RE: Lithium crossing the acceptance threshold…

Absolutely ridiculous, and to what end??…How many times in the past have discussions like this very one been the absolute norm??… Many times..So solar/solar chargers and battery issues are campfire talk now?

RE: Do you know what brand/model this bed camper is?

Those were quite common back in the day..Some of the local manufacturers like Security industries and Kit campers were ones we had...Easy to make an overnighter out of...

RE: LFP/LiFePO battery asleep?

Let us know what the problem was.... I accidentally shorted my stand alone 100ah lfp battery..It was dead with no power at all..I thought this was an expensive mistake...lol..But I hooked my Noco genius 10 amp charger to it and it popped right back on like nothing had happened..The BMS must have saved me and the Noco charger woke it up..

RE: Somewhat wacko battery/solar question

Can the Renogy 30A PWM charger charge both the AGM batteries and LiFe battery at the same time? I have a Renogy 30A PWM connected to a single 100AH LFP with aligator clips so I can charge whatever battery or bank I want..I use this particular battery for coffee maker/microwave and hot plate and kept close to fully charged,it does the job..If I need more charging of something else.I just use the aligator clips on that battery bank...Weird maybe to some, but it works for me.. So,yes you can use that controller on two different battery banks independently, but not at the same time with alligator clips or by just changing which batteries are connected to the Renogy. Good luck..

RE: Purchasing a Jackery or something similar....need help....

Everyone is worried about the price of the larger power stations yet... Why would you buy a Battleborn battery(cylindrical cells) for just under $1000 when you can buy almost three Ampertime(Eve cells) Zooms/redodo(Ganfeng cells or even Enjoybot(Gotion cells) for the same price? Again..To each his own..LOL

RE: Purchasing a Jackery or something similar....need help....

For my use, they work just dandy. Your use is not a blanket recommendation. For example I wish to run my roof air. Doing that is possible with these devices--but ridiculously expensive. As is using any battery to run roof air..I have both, power stations and lifepo4 batteries with solar...Both have there place..The installed lifepo4 are not portable, the power stations are which can serve many more situations... If not bought on specials, they are expensive for the large ones but so are Battleborn batteries without the inverter etc... To reach his own for his intended purpose..

RE: Purchasing a Jackery or something similar....need help....

Ok, got more specifics from my husband....."Can the Jackery charge my house batteries which in turn will run my refrig, TV and coffee maker. We are planning to get a Jackery 1000 and another 100 watt portable solar panel. Is that enough or do we need more solar panels? Thanks Yes it will if you can turn off the house converter charger..I have plugged my cord into my power station but I can't turn off the charger section of the converter so it charges my house battery which is very wasteful..But you can! Power stations have there place for some..I personally would never spend over $500 for one tho..Jackeries do not use LFP batteries making them short term like lead acid batteries..Bluetti on the other hand uses LFP batteries with cylindrical cells just like Batteleborn in some of there units,(3500 cycles) making them 10 plus years in longevity versus 3-5 maybe on others without LFP batteries. I have a couple power stations I use in my TC or in the house..They are very handy for power outages in the house or anywhere in the TC I need power..If you shop and watch you can get these power stations really cheap..My LFP 700 Watt hour cost me $399 and has a 700 watt PSW inverter/regulated 12v outlets and came with the wall charger and all the cables...You would be hard pressed to build the same for that,I have tried..LOL Good luck to the op and just ignore the nay sayers that have never owned one..For my use, they work just dandy.

Battleborn 230ah(3456wh) bare battery......$2375 Bluetti B300 3072wh(240ah) with outlets.....$1999 Battleborn is more expensive here..

RE: no noise generators

So describe what a solar generator capable of similar performance would look like. HUGE...LOL.. I here 'Ya...If a guy was smart he would buy a Wen 2K inverter generator on Amazon for $342 and be done with it but the op ask about quiet,no noise at all,alternatives..

