RE: Trouble with California

Who the heck wants to go into the former golden state anyway? I left there in 2014 and have not looked back. Great place, but the crime, filth in cities, taxes, gas $ and restrictive govt. punished me to the point to move out and I’m sad about it. But to each his own.

RE: 225/70R19.5

Toyos. I paid $2600, 6 22’s on my f-53 Ford 22,000 chassis. Out the door. Happy, happy. And I do my homework. Good tires. Seems truckers like them for big rigs. Look for a local dealer

RE: Help finding fresh date Tires

I had mich. 22’s and just went to Toyos. Just a fraction diff n size, much less $ and rode as good as Mich. Date is close to manuf date. Heck, when I got my bus, the orig tires were already 6 months old. Hard to get close to manuf date, but my Toyo dealer did great. $2600, 6 tires, mount, balanced, and out the door. I went in w cash and negotiated, and got a deal $500 less than Michelin’s. I had my orig tires 6.5 years, started sidewall cracking and 22,000 miles. Cash is king. And again, look at Toyos. A pleasant surprise.

Rv systems warranty?

A friend just bought a 2018 , 6100 miles Berkshire diesel. He is looking at a warranty called. “Motorhome warranty- Repaircare”. Anyone have any pros-cons on this at $5900? I had a warranty on mine but dumped it less than a year in w/ rebate. 6years in for me, glad I did. No issues on my Bago gasser. Or is he better off “self funding”.? Or a better one out there?

RE: Run Flat on back dually

I’ve heard Toyos mentioned several times on different posts. I’m getting new (6) before trip in oct. Michelin’s because they are OE. Gettin them for $3100 out the door. Are Toyos, cheaper, better? My tires have 22k miles but are 6.5 years old w some slight tiny cracks.

RE: Ozark resort

If u haven’t left for Branson, then you can drive up to the office at state park and they will put you in. They have many open spots now. Ask for campground #2. All concrete sites. If u want that. Stagecoach rv is across the highway from that. That 6 mo is for online booking.

RE: Where to stay in St Louis?

Sundermeier in st Charles. Very nice. Close to old town st Charles. Of course if you want to do downtown St. Louis stuff, you’re about 30 +,- out, but a lot safer. I’d stay away from Illinois. You can do the arch, AB brewery maybe 1 other place in 1 day if you get there about 9-10am. There are other sites, but the drive from st Charles to downtown stl isn’t bad.

RE: Ozark resort

Ozark rv on table rock is “premier”. A little distant from Branson strip. TR state park, next to the marina, Branson belle, the dam, and 4 miles from Branson the best. Big sites, clean, cheap.

RE: Tires

Looking around, I’ve found Michelin is the only one so far that makes 235 80s 22.5. Wonder why that is and can I go with a 235 75r? I appreciate your comments. These things are expensive.

Tires

First go around on having to buy tires. I have a F53 22k chassis. Michelin 22.5. 235x80r. Any suggestions on any other good quality brands? Mine have 22k miles and are already showing cracks. But are 1113 on the manufacture date. 6+ years old. How about these online tires for rv,s. guys? I’m doing the local shops also. Thanks

RE: Nevada Hwy 50

Did it 5 years ago in a 2014 34’ Winnebago. Road isn’t smooth interstate, but very driveable. 2 lane, some roadside rest stops. Do it, worth the drive and it is lonely. Pony express sites along the way too. We stayed at an Ely koa. Was ok. Goin into Utah was beautiful. Our trip was Sacramento to Missouri.

RE: Selling a Class A Motorhome

All reply’s are good in addition, get someone in the know to “survey” the rig, to provide the condition papers. Negotiate any fee for selling, as some will take advantage of you by demanding 15-20%. A good total scrub for curb appeal. Try your local consignment lots first. Craigslist and the like are good, but you may get all kinds of scam artists. I got em and that was on a Harley. You’re on the right track with reputable sites you mentioned. Get an RV friend to assist.

RE: Buying out of state

If you buy in crazy Cal, but register elsewhere, you will take delivery out of (closet) state, then pay wherever you register. But, you may have to pay a “use tax”. Where you register. (To punish you for not buying in your own state.). In addition to reg. taxes.

F-53 tires

22k miles on a 2013 built 2014 Winnebago. 22k lb. chassis. Keep tires at 90psi (recommended) and service checks before long trips. Have seen comments that tires generally need replacement if years of service come before mileage. Mine appear good with inspection showing no/minor crack. What’s the norm/general replacement advice on these? I’ve had it since new. Now 6 years. Never towing or exceeding 65-70 mph. Advice please since thinking about replacement next year or two.

RE: Roadside

Lots of companies do this. Cable, satellite tv, phones, Sirius radio, credit cards. This is why many customers do the 1st yr, then cancel.....If they stay alert. When I get the new bill, if it’s a “we gotcha now” rate, I cancel. Look elsewhere. Free market, competition capitalism. =. Choices.

RE: Benefits of registration in SD

As I said, my choice was to register in sd because the sales tax was 3% vs 6.5% and no wealth tax. But, you have to be out of the “other” state 6months/more. Which I am, so that’s the catch. I do get some mail forwarded, but very minimal. If I need all mail forwarded, I could. I can get parts online, get my sd license and stay cheaply when there.

RE: St Louis to Branson

65 if going south, turn off at college of ozarks (Hollister) exit route 165. 5 miles to stagecoach. Nice 2 lane. Curvey but ok. Lots of rv’s because of state park and Stagecoach. Great area. Table rock lake access close. If coming from ark, take 65 to 265 to 165 to Stagecoach. (265 is about 2 miles north of the top of the rock/big cedar hwy 86 exit.

RE: Roadside

Ella, I’m a gs member since 13. I recieved the offer via email. Is it only for new members? I would want the 1 yr for $80.
