RE: US entry from Mexico

Is it quarantine or self-isolation? Two weeks at Trenton or two weeks at home? That's BC only at the moment isn't it?

RE: Coronavirus practical issues

Mark is correct that we really don't have good numbers because testing has been deficient and it's still early in the course of this outbreak.Yeah, we have really good numbers. The rest of the world has been testing like crazy and I have no reason to doubt their numbers.

RE: CoronaVirus and Mexico

All US knows how to do now is to slowly close borders.Very very late to the 'party' and border closures won't help. Until we start testing we don't know where we are except that it's already here.

RE: Anyone canceling trips due to Corona virus?

Stop watching CNN.What should we be watching?CNN is one of the news channels we watch but I'm a bit peeved at them for starting to call this a 'pandemic'. It just isn't, yet.

RE: Anyone canceling trips due to Corona virus?

Hence the inflated 3.4% death rate. As this goes on and testing becomes more available, that death rate will drop drastically. The 3.4% is a worldwide number where testing has been much more aggressive than here. The death rate here will probably stay higher than that because testing here is so poor.

RE: Help Me Understand

I have a 2011 Silverado with a Duramax. It starts at 12V and quickly (20 seconds) rises to 14V where it stays no matter what is going on. Original batteries. My Harley OTOH would start at 12 and go to 17 and higher as revs went up. It was a fried voltage regulator. Replaced it and the battery as it was probably damaged from over-charging.

RE: Anyone canceling trips due to Corona virus?

If the market doesn't turnaround pretty soon, I might be too poor to travel.Amen to that.

RE: Anyone canceling trips due to Corona virus?

Why do you think you are going to get it? there are over 334 million people in the US. What makes you so sure that you will be part of the .0001 percent that will get it???? And over 80% of the ones that do get it recover with out any medical treatment. Man don't panic. Stop watching CNN. live your life. You are in no more danger than you were in DecemberThere are already more than .0001 percent that have it (do the math). What's reported in the US is way UNDER-reported. This thing has been in the wild for weeks while the ostriches still had their heads stuck in the sand. When exposure goes to 50% and 3.4% of those will die, will that get your attention? Having said that, I'm living my life (but I'm staying away from large crowds and washing my hands a lot more).

RE: Foot pedal spring, Thetford Aqua Magic 2

Did you get this sorted out? My toilet doesn't always 'close' completely - it's like the spring is weak. We've been sliding our feet off the pedal when depressed so it snaps fully closed. I was wondering if a new ball and gasket would fix the problem or is it something deeper?

RE: Snowbird parks and Coronavirus

The thing that scares me, is that people are contagious, before they feel ill (and presumably sequester themselves); and since 80% of the cases don't require medical treatment, there could be a LOT of people out there spreading germs who aren't on the "radar". Wash your hands. The thing that scares me is that the "just the flu" people will NOT sequester themselves. They will spread COVID-19 to others, 20% of whom will require hospitalization and about 3.4% will die.

RE: Snowbird parks and Coronavirus

The park did send out an information bulletin but no events cancelled yet. I'm avoiding Main Street during Bike Week because you're in very close contact with other filthy bikers. Washing my hands a lot whenever I go out.

RE: Preparing for isolation to avoid contact with Corona virus

As was mentioned earlier, those percentages are expected to be more in line with the regular fluI won't continue to argue with you about mortality rates. However, I'm curious as to the information source of your assertion. None of the sources I've been monitoring support your position.

RE: Preparing for isolation to avoid contact with Corona virus

If you want "unspun" information about COVID-19 look here: World Health Organization and WASH YOUR HANDS! WHO has been doing an absolutely horrible job.The CDC is very late to the "party" because it can't happen here and it's a hoax. They're playing catch-up. WHO is the only place to get accurate information. For fj12rider: COVID-19 mortality rate is running over 2% compared to .1% for seasonal flu.

RE: Preparing for isolation to avoid contact with Corona virus

You know, I kind of resent that. It's not a panic but when people like you don't take it seriously, the spread of COVID-19 will be worse and there is increased likelihood that I will be exposed. Statistics to date show an 8% mortality rate for people in the 70-79 age range like me. I'd prefer not to take that 8% chance.
