RE: What does tire date code '5317' mean?

The 53 is because December 31, 2017 was on a Sunday, therefore entering a 53rd week. Code numbers for the month range from 01-53 for that reason. You just made that up??? :B No. Actually Pope Gregory XIII introduced the calendar in the 1500s. I wasn't born until the 1950s.

RE: Fridge on propane while driving

You are most likely going to get mixed opinions here, as well. I would consult your owners manual or contact the manufacturer. My opinion, which should not be worth dirt to you, is to go ahead and run it on propane while traveling. I don't do that, though. My fridge stays cold and my freezer stays frozen from one campsite to the next without running it on anything. It is well insulated.

RE: Google maps iPad mini vs. iPhone

Just curious... Why can't you get WiFi on your iphone?

RE: Sorta 'Survey' - IKEA RV Stuff

IKEA is a huge store full of household goods from Sweden. They sell a lot of stuff at fairly low prices. You wander around looking at everything like an adventure. I took my son there to get a couch/bed combo for his first apartment. As you walk around, you end up throwing things like $5 lamps in your cart. They have a restaurant hidden somewhere in the middle of the Austin store. I have not been to it, but friends seem to like it. I have not been to the new San Antonio store. Unlike Buccee's, Cabella's, or Bass Pro, there isn't enough there to keep me coming back. But, if you need something they have, it is a good place to get it.

RE: Sorta 'Survey' - IKEA RV Stuff

I bought a $2 squeegee for the shower, three $1 dish towels for the galley, and a $3 plastic serving tray that I use to set my drink and popcorn on when I am lounging on the bed watching movies before going to bed. The squeegee does a great job of drying off the shower. The dish towels are super absorbent and do a great job of drying the dishes. The serving tray provides a great surface for my drink. As a bonus, the one time I knocked over my glass of Merlot, all of the wine was trapped on the tray. I poured it in the sink and rinsed off the tray without ruining the comforter on my bed. Personally, I find IKEA to be a fun place to find cheap little things like lamps, shelves, etc. It is a great place for outfitting a dorm room or first apartment. Not the kind of stuff I would want to put in my home.

RE: Ward Charcoal Ovens State Park

Just re-read your post. Sorry... you weren't asking about hookups. I did keep researching and found a review of the park on YELP in which someone says, "They have vault toilets, but they are clean." Kept going and found this, "CAMPING Willow Creek Campground is a 14-site campground with two large pull-through sites, one handicapped designated site and two vault type restrooms centrally located. Potable drinking water is available May through September from one hydrant located near the campground entrance." It was on this web page: https://www.stateparks.com/ward_charcoal_ovens_state_park_in_nevada.html

RE: Ward Charcoal Ovens State Park

On the Nevada State Parks website, it says this: Which parks provide hook-ups? Hook-ups are available at Cathedral Gorge, Valley of Fire, Echo Canyon and Big Bend of the Colorado State Parks. Plans are to also install hook-ups at Washoe Lake, Spring Valley, South Fork, Kershaw-Ryan, and Ward Charcoal Ovens. There is a webpage for the park http://parks.nv.gov/parks/ward-charcoal-ovensHERE.

RE: Our new Freedom Express 192 RBS

A very practical choice! :) You might find some useful ideas here. Thanks for sharing that again. I get amazed at all the wonders you have done to your camper. I always plan to copy some of them, but I guess I'm just too lazy. I really need those doors under the bed!

RE: Our new Freedom Express 192 RBS

Congratulations on your new camper. I have had my FE 192 RBS for going on 3 years. I really love it. For me, it has all the bells and whistles packed into a great size.

RE: Outdoor Shower Door Jammed

You know folks, when you are dumb as mud, as I am, there are times when you have to just stand up and admit it. Yes... I am dumb as mud. All that lock on the outdoor shower needed was a little lubrication to open right up, just like prichardson and IB853347201 suggested. I could have tried that the day I had the problem. But, oh no... I had to post it here like a helpless piece of fluff from under the bed and prove to the world how dumb I am. I apologize profusely for that. However, at the same time, I am really grateful for all of you camping buddies that responded with such great advice and support.

RE: Outdoor Shower Door Jammed

Sure you have the right key?? When you put the key in, will it rotate the cylinder at all?? It is definitely the right key. It goes in but will not turn at all.

RE: Outdoor Shower Door Jammed

Try pushing on the door beside the lock while turning the key. Tried that. Also tried pulling the door forward a bit with a screwdriver. Neither worked.

RE: Outdoor Shower Door Jammed

Can you get to the back side of it in some cabinet? You could jiggle the hose and perhaps manipulate it out of the way. I'll have to check on that. There might be access from under the bathroom sink. Thanks for the suggestion.

Outdoor Shower Door Jammed

Tried to open the outdoor shower door last week when camping, but the key won't turn at all. I'm assuming that the shower head is in the way of the lock mechanism or something like that. I didn't want to force it, because, if the key broke, I wouldn't have been able to open up my storage compartments. I haven't opened it since I winterized earlier. Anyway, if you have experienced this, what did you do to solve the problem?
