RE: 2006 Hurricane is this a great deal or a big headache

You’re right . . . They’re not junk . . . They’re Garbage Well, I guess Tiffins are junk too since they're now owned by Thor! I agree. Our 2003 Tiffin has been absolutely trouble free. With that said, I wouldn't buy a new one now that Thor bought them out.

RE: Indoor cat

We are in a motorhome. Our cat hides under the recliner/sofa when we are traveling and no doubt sleeping. When we park she hops up on the dash and will lay there for hours just watching what is going on outside. If you are in a trailer or camper I would suggest having some kind of shelf or area where your cat can lie down and look out a window. They seem to be very content doing that. We do put our cat on a harness and leash occasionally and take her for short walks, but she is usually happy just being able to look out the window.

RE: Cost to repair or replace half a windshield?

I've been quoted about $1200 to replace a right or left half windshield from 2 different companies. That's if no insurance is involved.

RE: Indio, CA or Yuma, AZ Casino parking

Went to Mexico last Wednesday and the Q was not allowing Overnight parking. There were a couple of rigs there but they were not in the dirt overnight parking area.

RE: Comparing 3 Class Bs

Bob Nestor wrote...Sigh, so here we go again with the pointless never-ending argument about what the RV Classes are and how salesmen, dealers and manufacturers are all "wrong" if they mis-identify their RVs as B's, C's, B+'s, C-'s, RUV's, Super-C's, etc because RVIA doesn't recognize those terms. Reminds me of the time I owned a Roadtrek 210 which was sold as a Class B and recognized by RVIA as a Class B. I pulled into a campground that didn't allow "van conversions" and the gal at the counter insisted my RV wasn't a Class B motorhome but was in fact a "van conversion". Didn't see anyone from RVIA show up and argue with her and her definition though, so I just left for another campground. RVIA Classes are nothing more than general guidelines which may or may not apply to any specific model of RV produced. I'm still trying to figure out what class my 24' Dynamax is in my signature. It is all one piece body and about 7' wide. Wider than a van but not as wide as a class C. I was told that Dynamax marketed it as a Class A, but who knows?

RE: TR: Utah, parks, friends and a few weeks with my wife

I'm guessing you live in WA...haha. Awesome vacation. We have been to several of the places you traveled and enjoyed them too. We agreed that Moab, Zion, and Jackson have gotten too crowded for us. We would have loved being at the Salt Flats during Speed week. You really lucked out on that! Thanks for the great pics!

RE: Reservations in California

About a month ago we made reservations for late April at CA state parks. One is at Refugio beach near Santa Barbara, and the other at Pismo Beach. They accepted my reservations and took my money. Haven't heard anything about them being cancelled, so far. Refugio Park had room for your 40' RV???? They told me if I could fit in a site and not block any part of the road then they were okay with it. Since we have been there several times before I knew which sites we could fit in and not be near the edge of the pavement.

RE: Anybody in Quartzsite?

Just drove through Quartzsite this afternoon. It's changed a lot since we were here a couple weeks ago. BLM land north and south of town probably has a combined total of 500 rigs. Things are picking up in town too.

RE: Anybody in Quartzsite?

We were there about a week ago and Plamosa Rd had a lot of rigs scattered around that area. Several vendors had open air displays open for customers but nothing like it will be during the RV show. We will be back during the show dates.

RE: Class A creature comforts at FHU stays

I would recommend a floor plan that has the TV across from the couch/recliners. Not one that has the TV at the top of the windshield where your neck would be cranked to the side.

RE: Roof type - leaks

Both of the motorhomes in my signature have metal roofs. Had rubber roofs in previous motorhomes and much prefer having metal roofs for ease of maintenance. The 1st thing I did when I purchased each one was to apply 4" wide Eternabond tape around the entire perimeter of the roof seams where the roof meets the sides and seams on the front and rear caps. I also apply Eternabond tape around all roof vents, skylights, antennae mounts, ladder, etc. Been using Eternabond on 8 different motorhomes for 20 years and never had a leak after applying this tape.
