RE: Cumbres Toltec Scenic Railway - Southern Rockies

The problem I saw with the Durango-Silveton is that it runs down the canyon where views are restricted.

Do you contribute ?

I know that many of us use various APPs for finding facilities. We look at ratings?, comments, locations, inclusions, prices (if applicable) and what ever else. We use AllStays, Gas Buddy, Free RV parking, RV Park Reviews and many others. My question is how many actually contribute their knowledge to improve or maintain these valuable resources ?

RE: easy place to get gas

Had a 36’ Foretravel towing a Jeep, my favorite was Walmart due to the price. It carried 180gal of diesel.

Phoenix Cruiser

Has anyone here had dealings with Phoenix Cruiser since the ownership changes ? I’d be interested in knowing how it went ? Do they present the same values & responsiveness as old ? Contact me by PM if you would feel more comfortable.

RE: Onan generator

Wonder how tall a Champion 3400 would be if you took the handles & Fuel tank off the top? Not concerned about warranty issues, nor closing the top of the case. Just looking for a inverter type replacement that will fit.

RE: Chevy Class C?

After owning 2 Lazy Daze on the Ford E450 chassis i would not have another. My present is on a Chevy 4500. The difference is like night & day ... for us. Both of my LD were on the previous generation chassis, the last was on a 06 chassis. I understand the the latest are improved, but I checked to see if the horseshoe was hot 2x, I’m a slow learner, but the experience finally gets thru to me.

RE: 30A or 50A Choice

Sorry I didn’t sit here and watch the thread all day, but, being retired I have other things that I have to spend my time on... I intended the question to address a 30A, or a 50A RV.

RE: Pulled the Trigger on LiFePo4

I believe I was an early user of the BB batteries, almost 3yrs on mine. I replaced 3x grp 8 lifeline AGM (450# & 380 USABLE AH)in my Foretravel with 4 BB (108# & 380 USABLE AH) batteries. The Foretravel had a residential refer and 5cu ft chest freezer in it. Made a trip to Alaska, boondocking as much as possible, never had a problem. We downsized into a 24’ class C and I kept the BB batteries. I have 400-520 W of solar availability and with the batteries I can EASILY run 3 days with no sun at all. The folks a BB have been some of the best, most helpful I’ve ever delt with. They helped me set up my system, getting the correct parameters for my inverter/charger, battery monitor & solar controller from the manufacturer for their batteries. Coming out of Alaska, with the freezer full of fish I began to be a little concerned with the freezing temps. I sent BB an email on Sunday, and received a reply that afternoon. 24° on a Cell and the BMS would shut off that cell from charging, since mine were (are) enclosed I have not had an issue.

RE: Does anyone use an Instant Pot in their TC

Hope a reply from a class C owner is OK? When I bought my C I removed the dinette, replaced with a couple of small recliners. Along the wall I built a 12” W closed bench to compensate for the storage lost with the dinette. At the end section in the corner, behind the driver seat, I made the bench slightly wider to hold the 6qt Instant Pot. we run it on batteries (4x Battle Born) so it is used a LOT. Our C is only 24’ so almost a PUC.
