RE: 50 amp RV outlet

I have the four wires. Right now the neutral and ground are connected together. I will check to make sure the neutral is connected correctly in the circuit box though.

50 amp RV outlet

I have a 240 vac 50 amp plug for a welder a previous owner had installed in my garage. I just checked the plug. I have 2 load lines a common wire and a ground wire. Is there any reason I could not replace that plug with a 50 amp RV out let? Right now if I just used the existing wiring the outlet would have to be at least 6 ft up on the side of the garage. I can put a box in and drop a wire down so the rv outlet would be lower Darn it, the wife just told me it is snowing again. I just shoveled the side walk. Heavy wet snow and it is 34 degrees.

RE: BAttery replacement.

I picked the fifthwheel up from the dealer today. They did some work in March and left the battery disconnect on. Well when they brought the camper out the batteries were completely dead. As in no power and not even a light would work. The dealer plugged the camper in and after about 1/2 hr there was enough power the landing gear would raise the camper up high enough I could hitch up. By the time I arrived home there was a 1/4 charge showing. That is the first time that I know of that the batteries were completely dead. We do boondock and have had the batteries get low before but never dead. They are maintenance free batteries. So I can't check water levels. I generally try to replace stuff like batteries and tires before they fail.

BAttery replacement.

How often do you replace the fifth-wheel dual batteries. This will be the fourth yr for out camper. In previous campers I was never able to get more that 2 yrs before I replaced the original dealer batteries. What is the go to battery for a fifth-wheel?

RE: Paperwork

I use to keep the campers paperwork in the camper and the trucks in the truck. I have just recently started keeping everything in the truck. I will need to straighten things out before the season starts though.

RE: Paperwork

It looked like the inspector had stopped a family. This was in a parking area and was done with a good video crew. One thing I did think was funny, the driver handed the paperwork to the trooper on a clip board. looked like a woman handed the driver the clipboard. We keep a record of dog shots with us when we travel.

I always have the registration and insurance card with me for the fifth wheel. What other paperwork do you carry with you, if any? I was watching you tube and a Indiana State trooper did a safety inspection and mentioned he needed a log book as well as a certificate of origin. I never heard of needing either of those. Also the wife and I are talking about heading out to Yellowstone this year. What fuel card is good along I90?
