RE: Demco Autoslide or B&W Companion Slider

I like my B&W slider, and its rock solid with no slack, but it takes me 5 seconds to get out and pull the lever. I have considered an auto slider, but the reviews say they have to be within a certain degree to hitch, and not sure I want that.

RE: Help and Advice on a badly placed 5th wheel

Get a tractor with a front bucket or rear lift pole, chain it up to the pinbox, and your done.

RE: Anyone have a 2018 Keystone Cougar 29 series 5er?

I had an 01 Cougar I towed with a half ton, and I'm pretty sure it will be nose high on your truck. Sorry I can't help with measurements, I sold it in 04.

RE: first time winterizing my 5th wheel

On a dishwasher I would think you need to pull the bottom front panel, and remove the drain, and discharge connections. i don't know if I would run antifreeze through it to avoid this. Maybe someone with an RV DW will respond.

RE: What happened to all the posts

Yes the keyboard bullies here scared a lot of people away sadly, and made it hard to ask for advice on some topics. Fifth wheels are pretty much problems just waiting to happen, so there is always going to be people who need advice, including me.

RE: Springs

You might have had a shackle flip while leveling.

RE: Stranded/broke down

All you need in Costa Rica is a diesel Toyota Hilux :)

RE: Roof caulking?

Top pick does not look like Dicor self leveling, and the non sag caulk is horrible. The bottom pick looks like putty tape that dried, and cracked.

RE: Newbie question about 3.73 locking rear axle on F250 4x2

I wish Ford would offer an Eaton Truetrac. I would pay twice what they get for a locker. I totally agree on the Truetrac, an electric rear locker will get you in trouble on wet pavement, especially in a curve.

RE: Jeep Rubicon Gladiator vs the Rubicon Trail

What a joke, I couldn't even watch all of it. They should have stayed on class 1 or 2 trails with a stock vehicle.

RE: How tight are the lugs? Repacking bearings.

I hope the factory didn't ruin mine. I checked my new fw last week, and they were torqued to 170ft. lbs., I had to get a pipe to extend my breaker bar to loosen them to 120 ft.lbs.

RE: GM Strike

Former union carpenter, and Teamster. I read that the UAW employees are upset that they have to pay 3% of their health insurance. Give me a break.

RE: Screw pulled out of exterior fiberglass wall

Tooth picks, and silicone, don't over tighten, and let set overnight before hanging door on it.

RE: Will fifth wheel front hit truck back window?

Hi. This question applies to anyone with a 2008 or newer Canadian built Citation Supreme or Corsair Excella 5th wheel. These units have a rounded front and not a flat front. I have a Dodge Ram with a 6'4" box and a B & W Companion fixed (not slider) 5th wheel hitch mounted in the usual position between the wheel wells. Will the front of one of these 5th wheels hit the rear window of the truck on a hard turn? I'm thinking because of the rounded front of the 5th wheel I may be safe. Thanks I believe B&W shows 3" back, with the truck attachment in position 2, to be the farthest you can go, and should give you a little over 40" from the cab. You will still have to be careful backing, but many people use this setup.
