Capital City RVP out east might work for you, nice place. http://www.capitalcityrvpark.net/www.capitalcityrv.park.net/Welcome.html

RE: Are damage deposits at parks customary?

I've never heard of it until now in 13 years fulltiming. I wouldn't do it.

RE: Storms and Tornados

Don't be up in Dixie Alley before June 1; stay south of I-10 and east of I-95. And the same goes for the classic Tornado Alley. If an outbreak is forecast, go south and/or east. In the past two outbreaks _three days_ warning was given, plenty of time to move to avoid the weather. This of course applies to travelers, not stationary people. Stationary RVers might want to rethink where they are. If you can move, there's really no excuse.

RE: Any option for re-filling MH Propane Tank from Small Tank?

Residential and "recreational" propane are priced differently; that's probably what's going on.

RE: Dollar General grocery?

I read an interview several years ago with the CEO of Dollar General / Family Dollar; he clearly stated that his strategy for competing with Walmart was to put a dollar store on every corner. Looks like he's succeeding.

RE: Dollar General grocery?

Instacart now delivers from Family Dollar. Odd but makes sense.

RE: CG in Central FL With Golf Cart Access to Stores

Cypress is 1.2 miles west of US-27 on FL-540. This is the southeast corner of the city..Actual downtown is a few miles northwest. It's 16 miles south of I-4 and about 42 miles east of I-75. Uber is a good alternative to a car in the area.

RE: CG in Central FL With Golf Cart Access to Stores

Cypress CG in Winter Haven is next to Walmart, has specific off-street golf cart access to Walmart, a bank and other shops. Some CG residents work at Walmart. Also, in that area, deliveries are available from Walmart, Winn-Dixie, Publix, Aldi, CVS and ABC Liquors. We're a bit west of Winter Haven across US-27; we haven't been inside a supermarket since March 2020.

RE: GC2 which?

I'm looking at Batteries Plus; Duracell is $89 while the same at Sam's is $89 (+ membership). The Crown 220Ah is $125 at Batteries Plus. I'll probably go with Duracell. I'm good about taking care of batteries. Thanks!

GC2 which?

Looking at readily-available and fairly inexpensive Duracell and Crown GC2 batteries, same price and AH ratings, Crown is a couple of pounds lighter. Which to buy and why? Lithium isn't feasible right now. Previous batteries were a pair of Grp 27 12v Interstates which died after six years. Thanks!

RE: Existing air line for RV braking system

It'l probably be SMI , M&G or Roadmaster. Hunt for a tank/compressor.

RE: Small Grills

Just plop a Lodge 12" griddle or any skillet on it and have at it. You don't have to have any special or unitasker cooker.

RE: Routes around Houston TX

Navasota has approved a new rv park, I think on the northwest side. If it's open it would be a welcome stop on a long stretch.

RE: Routes around Houston TX

You could take TX-105 out of Beaumont around to Brenham and work your way southward.

RE: ready to install antenna and router, but lots of ???

Your antenna isn't tall enough to worry about mounting it on the drivers side. My six years experience with a Pepwave Max BR-1 has shown very sufficient performance with antennae on the roof, no pole mount. The only advantage of a pole would be if you're blocked by solid buildings or terrain; you'd have to be sure you're not intrducing too much coax loss. BTW, use LMR-400 coax.

RE: Dielectric grease for 30 amp plug and receptacle?

You won't hurt anything using dielectric grease or cosmoline but won't help anything either. Deoxit works for cleaning but won't help if the socket is burned or mechanically compromised. Turn off loads and pull the CG breaker when plugging in or unplugging. When a CG socket gets burned and loose there's nothing you can do about it. If there's a 50A socket available use a dogbone and plug into it

RE: I needed to add an extra browser

Vivaldi and Opera use the chromium engine, as does Edge. With Internet Explorer gone Opera may be the longest-lived browser now.
