Spring suspension issues

Bought the 09 34foot Cedar fifth 5 years ago. Upgraded the 4 leaf springs to new 5 leaf. Considering doing it again and going to 6 leaf which would be rated at 3500 pounds. Or will this give to stiff a ride? They have flattened out some. I’m also thinking of cutting off the front and rear hangers and re-weld them on in order to spread the axels about 3 inches. The tires are only about 1.5 inches apart. I Once had tires that started to expand in diameter when they warmed up and began to touch. Replaced them of course but I’m not happy with how close they are together.

RE: How to prevent Keirig from freezing??

Wa8 Don’t worry about us filling landfills with cups. I cut them open, shake out and compost the grounds. Then because there is a tiny amount of oil in each cup I use them to help start the fires in the wood stove we heat our house with. I love to watch the black smoke going skyward and the spreading out all over the country side from witch the product originally came from. Although if I run out of Kcups I burn railway ties and they really pour out the black smoke!! I’d advise to only burn those at night so your neighbors don’t see the black smoke. But it sure does through the heat when it’s -40 degrees out side.

RE: How to prevent Keirig from freezing??

We had one freeze and break even though we were sure it was drained.

How to prevent Keirig from freezing??

It has been suggested that we run some whisky through it. Is there a better way other than keeping it in the truck/motels for 3 day?

RE: Antifreeze in transmission 2010 Duramax??

Thanks ZR1 If my memory serves me correctly some older other GM vehicle I had a mechanic recommended disconnecting the Tran cooler lines at the radiator because of this kind of risk and we connected the oil lines to an aftermarket cooler installed in front of the rad. Is this the right thing to do with this truck?

Antifreeze in transmission 2010 Duramax??

What’s going on here. How does this happen? And has it ruined my transmission?

RE: Amps/voltage to trailer brakes

Next time I hook up I will check amperage. Thanks all.

RE: Amps/voltage to trailer brakes

In original post I mentioned I “clean” the brakes. I think I know what I’m doing. Packed hundreds of wheel bearings over the years and have installed many a brake set. Our truck is an 16 Ram. Has the “integrated” controller. And yes to “clean” them...they get inspected.

Amps/voltage to trailer brakes

We have several fifth wheel trailers. Brakes work very well on all but the 12000 lb. Cedar Creek. I have manually adjusted them. Cleaned them. There is current to each and there is breaking to each wheel. But at the highest setting it feels far from adequate. Is it a possibility that the trailer brake wire is to light a gauge to deliver the proper level of current? Or is the weight of the trailer so much more than the other trailers it just feels poor. On the other trailers the brakes will cause the tires to stand if pulled full. But the RV certainly will not.

Toilet burping

2009 34 TSA Cedar Creek. From toilet, plumbing goes at angle to tank. The tank has been drained yet it still burps?? Vent plugged?? Mound in tank?? The flushing system. How does it work? Is there more than 1 jet to help flush? Thinking I need a scope/camera to snake into there and have a look.

RE: Fridge not cooling

Yes ok. On 110 it does not cool. But there is power at the plug. The tiny blue flame was burning from 8 pm till 8 am this morning. Top of chimney was hot to the touch but the fridge did not cool. Well perhaps slightly. Temp was 60F. I shut off the propane dial and turned on the ac. With in 3 hours temp went up 15 degrees.

RE: Fridge not cooling

Thanks for the manual. It does not have electronic ignition so is it not the pilot that I see. And it would burn all the time? What do you mean by “AC”?

Fridge not cooling

Well slight cooling. Kids bought an 04 Rockwood tent trailer. It has a small 3 way Dometic fridge mod number RM 4223. Product # 00921130220. Serial 24300093 Type C40/110 We got the pilot lite working but it will not lite fully.