RE: no noise generators

Just wondering if this is a possible solution to running a generator, it may not run the A/C very long but up here we can get by without that and the microwave, and run the fridge on propane, just need the lights and electronics pumps, fans and maybe some music for a 3 day weekend. perhaps the tv for a movie on a rainy day. if you have one let me know how it works for you. On subject and not joking around..LOL I have a Bluetti eb70 that would do just that..700 watt hours or like 55 amp hours..It has a wireless charger for cell phones and a couple USB ports plus a 12v regulated cigarette lighter socket and two 110V electrical sockets for up to 700 watts.. I use this all the time for TV/DVD/lights and fans..The wireless charger for my phone is very handy..Lifepo4 cylindrical cells for power, same type as Battleborn batteries.. It works great

RE: no noise generators

Regardless of the thread title, how big will the solar/battery system have to be to match a 2000w generator putting out 1500w continuously for 23 hrs out of a 24 hr day? A 2k gas generator will only run so long on a tank of gas and they differ in run time..A 2K solar generator also will only run so long on a full battery..Both run times depend on the load/both have to be refueled/charged to run 23 hours..Extended gas tank or extra batteries will run longer.. They both have 2K inverters.. I see no difference in power output, just how there refueled.. 2k Honda inverter gen and Igen 2200 here plus the solar stuff..JMHO

RE: no noise generators

Remember your post title…power stations don’t “generate” anything. It’s a trick marketing word. Boy am I glad someone said this ! A gas generator needs gas and oil to produce electricity! A solar generator needs sun or electricity to recharge it's battery to produce electricity! They both produce clean electricity! Neither will work without gas/oil or solar/electricity. They both achieve the same goal, producing electricity.. One makes noise the other is silent. So a solar generator achieves the same outcome as a gas generator. LOL

RE: no noise generators

I don't think everyone understands how much it cost to build your own with everything included in these power stations..I have built a couple playing around and have one right now built to be portable like a power station... Smart battery box with all the goodies(outlets)..Napa $50 100ah LFP battery with ganfeng cells(Zooms)...........$310 600 watt PSW inverter(Giandel)........................$100 Cheap PWM Renogy controller...........................$30 That's right at $500 for a 600 watt power station..Add a 1K PSW inverter and an MPPT controller and it goes up almost $200.. It's not cheap to clone a power station..

RE: no noise generators

Everyone saying how over priced they are should chime in with there actual cost for there system that they use....There not cheap to do it right.. LolHow many solar generators would it take to match 675w solar and 1000 Ah? 12,800 watt hours devided by whatever the power station is rated for..lol..Solar wise, whatever the max input or said power station is... Did I pass the quiz..:B

RE: no noise generators

he first link was to a $7400 CAD (~$5700 USD) unit that doesn't have solar panels included (nor there installation which is the biggest part of the install cost). I couldn't agree more on the large power stations..I'm surprised they sell as many as they do...Just saying any solar setup is expensive..Quality inverters like Samlex can run around $800 and larger mppt controllers are not cheap either..And it goes on and on.. I'm into way more than I planned and it just keeps getting worse..lol

Lol You get a 600 watt solar system for approx $600 US. Add in $400 for batteries. That works out to $1000 For one battery? Then there is the controller/inverter/wiring etc...No free lunch doing it yourself..

RE: Portable Solar Generators

But to use to "expand" your RVs battery system, it isn't a good choice due to them being much more expensive than just buying additional batteries per Ahr and as I pointed out. I agree 100%.. There idle draw is out of this world and for lower wattage use also..I see the people read the reviews and complaints and they still buy them..Unbelievable..

RE: Portable Solar Generators

Your right and I have..I also use the power station to run one or both of my compressor fridge freezers when we travel in the car or van plus in the house on occasion..Last power outage it ran my 50 inch tv and the internet router all day.... Like was said earlier, there not for everyone but some find them usefull like myself....If you shop and watch, they can be found really cheap...Saw a 1500wh Bluetti with a 1000 watt inverter for $368 for a very short time but I bought a 100ah lifepo4 instead..lol

RE: Portable Solar Generators

The average RVer already has a sizeable battery bank in his RV, along with several different ways of recharging it. Why would he/she not want to use it? An example would be...My TC came with one group 24 wet battery/one 12v plugin and no usb ports..Not much usable power there..These little power stations provide 12v ports/5v usb ports/wireless charging on top for cell phones and a camplight plus a PSW inverter..Quite handy to move around as needed to the bunk or wherever..I since have added lots of batteries and solar but I still use the little power station just because it is handy to move around as needed.. Evreyone has different needs and all RV's are not the same equipped.I also bring it in the house when the power goes out for Cpaps etc..
