RE: wisconsin dells? or somewhere similar

thanks for all the replies! Also the info on santa clause indiana! Any more info on the Dells keep it coming. I am suprised it would be in the 90's there with high humidity! I would think that would be far enough north for decent summer weather.

wisconsin dells? or somewhere similar

Live in Ohio, and looking for somewhere little different this year for summer vacation (end of july for a week). Been to Michigan the last several years, love it there, just want to take a break. Is the Wisconsin Dells good for kids? 5 and 2 years old? Seems summer temperatures wouldn't be too hot there, similar to Michigan. Which is the best campground there for entertainment with kids etc? Also open to any near other nearby vacation destinations. Looking to stay within 8 hours of Cincinnati, Ohio. Thanks in advance!

RE: Southern destination w kids week of New years? Where to go?

Myrtle Beach area sure would be an easier tow. Are shops, putt putt, typical entertainment type stuff open all winter there? Ladyrver- St Augustine sounds nice. lots of typical tourist type stuff going on there all winter long?

Ken56- thanks for the ideas! My kids can be easily entertained if I can find a real nice park, just trying to find that nice park in a real nice city. Thanks!

Southern destination w kids week of New years? Where to go?

Hello, I am looking for a southern destination to bring my travel trailer down during the week of New Years. Last year we stayed in Orlando, weather was awesome (low 80's), lots to do with kids (obviously w/ Disney), but this year was hoping to explore another great southern destination. Coming all the way from Cincinnati, Ohio, and only have a total of 10 days, so wouldn't want to travel any further South than Orlando. Was interested in Myrtle Beach Oceanfront campground? Or is that a complete Ghost town during early January? Interested in any other Florida destination or Carolina's, Louisiana destination that can help us escape the Northern Cold for a week. Also, is South Carolina, and North/Middle Florida a must to get reservations in advance for this time of year? Or can we wing it, and move around as we please? Was maybe thinking the snowbird crowds stay more south?

Northern Michigan advice

I am leaving for Northern Michigan, this week. We have never ventured that far north in Michigan before, and cant wait! In the past always stayed in Ludington which was beautiful. This time we are staying in Cheboygan, to be close to a friends cabin up there. Any "must see or do" type things on the north end? Traveling with kids, but they are pretty easy going, so doesn't have to be kids type entertainment. We are huge fan of small local mom and pop type places, and restaurants. Thanks in advance!

Temp monitor for when leaving dogs in RV

I know this topic has been touched on before, but is there any good devices out there that will monitor rv inside temps while dogs are left alone while we are out for the day? I always worry the campground will blow a fuse or lose power while we are out, and dogs get cooked up. Looking for something that would notify my phone in the case of power loss. I used to use "connectsense", buts its outdated and no longer works. Thanks!

RE: 2014 Atwood Helium fridge not working. Freezer works though?

2014 Atwood Helium fridge not working. Freezer works though?

I am sure this topic may have been brought up before, but I have a 2014 Atwood Helium Fridge. Freezer working perfect, but fridge working very little no none at all. Yes its level, yes I have given it plenty of time to charge. I looked over the back side and nothing seems out of place, or any creature nests etc. Before I take it to the local dealer, any ideas on an easy fix? Thanks in advance!!

Terrible condensation/mold? What to use to prevent

So, I have a 2014 Keystone Hideout travel trailer. Bought brand new, was tired of used leaky trailers. I have kept inside my pole barn since day one, so never ever leaked a drop of water. This winter, I never messed with it much, or really even went in to check on it. Just knew it was winterized, inside, and good to go. WELL, not so much. I left a few windows partially opened, and it appears I suffered from interior condensation and now surface mold in spots from over winter storage. More than just a tad bit, so really makes me mad!! How do I control this from happening again? Rid-ex stuff? I really hate the idea to plug in a dehumidifier all winter long. Ironically the mold attached to random things like baby pack and play, skillet, and other random things that I threw out. I will be scrubbing everything else top to bottom this weekend. Thanks in advance!

RE: "Service trailer brake system" on 2016 GMC

Not that anyone cares lol, but I figured I would update this post incase someone searches this in the future. I ended up trying out the cheapest and easiest part to replace, bascially throwing parts at it, and bam it worked. My factory trailer brake controller was the problem. I had one sent via Amazon, $43 later changed it out and works like new. No more stupid computer telling me to service trailer brake system. I love my GMC's, but kinda crazy the factory brake controller went bad on a 3 year old truck with 57k miles. O well, could be worse

RE: "Service trailer brake system" on 2016 GMC

Like2build- wish it was, just this year GMC was 3 years 36000 miles, which is kinda a joke.
