New Transit Chassis

Ford is releasing a new Transit Chassis for 2020 with new drivetrains and an increase in GVWR to 11,020. This compares with the 11,030 of the Sprinter chassis. Will the Sprinter RV’s migrate to Ford. With this change and Ford’s release of a new F53 Chassis, it looks like Ford is going all out for the RV market. Maybe a new E450 chassis is forthcoming. https://news.yahoo.com/2020-ford-transit-van-brings-212800302.html

RE: LP Regulator

It is a Marshall horizontal 2 stage regulator. Cover for adjustment screw makes sense. Thanks

LP Regulator

I am replacing the Propane regulator on the motor home and have one question. The new regulator has in and out ports that seem easy to install but the regulator also has a plastic plug above the vent. What is this plastic part ?

RE: Girard tankless water heater problem

Thanks for the suggestion but this generation WH doesn’t have the reset button. Called Girard and they stated that I have an LP problem. Will check this problem.

Girard tankless water heater problem

We have the 3rd generation Girard tankless water heater and the burner lights but goes out in a few seconds. The heater shows E2 fault on the control panel. Trouble shooting from the manual lists many possible causes. Has anyone had this problem and what was the solution. Thanks

RE: Winnebago Navion/View vs. Leisure Travel Van

When comparing models, make sure you look at tank capacity for fresh water and grey, black water. When boon docking, these are critical.

RE: Dish tv

You say you changed the switches on the receiver. I hope you meant the dip switches on the T4 satellite. After changing the switches on the T4 satellite, you need to run a check switch on the dish receiver.

iPhone to Tv

I want to watch Netflix on my tv while camping. I have an unlimited data plan with ATT for my phone but it limits hotspot data to 15G. If I hook my phone up to my tv via an hdmi adapter and watch Netflix, will this count as hotspot usage or as part of my unlimited data. If using the hdmi adapter counts against my hotspot, can I buy Apple TV and mirror my phone to the tv and avoid hotspot usage data limits. Thanks for anyone using ATT who has done this.

RE: Direct Tv Problem

Bill, Thanks again. I hooked both receivers up and hide hd channels on both. Hr5400 was set on sl3 and h24 was set on 18” Dish. I also did not power them up at the same time. Everything worked great. We can view different Channels on both televisions and record and view recordings on both televisions. Although everything is sd , we are so happy with this configuration and hope Directv changes to hd on 101 next year. By the way, it was fairly easy to do this conversion.

RE: Direct Tv Problem

Thanks Bill, Yes I am using the Power Inserter included with the kit. Will now try it in the sl3 setting.

RE: Direct Tv Problem

2oldman I know it is only SD but the purpose of swm8 was to be able to use my home receiver. I installed the swm8 kit in accordance with the Winegard manual.

Direct Tv Problem

I completed the swm 8 installation on my Winegard T4 dome diish. I have my hr5400 receiver hooked to the Power Inserter and the Power Inserter connected to the swm1 position. I have my h24 receiver connected to the swm2 postion. I turned everything on and set the h24 receiver to 18” round and swm and it worked fine and received all channels and accessed my recordings on the hr5400. However when I tried to set the hr5400 receiver to 18” round, it wouldn’t allow me to do this. It only gave me a choice of 3lnb or 5lnb. Has anyone had this problem and how did you correct it. I believe my swm8 installation is correct and if I can set the hr5400 receiver correctly, my problem will be solved. Thanks

Direct tv remote

I have a hr5400 receiver at home that I want to take to the rv but sometimes forget the remote. Can I buy another remote and program it to the receiver and leave it in the rv or will it disable my home tv remote. Thanks

RE: Direct TV question

Thanks to everyone for info especially Bill. This upgrade will allow me to use two receivers and get me ready for HD on 101 if Directv makes a change.

RE: Direct TV question

Bill, Thanks for that info. If I am understanding you, I do the following: 1. Disconnect the two coax leads from the dome that are now connected to my br and lr receivers. Then connect these leads to the swm8. 2. Connect the lr coax to swm8 in swm1 position and connect Power Inserter to this lead. 3. Connect lr receiver to Power Inserter 4. Connect br coax to swm2 position and and receiver to this lead Is this correct. With this setup what changes in the satellite settings will I have to make when I take these receivers from my home and place in the rv. Thanks

RE: Direct TV question

I use the h24 now in the rv without swm. The object is to be able to use two receivers at the same time to watch different shows without adding another H24 receiver. My remotes are already rf. The swm8 kit came with a splitter to comply. With the Winegard swm wiring diagram. Any other ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
