding is that it is not an issue with radial tires but was for bias ply.

RE: Replacing drum brakes ???

I replaced the brake assemblies and bearings last winter on my 2004 Keystone Cougar. If you have any mechanical ability it is fairly easy. Dexter 10' electric brake assemblies (4): $175 Wheel bearings for 4 wheels: $54 This time I used a company named Sturdy Built Trailer (online). I believe they were cheaper than etrailer for the same brand assemblies.
