RE: shackle replace

Use jack stands to support the frame in front, and behind the axles, there is no need to lift much, and use a bottle or floor jack to remove tires, a floor jack or two helps doing both axles one side at a time. Being 18 years old, I would consider replacing springs, equalizers, and shackles with new ones. I have always used Dexter, or MorRyde products for the axles weight rating.

RE: Pick up tool Box extra fuel tank

You tow with the slider toward the cab, and slide it back for backing in to tight spots, unless you get an auto slider that does it for you. With a short bed you will probably need a tool box combo with a beveled bottom, to make room for the hitch base. RDS 41 gallon

RE: Gear Oil For 2011 F250

An electric locking dif does not not need an additive, since there are no clutches. I'm not sure what weight fluid it calls for, but Lucas is good dif oil.

RE: Ok what truck to buy ?

I’m a GM guy, but that Ford 7.3 with the 10 speed and 4.30 gears look like an awesome combination. I am also not a fan of that cylinder deactivation on the Ram, more things to go wrong. X2

RE: First 5th wheel advise

My son-in-law is looking for a good first 5th wheel under 32'. He will be pulling it with a Ram 2500 CTD.I am not sure what to recommend in that size for two people. Any recommendations would be appreciated. I would stay with around 12k for max rv weight, GVWR, with a 3/4 ton. Look for one that has a floor plan that allows you to access the fridge, and bathroom with the slides closed, for quick lunch breaks while traveling. I have owned, Forest River Cedar Creek, Keystone, Jayco, Vanleigh, and have not had any major problems from any of them.

RE: Should we buy a Ford 5th Wheel Hitch?

Hello again, We have talked this over and can see that you should have a dually diesel for a 41 foot fifth wheel. There is a strong possibility that there will be growth in the weight of the pin. So, we like the F250 with the 7.3 and will keep our order. In August we will select a 35 foot fifth wheel or a 38 foot TT. Both are well within the capability of our F250. Thanks, Crespro You are correct, and thats a wise decision.

RE: Drier sheets, magic Eraser and glass

This works great for hard water spots, and glass looks new. Spray glass cleaner on a micro fiber towel, and add this to make a paste. https://i.imgur.com/hEI2SFPl.jpg

RE: Question on Lippert 3 Auto leveling system

My driveway slopes front to back a foot, so when I unhitch, I run the front main legs down at least a foot before lowering the inside of the leg. That way when I push auto level, the front has plenty of room to lower to the stop point, and I use 4" blocks under the rear to keep from extending them so much. The hitch height works great most of the time since the front is always higher when I start auto level.

When going to hitch up are you pushing retract all, then hitch height?

RE: Lifting fifth wheel

Most lite version 5th wheels are lower to allow towing by half ton trucks, and also if you have a sub frame built, you might want to allow for the future addition of 16" wheels, and tires.
