RE: I'm actually in favor of high cancelation fees....

I agree Rec.gov could use some rule changes.

RE: New Truck question(s)

1/2 ton.3/4 ton,1 ton, will be the same driveline wise.
Only difference being the differential ratios. Most often the engine is even detuned on 3/4 and above!
The 1/2 ton does not have the same drivetrain, and the diesels are only detuned in the cab and chassis models.

RE: 5th wheel lube

I had to get the thinner lube plate so my hitch jaws would lock correctly.

RE: Battery size question

I would just get one deep cycle battery and bring it home during off season to keep on a battery tender.

RE: Black tank valve replacement

Thanks for the update, and glad you got it fixed. I've had projects like that, and once you commit there is no turning back.

RE: Transitioning Class A to Super duty truck and Fifth Wheel

Those are both good choices, with a few differences.
The Cougar has a bigger shower, and a wardrobe slide out.
The GD has a 50 amp service, pre wired for a second AC, and larger fridge.

RE: Tires and their pressures

On a SRW one ton I would think 80psi would be the correct pressure for towing.

RE: 5th wheel pin lubricate

Wow Gary, always enjoyed your posts, and messages! But hearing of your smearing grease all over your nice B&W, IDK?? :)
I had an elderly neighbor, that purchased a new B&W, to put in his new GM. He had trouble seeing, to line things to hook up, using a 1/4" disc. I told him to get the thinner 1/8" disc. Instead he got a big can of spray grease, that he sprayed all over his pin, all over his hitch, the bed of his new truck, and likely his glasses. He gave up (health issues), sold everything.
Anyway...Gary...take a look at that 1/8" disc, that B&W now sells on their page. I will send a check, if needed, but with your fancy rig, money should be a non-issue!
Jerry
Honestly I didn't know they even made an 1/8" disc, but sounds like the ticket.

RE: 5th wheel pin lubricate

Good old grease for me, no worries about high hitching my B&W with it's thick jaws.
