RE: Onan 7500 Quiet Diesel shutting down after 5 minutes

Seems like it pulled a code that offered no diagnosis except to take it to in for service. What was the code?

RE: Vehicle Size Issues at Border Crossings

Does anyone worry about height of the lanes at Lukeville. Last time I went thru I was in a car I noticed that my camper is taller than the lane. I'm going thru into the US in March and would like some feedback. Thanks The Lukeville height signs are wrong. I've seen all sizes of RV's go through and don't see any scratches on the overhead. The sides are a different story, there are lots of scratches on those poles. Go slow, very slow to avoid rocking. Remember, no one cares how slow you go or how long it takes. If you damage your RV it's not because you were rushed through by anyone. If your mirrors are spread out more than 9 or 10 feet you need to have the tools to bring them in.

RE: Entry door pin pad won’t work

You didn't say who the manufacturer is. Mine is Trimark, I usually unplug the power from the module in the dash but a couple of times I had to unplug the keyboard which is in my passenger side console.

RE: 50 amp cheater box

I use it quite a bit with two 30A plugs. As stated the 20A plugs are normally GFI which don't work but if you find a non GFI 20A it would work. ALWAYS test with a meter, If you read 240 VAC across the 50A plug and 120 VAC on each side to neutral and ground it should work. If it doesn't do not use it!

RE: Vehicle Size Issues at Border Crossings

Exiting Lukeville into the USA is a very tight turn for large campers. I can make it through but I am patient and take my time. I have friends that have done quite a bit of damage to their coaches there. A couple of months ago a friend with a 45' 5th wheel followed us and was unable to make the turn. CBP moved some barriers and allowed him to bypass that turn. If you go through secondary inspection it is even more difficult. Once again, patience is your friend, no one cares how long it takes you but they will think you are crazy to rush and do damage.

RE: TSD Diesel Fuel Discount Program

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. There is a gimmick here, I assure you. Most independent truckers are using a card similar to this and looking for the best deal as fuel is their #1 expense. There are many cards out there just not many that are interested in the RV industry with our small usage. It is good to have one that is interested! Comparing price is elusive, I get an additional 5% discount using my credit card so comparing TSD to gas buddy pricing isn't accurate. I haven't used name brand truck stops since they consolidated and raised their price to gouge small users. I can fit into most fuel stations and I'm 45' dragging a pickup truck. So what if the flow rate is slow, I'm retired and don't care. :B

RE: (update bought Hankook tires)

Carlisle has some USA mfg tires that hold up OK. There was a phase 10 or 15 years ago they were blowing all the time. Discount tire replaced 12 of them for me one year.

RE: Duracell 6 volt batteries

Batteries Plus usually has a deal that if you order online and pick up in store you save 10 per cent. Same batteries as Duracell at Sam's Club but may be labeled a little different. They also sell the larger capacity 6 volt batteries like Sams offers but at a lower price, around $120

RE: Length restricted rv parks

How many rv parks that anyone has run across do not allow anything any bigger than 40’? Thx A lot! It is humorous for me to see folks with short campers answering the question and say they have not seen that problem. Also, the longer you are the more difficult to level on a slope. Were those parks regular commercial RV parks with full hookups or were they government campgrounds? I know lot's of government campgrounds limit size but I've never seen commercial RV parks that limit the size. Once we exceeded 40' there have been a lot of commercial parks we don't fit into. The newer boring parks have room but the older fun parks are limited. That is also true of electrical service available.

RE: Towing a 2019 Rubicon Jeep

Any different than towing the 07 Wrangler ? book says, Transfer case in N, Transmittion in Park. All wheels up or down, no dollies. The brake master cylinder may be different so it depends on the braking system chosen, the old M&G system may not work.

RE: Monaco

Been looking at at signiture can i still get parts an get it worked on. I have a mountain air now 2011. Sig is a 2008 model Generally speaking, yes most parts are available. I think the Multiplex chassis system in the front run bay Ivylog mentions depends on when the '08 was manufactured. I THINK the early ones have the same boards as the '07. If it has about 17 boards it is the earlier system and one board is the later system.

RE: Parking at Walmart

Why not park overnight at a local campground? One thing that surprises us is how often we find ourselves in an area with no camping facilities nearby or availability. None of the campground apps are complete which leaves many camping facilities empty, no one knows about them for some reason. Try to find the downtown Lynchburg, TN camp in Allstays, Good Sam or RV Parkey. Five 50 Amp with water and one of those has sewer in downtown Lynchburg at Wiseman Park. That is just one example of many.

RE: "303" Survey

Both MHs were stored outside - his in Las Vegas and ours in St Louis. Mine was parked next to my house with one side facing due south. I have to believe the huge difference in the way our two MHs looked had to due with what was used on them. Comparing Las Vegas sun and heat damage to St Louis sun and heat damage? There is no comparison regardless of any product you use, Las Vegas will always have more damage.

RE: Tecma Toilet

As for my Tecma's woes, it was all working fine again, this morning. Go figure and now, I just know when it might fail again....grrrrr! Can't blame this phenomenon on anything except tropical heat, while it was sitting in a shop's lot over the weekend. I saved my intermittent controller just in case I have another failure, it may work in a pinch. I have two Techma's.

RE: Tecma Toilet

Yep, that's the touch pad, I have. However my toilet is the Tecma Easy Fit, not the Silence Plus. So you're saying that the control box is not the flush pad and is located under the toilet? Correct, the toilet is bolted down, be careful when you screw it in after the repair as the porcelain is easily broken. I was able to pull the toilet away from the wall and replace that module without disconnecting any hoses, it was an easy job. The link was the first I came across so the parts on yours may be different. Call

RE: Tecma Toilet

One of mine was intermittent, changed the control box which fixed it. Had to pull the toilet off the floor but didn't have to disconnect the hose. I have not heard of the switch panel going bad although possible. Do you have the two button panel with the tank level light? Techma parts My bad control was like the 38646 part.
